While the sounds included are quite good the amount of octaves available are very reductive and unrealistic for a learning tool. Also the UI includes all the demo articulations. Not useful and not being able to hide them is very counterproductive. Solo instruments are a very nice touch with very good sounds.

As just retired with ostheoarthritis in hands (hard to play) I started learning daws, plugins and sound libraries in order to have fun and enjoy making music. I´ve tried to make calm athmospheric modal-type jazz and Jobim-like bossa, too, and have found that I can use SSO´s instruments in that work very easily. Although SSO Discover is clearly a teaser to buy the full SSO, for what it has inside I can learn wonderful things in digital sound. The quality of sounds, in my opinion and having not much experience, is so good.

I love this simple free library.

sound is great. but as it s free, there's not a lot of instruments and articulations. but i was seduced. i wanted to buy core or pro on thomann.com where it was with a good price (june 2 th) but it was sudenly more exepensive. I ll wait for a better price (summer sales, i hope)

Tremendous sounds here. Have used them on 3 rough sketches and love the character and tone. The majesty of the big room is a big component here. I'll definitely purchase the Intimate Strings package for a closer mic more textured counterpart. Highly recommended!

Excellent quality. Professional, fine sound. A delight to compose with and a joy to listen to.

Sound library is very usable. Same as my BBCSO. But the Spitfire Audio app is way too old, buggy, stupid and does not update the plug-ins. There is no overview those updates or version numbers. Only some update info for the sound libraries themselves. You have to use the REPAIR function to hopefully update the Plug-ins. No info. No versions. No nothing. This is not a smart way to do it. I have reported this years ago, no updates.

Instruments seem pretty thin.. not very dense (samples) quality.

Too good to be free

as someone was requesting help with this library, I decided to install it to assist. It became clear that with only two articulations, something not made clear in the introductory video, it is really VERY limited and I quickly removed it again. Of course no match for the full SSO which is my main go to orchestra and which would get 5 stars. Yes the Discover version is free but it's surely only designed as a taster for the full product!
