I enjoy some of the features, however the fee increases have been very significant in the past 2 years compared to other website platforms that have been an inconvenience. The current plan and the fea... See more

Found template choices somewhat limited and restricting. But I admittedly was a bit of a novice with websites. As a reference point for my work in marketing and advertising it did what ur was supposed to do.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.
Absolute joke of a company. You can't have a website and then work on another draft, same template, same everything, just changing a few tabs.
No, this USA company, classic behaviour, asks you to buy another domain. Are you crazy?
no online support either.
Avoid this company, same as Vimeo, airbnb. gringos doing the gringo scam.

It was hard to choose between 3 and 4 stars. There are som really great things about Squarespace and some other things that really need improvement. The customer service is amazing. I often do the live chat and it never takes more than 5 minutes to get a representative on the chat, and they usually are able to help me resolve any issues, that they are able to assist with. The website platform is really user friendly, especially for novice site builders, and the site templates are beautiful. When you use a template, there are often very limited sets of things you can do, which is frustrating at times, but I guess that's the price you pay for ease. The Campaigns are awful. That's where the 2 stars removed are coming from. You can't change the text or size in the body of the campaign. You can only create a separate header and change that front but it looks weird. There are so many aspects of the campaigns that are frustrating and you can't change them. Right at this moment I can't think of all the issues, but it's constant. What you pay for is definitely not worth it. I'd give that one star honestly. So as a website host and website building platform, I give it 4.5 stars, and I would highly recommend!

I'm a fairly tech savvy person but the process of using and updating the website templates was difficult to navigate. Taking away the ability to change the template used during the initial build is what made me cancel the service the same day I signed up.

I found Squarespace to be confusing and frustrating. I never was able to create a site worth looking at. I suppose if I had wanted to just use their template and change the words it may have been ok. The main problem began when I chose a template just to see what it would look like, then was unable to go back and choose any other template. There is no help, and the community forum is a barren wasteland.

For a website that is all about making good websites, this is surprisingly poor. The interface is not intuitive, there's very limited customization. For example if you want to change the opacity of a button, you have to jump through lots of hoops changing the overall template button. Why not just have an option for opacity of that button? And once you get to the place for changing the opacity of the template, it's a completely different control from that of other elements.
For customization, they do this grid thing for alignment, but it means you can't fine tune things. There should be snap to align options. Instead, everything has to jump around by half an inch.
Totally regret investing the time in this software.

I was not able to inject into the website my template

I love Squarespace designs and intuitive interface. The Customer Service AI bot is good, but my only thing is that it was not available to help me work on my template directly to build it, which I was disappointed. It's also a struggle to get through to customer service if the AI bot can't help.

I have built very basic websites on multiple other platforms. I was very surprised how limiting your web builder was. I just wanted to move texts around, adjust pictures and so much of the time the grid made it hard to move things. And then when I didn’t like the template it sss difficult to change.
I think the whole AI thing was build with good intentions but I had a horrible experience with it and then when I tried to build one without it it was also bad.
Sorry to be so negative but I feel like it was over engineered to make things “easy” but then it still want easy and it lost a lot of the ability to design a website they way you want. I feel like I wasted a lot of time trying to some very basic things.

Love Squarespace! I first used it from scratch and created my own website for my therapy business and it was easy and intuitive. Years later, I just followed a new template someone made and it was seemless and easy to follow. And then, the transfer of domains was a little confusing so I reached out to squarespace and a real human helped me figure it out quickly and patiently. Overall wonderful experience!

Very simple to make/edit your own website, very affordable and their support team is great! One little thing I find annoying (in version 7.1) is that if you choose a template, you can’t switch to another one, and yes it’s technically “all the same” and you can change the design, but it takes a long time. I would still make it possible to switch the template in the first month of the subscription or so. This way you can still find the template which fits you/your business the best, in case you made a quick decision too early. But really only in the beginning, so you can’t just have a new website every few months 😅 Anyway, all together I’m happy with Squarespace 😊

The basic setup of a Squarespace website is intuitive, but there is some frustrating functionality if you want to personalise a template. With only a desktop and mobile view on the preview I needed to make changes to the design to make it work on Tablet and laptop.

Having been a loyal (I have recommended them to many friends and created a number of SS websites for both clients and friends) customer of Squarespace since its inception in 2003, I was shocked by the sudden and unjustifiable 48% hike in the annual cost of their cheapest website (I have two) - from $138 to $204 each! Their template designs are beautiful but I am not happy with their new costs.

Easy to build once I picked a template. Had a little trouble buying a domain but contacted support and Ophelia M. to the rescue. She resolved my issue in a couple minutes and I was up and running!

I had to use customer support to answer several questions. The help was very good and responsive. I did run up against some (to me) significant limitations in customizing the design. Basically, you have no options outside the standard template styles which are pretty basic. I wanted to customize a text box with a special font, but there is no way to do that. You are limited to two fonts across your website.

So far, so good. I really like and think their template base website builder. Easy to use and I like the results. My only complaint is no "telephone" support. Overall happy!

After I paid for a subscription with Squarespace and was halfway through designing a website, I received an email to PURCHASE a plan for the scheduling page that was included in my template. I looked it up and the cost was the same as my monthly website payment. I contacted Squarespace and was told that it was shown inside the template as something available. But never did it say that it was an optional item, or had an additional cost while advertising this template. I started to research Squarespace again and found out that they are not BBB accredited. I stopped designing and will be closing my account, as I do not feel comfortable putting my business in this companies hands. Businesses must be forthright and not sneakily trying to double your costs to line their own pockets. This was very unfortunate, but I guess good to know now before I opened publicly.

I was able to get my website working quickly and the tools to edit are simple to use. I am not happy about load times though, I noticed that images on my blog page take several seconds longer to load than other websites.
Also, I wish I could go and make more advanced tweaks to the template design. Hyperlinks do not show up as blue in text and I wish I could change this one thing without choosing a whole different template.
Finally, instagram plugins break often so I just had to remove it.

I believe the platform for building a website is a bit complicated. For example, trying to import my products to the new site using the provided template did not work, no matter how many times I tried. The tech support is also very limited; it often just sends you back to an automated link or a community platform.
