I recently had a business review with Santiago and it was an excellent experience. He was incredibly helpful, informative, and easy to follow throughout the process. Santiago has been great at following up and ensuring all my questions are addressed. I also appreciated his flexibility in accommodating my busy schedule.

Started using them in September. Communication is basically non existent. Before we signed on with them, there was constant communication, but I guess they did what they had to do to for the sale. Whenever you call customer support, they escalate the call no matter how simple the issue is and it takes days to get a response. Most recently, I learned I was sold a package that limits what I can and can't do in my restaurant. I reached out to our sales rep a few days before Thanksgiving and have yet to get a response from ANYONE. I have to consistently reboot my POS to get my printer to stay online. SpotOn is no better than any other POS vendor, but we've decided to stick with them to avoid the headache of learning a new system all over again. I've also contacted the boss of our sales rep several times to get some sort of resolution and have not heard from him either.

As a telecommunications provider, I work with many clients who rely on credit card processing services, and I can confidently say that Todd Summers and SpotOn stand out from the crowd. Unlike other providers, Todd and his team take a genuine interest in helping businesses succeed. They go beyond just processing payments, they focus on helping clients sell more products, streamline operations, and achieve greater efficiency. On top of that, they offer some of the most competitive fees in the industry.
Todd has also been an exceptional referral partner for Burlington Telecom, providing us with several referrals that have directly resulted in new business for our organization. His commitment to creating win-win opportunities and supporting the growth of the businesses he works with is truly impressive. If you're looking for a credit card processing solution that prioritizes your success and want to work with someone who genuinely values partnerships, I highly recommend Todd Summers and SpotOn.

I was contacted by Santiago Luque from SpotOn. We set up an appointment for a zoom call. Our zoom meeting went extremely well. Santiago showed me how to access different areas of the SpotOn data base that I was unaware of. He was patient while I learned more about your system. He even followed up with me showing me an area that I requested more information. He is an asset to your company. I will contact him in the future when either myself or my staff have any further questions. Great guy!! Tom Knorr

Horribly dysfunctional and disorganized system architecture that makes a restaurant owner's job more difficult. Support is just as bad. It's a mirror-image of their system: inefficient, disorganized, and time-consuming. If you call support, you don't get your issue dealt with, instead you sit and wait to finally speak to what amounts to an answering service who put in a ticket for someone to eventually email you (but not call you back). System functions are spread out across half a dozen sub-domained apps, so you can't do everything you need to do in one spot. Total remote management is also impossible, as some things are done in the backend apps, some things on each POS terminal. Just a thoughtless, runaway design. We thought Toast was bad and getting long in the tooth until we tried Spoton. Hardware is also buggy and freezes. We had issues from day one, never were addressed. We moved to Square in 3 weeks. Much better alternative, new architecture, built for future extensibility, ease of use, and efficiency. Pretty much the exact opposite of what you get with Spoton.

New customer here. Spot On was recommended by my Merchant services account representative. It's been more bad than good, alas. I judge from his feedback that he is not happy either.
On the plus side, the terminal was easy to set up, and had already been configured with the correct information. The terminal has some nice features. However, it does not do over-the-phone charges, which are sometimes a necessity in my business. It times out before you can put in all the information. It also requires inputting the entire address associated with the card, unlike any other terminal I have ever used. It is very awkward to do this using the tiny on-screen keyboard. I contacted customer service to fix this, but the fix that was supposedly going to solve the problem did not work. This is a serious weakness.
Customer service is responsive, and tries to be helpful. But I get the impression that they are using freelance help that isn't well-versed in the product. A fair percentage of the agents appear not to be native English speakers.
Now the bad: Spot On charged me nearly $400 for the terminal. In 26 years of doing business I've dealt with 6 or 7 merchant services companies, and Spot On is the first to charge for a terminal. I'd had the service for several weeks now, was not expecting this charge, and now my rent check is going to bounce because of it. These terminals are selling online for way less than $400. The terminal will not hold a charge for more than a couple hours, so you have to keep it plugged in.
And then there are the charges. Spot On takes a flat 4 percent of every transaction, whether credit or debit. This is really high. I understand that there is a lot of credit card fraud, and that there are rewards cards. But again, the 4 percent charge applies even to debit cards, which is most transactions. This is not justifiable. Furthermore, I have a nearly spotless record with exactly one chargeback in the last 20 years. I should get a better rate. I took this up with customer service and they gave me a gobbledygook explanation that seemed intentionally confusing. Basically it came down to this: If you don't like the 4 percent charge, then build in a "convenience fee" for every sale. Ok, but that's the sort of thing that will drive customers off.
I suspect there will be some other charges too, so I will have to minutely examine my statements for the foreseeable future, which is a nuisance.
With this company there are surprises. And not the good kind. I cannot recommend them. Merchant Services is a very competitive market, and Spot On falls short against other services.
I hasten to add that I rarely, almost never, leave negative reviews. It takes an exceptional experience to generate one.

Chris is fabulous. He has a sense of humor, he is patient, he explains everything, and he makes ypu feel important. That all goes a very long way with me. He also points out what is available with spot on. Very helpful.

Mr. Chris Jones is the man. Very professional, helpful, and responsible. Quick service and very helpful every time.
They promise a lot and then all you have is problems with their system, customer service can never do anything to help. Now they want to charge $750 to get technical support. Worst decision to do business with them.
