nhs worker with a newborn baby on…

I’m a nhs worker with a newborn baby on maternity leave currently. I went into store today to buy a few gym related clothing, however I needed to leave as the baby needed to feed and so I rushed to grab items and left. The cashier informed me I could get a refund on the items which did not fit if I did need to return items. A few items did not fit and therefore in return to store to request a refund. Refund was refused as their policy is exchange or credit note only. This policy is exploiting customers good will and needs reviewing. I did quote the consumer rights act 2015 to the store manager who advised no refund would be issued as per sports direct policy. Sports direct you should be ashamed of yourself. I have never experienced such poor customer service and exploitative measures.

Impossible to return misrepresented…

Wife ordered our daughter a pair of Adidas track running spikes, was sent a pair of Adidas softball cleats. The shoes are clearly misrepresented on their website. Their returns procedure/process is really bad. The only way to contact them to resolve at their cost is via social media.

Edit: after contacting them on Facebook a return label was sent and refund issued. Updated to 3 stars based only on the helpfulness of the CS representative to resolve quickly, but still with recognition that their returns process is designed to be extremely difficult.

£2 for a bag.

Went into shop in Livingston yesterday and bought a couple of pairs of sliders. They wanted to charge me £2 for a bag to put them in. This was my first and last time in this shop.

Fraudulent company - online scam

Fraudulent company. I struggle to understand how are they still in business. Simple issue of refund has been dragged out for two months. Purchased trainers. Was sent a pair that have clearly been resold. Returned immediately without trying them on. Was told that return is not accepted as shoes are not in ‘resellable condition’.
Absolutely pointless contacting ‘customer services’, who operate abroad. They are just quoting ‘their policy’. No way to complaint or escalate. You get the same team of morons somewhere in south Asia, copy pasting template drivel.
They state that they’ve sent back the return, which I have never received. The courier company confirmed that the parcel CANNOT BE LOCATED. These scammers refuse to refund anyway.
AVOID AT ALL COST.

Returned - Only received partial refund

I ordered online before Christmas (December2025). I kept what fit and returned the clothing and a pair of shoes which didn't fit.

I got a part refund for the shoes (£98) but nothing back for the clothing.

I emailed and was told that only the shoes were returned. I asked to complain or receive a refund and within 35 minutes the lady who replied claimed that they've checked CCTV and there were only shoes in the parcel.

I feel as though I've gone mad.
I remember putting the clothing in the parcel and posting it like it was yesterday. I find it hard to believe that she would have or another colleague would have found and checked specific CCTV footage within 35 minutes.

I order regularly and I'm seriously disappointed this time, I don't want to order ever again.

Voucher instead money?

I ordered shoes on line and after four days they cancelled my order. Just sorry no explanation. Then I went to returned something and they gave me a voucher instead money back to my account. This is ridiculous, you are forcing me to spend my money in your shop and giving me two years to do it. I will avoid you at any cost and share word with everyone how bad you are.

Absolutely appalling experience with…

Absolutely appalling experience with Sports Direct. This company is a complete rip-off and shows zero regard for customers. Their courier consistently fails to deliver items, yet when we finally receive anything, it’s something as trivial as a £8.99 mug. On top of that, they charge £5 for each failed delivery, effectively making us pay nearly £10 just to be scammed.
Their customer service is utterly useless—completely unhelpful, dismissive, and unwilling to resolve the problems they themselves have caused. It’s clear this company has no interest in serving customers fairly; they are more interested in scamming people and lining their own pockets.
Avoid Sports Direct at all costs. They are nothing more than con artists, and their business model seems built on frustrating and overcharging customers. Truly shocking.

Marketing have lost the plot!

Went past Sports Direct at Chorley and was quite surprised by what the company thinks is a good marketing poster in the front window!

It was of two young men staring in a quite menacing way. Looked more like they would knife me than sell me a pair of trainers! I don’t understand what Marketing depts think they are there to do but it doesn’t seem to be to attract customers?

Awful Service.

I’m now on my third or fourth escalation with Sports Direct, and still no proper response. I ordered a personalised Arsenal away shirt for my niece’s 10th birthday, and the whole experience has been nothing short of a nightmare.

First, the order was delivered to the wrong address, which took nearly a week to sort out. When the replacement finally arrived, it came without any personalisation, completely missing the point of the gift.

When I contacted customer service, all I received were generic apologies and instructions to return the item at my own cost. No real help, no solution, and no sign of the personalised shirt I paid for.

It’s so disappointing, especially as my niece was really looking forward to her shirt and ended up in tears on her birthday. Sports Direct’s lack of care has honestly ruined what should have been a simple, special gift.

I chose Sports Direct because their price was more affordable than Arsenal Direct, but now I understand why. Cheap prices clearly come with cheap service.

All I want is what I paid for, the correct personalised shirt, or at the very least a refund and a genuine apology. Really poor experience from such a big company.

Sharp Practice and Poor Customer Service. Had to order a football shirt online

Had to order a football shirt online. £4.99 for home delivery and other options were mentioned - express delivery, next day etc. £4.99 to deliver to store. When I placed the order there was no option for express delivery and so I opted for delivery to store because I thought it might be quicker. Date for collection was given for 7 days time. Sharp practice making you think that you could have express delivery. Customer Service in Crewe Store was abysmal, untrained member of staff working alone, took ages to handle the online order collection, had to get another member of staff involved. No eye contact with me, no banter just embarrassed silences. Big queue formed behind me with people getting fed up with waiting. Whole experience was unfortunate, I will be giving Sports Direct a very wide berth in future..

Shocking customer service

Ordered multiple items. Package came ripped and one item was missing. Customer service refused to acknowledge it saying it was in the bag when it left their warehouse. Refused to offer a refund or replacement.

Disgraceful treatment but given who their owner is, is there any surprise. I won’t be using this company again and would advise others to boycott them too and use a company who actually cares about its customers.

In process of ordering a Liverpool…

In process of ordering a Liverpool football shirt. Went through process to buy with banking app. Money taken twice but ordered not generated,
Sent them proof of debit from bank statement but as there is no order number they say nothing can be done.
Awful.
This is fraud.
But you cannot talk to anyone. Only emails to people in India who don’t care.
Doubt I’ll get the 216 euros back but advise boycotting this appalling company.
If treat customers like dirt they will, and are, going elsewhere.me for sure.

I can’t complain about an item

I can’t complain about an item. The customer service site is set up such that it makes it too hard to get through. Tennis shoes bought in June are useless in September because the soles are completely gone! I WILL NEVER GO TO SPORTS DIRECT AGAIN!!!

Silver link sports direct very poor…

Silver link sports direct very poor customer service no manner how they talk to the customer, very racists, refund policy is very bad for the customer never ever do shopping form this racists shop again . I will tell my friends and family that never waste your hard earning money to shopping this type of low class of shop, really shocking in the country of UK very poor experience.
This two employee should be sacked form this store for future good for this store.

Item didn't arrive and I got refund for item only not excessive delivery fee

I ordered three items. 2 for lost in transit. SD eventually refunded those items but not delivery. I only paid for delivery for all three items, it wasn't worth it for the item that arrived. Their customer service, as everyone who has ever used it knows, is awful and they simply said they couldn't do anything, despite a clear breach of consumer rights act 2015
