Absolutely brilliant app! I've been using it since December & only wish I'd known about it sooner. I use it for everyday purchases where you literally get free money towards paying off your mortgage.... See more

Sprive was recommended by a friend and I have been shocked at how it all adds up! In three months we have overpaid another £80 which over the mortgage term would save thousands!

I can't think of any suitable reason not to try this app if you have a mortgage. I found out about it as someone mentioned it on a money saving Facebook group. I started using it last September, and now, in March, just short of 7 months later, I have paid more than an extra £160 towards my mortgage. It hasn't cost me a penny, and only takes a few extra seconds when making a purchase at so many online or physical retailers.
My most regular use is at supermarkets. I tend to use the self checkouts or shop and scan so there is no issue with taking an extra minute when paying - as soon as I know my total I can easily use the app to purchase the required voucher and then pay with it. I have also used it frequently with Amazon, however at the time of writing this review, that option says it is currently unavailable.
£160 in 7 months might not seem massive compared to the size of a mortgage, but I'm grateful that it is money I've received for free, and I'll be continuing to use the app to chip away at my mortgage amount.
I've recommended the app to a couple of friends who are also now regular users of the app too.

I've been using this app for just over a month and am very impressed with the savings made so far. Easy to use and transfer money to my mortgage as well as getting rewarded for new referrals. Only downside I've found is the lag time to get into the app, connect to my online banking app and then to have the gift card generated. If you are using a self checkout machine, no problem, otherwise you will be holding up the till. Yes, you can get the gift card in advance, but you might not know how much money you are going to spend.

This is helping pay off the mortgage and reduce my term quickly - I am always looking on the app to see if the shop I am buying at is on here to get the cash back

Simple app to use .. and who doesn’t love free money. I’ve recommended this app to all of my friends. It’s a must have.

Totally love this App. I have used many other cashback apps but what I like about this is this automatically goes towards the mortgage. I had tasked myself with overpaying by 10% this year and to get cashback from just doing my normal weekly shop etc is so handy. Easy to use, great dashboards, ability to top up if you want too. Love it! X

Really enjoying the app, it's quite addictive searching for the different places to make savings. Wish there was a petrol saving feature or home/car insurance to really cash in on larger purchases. Although I did get a really good return on a holiday I purchased.

Just started using app.very slow on adding a payment for voucher to pay for shopping.takes a while when waiting to pay for groceries.
Unfortunatley sprive will not take a credit card payment .buying a voucher come directly from your bank account.

I had the owner on my podcast and I've been using the app ever since I saw the app featured on dragons den.
If you want a way to achieve your financial freedom, by paying off your mortgage sooner, then this is the app for you.
My wife and I have begun using it for all our shops and I recently won £250 on the app from the referrals that I sent straight to my mortgage.
Highly recommended and if you want to, in this day and age, save money when everything is going up - this is the app for you!

The overall concept is good for those who are not financial savvy.
1. Once you’ve connected your bank account (so they can confirm your mortgage), you cannot pay in using any other account which is a pain as I usually use another card for different purchases.
2. The cashback % is average compared to other cashback platforms but if you’re not savvy enough to sort all that, Sprive is sufficient.
3. The auto-save function isn’t that useful. All it does is a standing order to take money from your bank account to Sprive’s holding account - it doesn’t directly overpay into your mortgage account. I could set up the same function into an interest accruing pot and overpay my mortgage manually to make my money work harder or just set up a direct debit to overpay directly into my mortgage account from my bank account, why use Auto-save as a middle man? Again, beneficial for those who are not financially savvy.
4. Fundamentally, the cashback sits in a holding pot in Sprive, it doesn’t automatically move the cashback into your mortgage account as an overpayment until you submit that through the app.
5. Annoying every time I open the app, it promotes auto-save (if you haven’t set it up) or the mortgage deal finder.
What has been great for me:
1. Sprive found my mortgage account details easily. Annoyingly, we still haven’t found our mortgage account details so we can’t overpay directly until we get a free weekend to go into branch but Sprive bypasses it for us (therefore fuelling my laziness to go in branch)
2. I can budget my food shop better by buying a monthly amount which can also be used by my husband (rather than him asking for my card/me paying him back)

Easy app to use, straight forward process to link accounts and a wide variety of shops to choose from. Even if I knock a year or less of my mortgage using this app it's been successful

Amazing, however so many glitches when linking your bank for payments! It can be frustrating when at the til and you cant do the transfer

Absolutely fantastic, I’ve referred all my friends and families with mortgages. Even the ones that are in the buying process, the saving potential on big purchases is insane and every saving is an investment in your future as a homeowner. It makes every mortgage holders dream that little bit closer… to be mortgage free in time to enjoy life.

A fantastic app that encourages overpayment on your montage. Have no complaints. Payments have reached Halifax and I'm very happy.
