My flights to the UK got cancelled due…

My flights to the UK got cancelled due to bad weather here in the Falkland Islands. I found no way to obtain any kind of a refund for the ticket i had purchased.

We're sorry to hear that your flights were cancelled. If your train tickets were advance tickets then they would be non-refundable but you could book replacement tickets and then apply for a refund on the original tickets. If your tickets were refundable flexible tickets then you could apply for a refund.

A nervous passenger and now a happy customer

I have not travelled by train many times in my life and when I have done so in the past I did not have to sort out the tickets.
So, it was with trepidation that I tried to work out timings (as I had to change via the tube once) and Idid find it quite confusing.
However, when I found your site, your computer did it all for me and worked out the whole journey as well as telling me how long I had before I needed to catch the tube and the next train
It was all fairly simple. Lots of tickets but that means you get a good price. I managed to book seats for the longest journey, which worked well.
So, all in all a very happy customer and will definitely use you again.

Really good experience

Really good experience, much cheaper than purchasing through a mainstream provider. Kept me informed of any changes and replied very promptly (on a Sunday) when i made an enquiry.

Dreadful experience booking tickets

Dreadful experience booking tickets. Booked for 2 adults with 1 senior railcard. It was only on checking my email after my work shift I realised the booking had discounted for 2 senior railcards! I rebooked but then couldn't get a refund for the incorrect tickets, due to booking 2 journeys and not 1??? Will definitely not use again. Really ridiculous refund policy and such a negative reply from customer service. Be aware when booking through here, as apparently you only have a 1 hour time frame to claim any refund etc. which didn't help me as I booked at 1.49 am. Customer service really of no help whatsoever and no consideration taken into account for the initial error. Please be careful when booking via this company, very good at taking money, but definitely do not like giving refunds!

The website clearly states to make sure that all passengers are covered when you select a Railcard.
We have to follow a strict audit process as set out by National Rail and the Train Operating Companies, hence journeys for the refund of replacement tickets have to match completely.
It is not the case that there is a 1 hour time frame to claim any refund, there is a 1 hour time frame to claim a fee-free refund, when the customer has made an error in their booking, this is the consideration for the initial error.
We follow the Terms and Conditions agreed to and the refund process set out by National Rail and the Rail Companies.

Absolute thieves

Warning! If you use Split My Fare don’t cancel or change your ticket. You get charged £5 for doing so. If you buy a replacement ticket that’s cheaper than the one you’re cancelling, they give you the money back for the cheaper ticket minus £5. I’m amazed they’re allowed to get away with this thievery. I will never use them again.

The £5 admin fee is to cover charges that are incurred to us by processing refunds. This is stated in the terms and conditions you agreed to, which also state the the lower price of the original and replacement ticket will be refunded.

Good deal thanks but I need to read emails more carefully

Well it was a good deal so thanks.
You also sent emails with all the details.
But I failed to carefully read the emails so I referred to just one of them, and mixed up where I was supposed to change with how the fare was split up.
It didn't matter in the end, and I appreciate it is my fault, but I am just giving you some feedback; that perhaps on the email that refers to how the fare has been split it could clearly state that this is not the changes. Or maybe I should just read the emails a bit more carefully... anyway thanks guys

Can't fault them

I always buy train tickets from here and have been completely satisfied. I've contacted support a couple of times when I had a question about changing my booking and another time when I accidentally booked duplicate tickets for a journey. Both times I received a really fast response and a resolution to the issue. Not to mention I've saved a lot of money by buying split tickets!
