Splashtop thinks its clients work for them
Had a client issue and the Update popup would not go away. Multiple "choose the crosswalk" crap validation the. Choose the bicycle then we'll send you a text. It was about 7 steps. Then to start a ticket another 10-12 questions steps. I am the client ..not the employee. Totally crap. I selected not at this time....wouldnt go away. You guys SUCK NOW. I need a service that works ..not one that works me .

It works well and is reliable, but the experience was much better before the recent license change you made. You are now in jeopardy of being replaced with us.

IT Manger
As the account administrator, the service is reliable, priced very well (compared to other secure, remote access services). We use it extensively since the pandemic (when we first needed a secure, remote access solution). My preferred remote access solution.
I researched a number of remote access…
I researched a number of remote access programs. Splashtop provides many features that the others don't. For example, all of my associates have dual monitors and Splashtop supports dual monitor. The video is very clear and easy to read. Finally, it is much more cost effective.
Solid and Reliable
We have been using Splashtop to do remote support for many years. Much cheaper to use than other products.
Splashtop is barely useful if you only need to work remotely rarely and for just a few minutes. Otherwise, it’s a pain.
Splashtop has a fairer licensing model than most other providers, but it’s still way too expensive.
WARNING! Splashtop is a nightmare:
We’re Splashtop Business customers and are having a lot of trouble:
❯ Splashtop SOS hasn’t been working for months—so it’s not being fixed
❯ The “Splashtop Business” admin console makes your own computer EXTREMELY slow - even when no remote desktop is active!
❯ An active remote desktop makes your own computer MASSIVELY slower
❯ Splashtop does NOT provide professional transmission of the remote computer’s screen content; it transmits pixels. That’s why the remote screen is transmitted EXTREMELY slowly: you constantly have to wait 10 seconds or longer, e.g. whenever the remote computer displays the UAC screen. With all other solutions, this takes just a fraction of a second.
Our conclusion?
Splashtop is barely useful if you only need to work remotely rarely and for just a few minutes. Otherwise, it’s a great pain.
Splashtop Review Extremely Disappointing & Misleading Experience
I signed up for Splashtop’s 7-day free trial hoping to get a reliable remote desktop solution. Instead, I faced constant frustration. Throughout the entire trial, the software frequently got stuck and froze, making it almost unusable for any real work. I kept telling myself that maybe these performance issues would be fixed once I paid for the subscription.
The real shock came after the trial ended. During the trial, the pricing was clearly shown as $6 per month. But when I went to buy, the only option available was $72 per year. There was no monthly plan at all. When I contacted live chat support and asked about this, they casually replied that “our rates show like this.” No proper explanation, no flexibility, just a dismissive response.
This feels like a classic bait-and-switch tactic. They lure customers in by showing a low monthly price during the trial, but once you’re ready to pay, you’re forced into an annual plan with no other choice. Combined with the terrible performance (constant freezing), this is completely unacceptable for paid remote access software.
Overall rating: 1 star.
Very poor experience. The software is unstable, the pricing is misleading, and the support is unhelpful. I strongly advise others to avoid Splashtop and look for better alternatives. They are clearly more focused on trapping customers than providing a good product.
Does exactly what it's supposed to do.
It's hard to review an application that does exactly what it's supposed to do. Stated as simply as I can, the app works and works well.
useless when you need it
useless when you need it, wants you to authorise you computer with email 2fa which makes it useless crap if your off site which is the exact point of remote desktop software. GG on making me go with a solution ( not yours) that wont leave me hanging when i need it
Absolute garbage (switched to RustDesk in the end)
I switched from Teamviewer to Splashtop 2 years ago and I can say that it turned into absolute garbage.
Lately, most of the time, connections to the remote computers cannot be established, even when there is Tailscale tunnel available.
Contacting the tech support will get you absolutely nowhere, since they just ask for a bunch of debugging information and then provide no solution whatsoever.
On top of that, the product hasn't been updated in the last 2 years at all.
I ended up switching to RustDesk and extremely happy.

Subscription cancled but Splashtop keep on charging my C.C.
Had a subscription for couple of years. We have cancled the subscription and yet, SplashTop is keeping attempting to charge my credit card multiple times, every time different amount so I can not block them.

Beware of Splashtop personal
Beware of Splashtop personal. It is purely a bait and switch play. Even though they charge you for it, almost every feature or setting beyond the very most basic settings requires an upgrade to the expensive business edition.
