Dealing with staff

After a cycle tour through Norway and Sweden we had to use several bike shops for various tasks . Stalhasten was by far the most helpful and all done with a friendly smile. Highly recommend

not good service, stopped answering

I ordered a Prima bike In late August 2021 and had to wait until the beginning of december befor I got it. And before I even had it I received a letter about the warranty, that started from the moment I did my order and it would last only for 3 months.. so I asked if they could put it on hold until I hade received the actual bike, but then they told me I hade to contact the insurance company and so on…
When the bike arrived I had to assemble it by myself and while I was putting it together I noticed there was one kind of big damage in the varnish that they hade marked out themselves and there where also missing some screwes.
So I contacted them once again, I even called them cause they didn’t answer my email, the guy I was talking to told me that they would send over som screws and a lacquer pencil.
But days and weeks passed by but nothing in the mail… so I called them again, and he told me it had been sent with the mail, that I should wait a few more days.
I think a whole month passed by and nothing and because it was winter and I did not want to bike anywhere, so I wasn’t that anxious about it.
But I called ones again and then the guy(same person every time) told me that they accidentally lost my package in their office, but he would send it to me right away, and then a few days later I received the package with the screws but no lacquer pencil….
So I emailed about it and said that this process has taken such a long time(about 6 months) and that the damage in the varnish was a production mistake and that I would like some discount or some kind of compensation for it, I also mentioned that my next step would be to contact Konsumentverket or ARN about this…
But at the time I recently had my first baby so I wasn’t really in the mood for a fight like this.

I recently sold the bike for almost the same price that I got it so I’m perfectly happy about that, but I would never EVER recommend Stålhästen to anyone, I will warn them about it instead. It’s such a shame, the bikes are really pretty.

Terrible bike

Terrible bike, the shifts never change accordingly or they get stuck, if you stand on the pedals they begin to crack, the breaks wear out very easily and the valve system is a joke, I'm on my 3rd inner tube because the valve is so ridiculously sensitive that it bends and breaks by just looking at it, worst part is, you no longer have the model tube for this bike available very expensive for such a bad quality bike

sorry to hear about your experience. But is it really a Stålhästen bike? Most of our models use Schrader valve, which is very hard to bend and are very reliable. Some models have Presta valve, but these models don't have gears and/or the kind of breaks you ar refering to. I bought this bike several months back

I bought this bike several months back. Less than a year I had to fix the 5-10 times.
Mudguard adjustments
Break problems
Chain cover alignment problems
Now less than year old and chain is too long. Overran build of the bike is poorly done and really low quality build.

I feel really sad to buy this bike.

Thank you for your review but sorry to hear about your experience. Did you buy the bike with assembly from our shops? Then we always include a free check-up service after 3 months. Otherwise we recommend in our manual to tighten bolts and scews after the first weeks of riding if you assemble the bike on your own, since newly assembled bikes at most times needs to be tighten after the first time of usage. This goes for all types of bikes, as well as you need to stretch the chain sometimes. If you are able to come by any of our stores we will gladly assist you with this!

It’s a great webshop but

It’s a great webshop! Disappointed that I have to pay an extra fee for you to build my bike though. That really should be included in the price.

Hope it’s worth it. :)
I actually chose not buy a basket to keep the cost down, since I had to pay for assembly.

Beautiful city bike, average costumer support

I ordered a bike online, the delivery seemed full of uncertainty about dates. But it was delivered.
-The website promise you 2-5 days for delivery. once you place the order the receipt footnote promise you 5-10 days. I got it after 10 days (6 working days)

-The Customer support, are very fast to reply but most of the time they don't answer your question which touched my nerves. For example, Every time I ask about the delivery I got "I will check with the store and ask them to give you an update." they never came back with any information, not them not the store. until I asked them again and again

-The bike is hybrid svart, light and nicely built, and the gear range is surprisingly comfortable. I was planning to upgrade with one more front gear but probably I do not need that

-The bike came without reflectors, but this is a small dent

I was trying to buy a bike about like 6 months. I didn’t get the bike. Customer support was like unable sell the bike even I tried to help them but still the task was apparently too much. I have to say this seems kind of weird way to run a store. So I can’t really recommend this store and even less the customer support. It seems to be non existent.
Jag försökte köpa en cykel 6 mån. Kundservice kunde inte lösa hur ska de ta betalt av mig. Kan inte riktigt rekommendera 😅. Riktigt dåligt service och eventuellt fick köpa en cykel annanstans.

I am extremely pleased with the bike…but customer service has some work to do.

I am extremely pleased with the bike and accessories 100%. What I did not appreciate was the time it took to receive the bike (which in fairness was clearly communicated on the website) and mainly the customer service.

I could deal with the delay as this was not a surprise, but there was no updates or communication of a solid date when bike would be ready. I was constantly the one to follow up on status via email (responses were given quickly in fairness but were very short and gave no added value), and in the end had I not asked if my bike was ready 3 weeks after I was told it was in assembly, I feel I would still be waiting to get the communication that my bike was ready for pick up. I received no notification via sms or email that the bike was ready for pick up, notification was given as response to my email after asking surely assembly should not take 3 weeks.

Had the responses taken longer to be given and if I was dissapointed with my purchase I could have scored lower, the company is a great company, there is just some work to be done on customer service and then I would have easily scored 4 or 5.

A very nice bike

A very nice bike, but it arrived 6 weeks later than promised, and the customer support during this delay was useless, which made the whole experience of ordering this bike just frustrating. Once you arrive physically at the store they are quite helpful (hence the two stars instead of one for the experience).
