I attended the Bone Rest Day. It was just that. An opportunity to step back and be. Ruth's lovely garden has the best sauna which was divine with a cold shower and then lots of places to be both inside and outside the house. We read, we chilled we chatted if we wanted. Ruth prepared an amazing array of cold herbal drinks and an incredible lunch. I was blessed by the company of wonderful women. Ruth creates such a gentle space and looked after us beautifully.

I first met Ruth at a drumming circle she holds, and immediately liked her energy, she’s warm and affable and just makes everyone really welcome.
She’s naturally curious, and happy to share her knowledge, and during one conversation we spoke about how she uses Tibetan singing bowls to get direct feedback on the energy of each chakra in her sound healing work.
This sparked my interest, because I’d completed a reiki level two course a year ago, and was using reiki assisted body scanning to help identify potential blockages that I felt might be holding me back on some creative projects I’d been procrastinating over for months. But my approach felt so reliant on my own intuition, and I didn’t feel confident enough to trust it given I’m a relative newbie to reiki.
So, I booked in for three sessions over a period of six weeks, and during the first session, Ruth could hear immediately where the energy was most depleted, and then used the remaining sessions to incorporate other instruments to assist in the healing work. This isn’t a quick fix, as in all holistic healing practices, the client needs to do the work in to make changes in their life, but when energies are blocked / depleted, it can feel like a mountain to climb, and having that extra support really lifted me over those first hurdles. Ruth is confident working with a range of clients, with differing levels of knowledge and experience in giving or receiving healing work, so she adapts her approach to suit the individual. I really valued this, because she understood where I have experience, and where my knowledge gaps are and so I came away feeling empowered.
The sessions themselves are beautiful, the room is cosy, Ruth takes time to get you settled, and allows time to talk if stuff comes up, so the aftercare should you need it is there. Prior to working with Ruth, I’d attended group sound healing and found them enjoyable as a shared experience, it’s nice to connect with others. But, whilst an individual session naturally incurs an additional cost, the advantage for me was that Ruth uses a wide range of instruments and sounds that were tailored specifically, and if you’re a bit of an empath sponge like me, you don’t absorb the energies of others, so I felt more confident that the responses I was feeling were my own. The responses were quite marked for me, in that I felt my body gently realigning (spine, hips, shoulders, and jaw), as the right and left sides of my brain were rebalancing, and individual chakras were responding. And I could hear the changes in the bowls too. If you’re new to energy healing practices and like a bit more direct feedback, then you should find sound healing with Ruth works particularly well for you. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending Ruth if this is something you’re curious to try, you’ll be in safe hands.

thanks so much for a truly magical evening, I felt so held. The whales in the gong bath, so beautifully played, and the calling in of elemental support with beautiful soulful poetry, crystal bowls singing their pure tones, was such a treat, feeling really blessed and happy to have discovered this most exquisite sound bath on my doorstep. Ive been to a lot of sound baths, but never heard the gong played like this before, absolutely entrancing, the whole experience opened up a lot of space in me, which has been such a gift, Ill definately be returning :)

Recently I attended a collaborative Mabon/ Autumn Equinox experience that has truly made an impression I will never forget. I found myself completely lost in the sound resonating all around me. Feeling so relaxed like I was laying on a floating bed of sound waves. I did not expect this level of connection through sound. Ruth’s musical expertise held us all spell bound as it drew our evening to its close. A truly healing time that I’ll always hold very dear.

This was my first sound bath and I really enjoyed it, especially because it coincided with the full moon. The sound therapy really helped me to reconnect with myself and to reframe the way I was thinking about something into a much more positive narrative.
I loved the intensity of the drums - I think they helped me to get back into my body. I felt like I'd been physically stimulated and/or moved by the sounds, which I'm not sure I'd ever really experienced before. I loved the venue and would definitely go back again, but bring more layers next time (the hall was chilly but that was mostly on me for not bringing enough layers!) Thank you for a wonderful experience, and hopefully see you again soon.

I attended a drum journey at the Mount Without - this beautiful setting was the perfect environment to be led through an amazing experience. It’s difficult to convey in words the effect the drums (and other beautiful sounds) have - it has to be experienced! I would recommend this experience to anyone with a curious mind and open heart. It was a privilege to be in the presence of their intuitive musicality and both Ruth and Brillo are skilled and caring hosts who clearly love sharing their passion for sound and the transformative effects it can have.

I have participated in the sound bath organised by Ruth and Brillo in the beautiful Westbury on Trym village hall. The space looked magic being lit and decorated specially for the sound bath. Straight from the beginning, I felt very welcome in the space and Ruth made sure that even people who might have not experienced a sound bath before knew what to expect and what could the sound healing potentially bring up. The sound bath begun with a short spoken word of poetry and then we immersed into the soundscape of shamanic drums, gong, tibetan bowls, crystal bowls, singing and other mysterious instruments. The sound journey had a great dynamic and gradation and eventually lead into a place of silence at the end. It left me deeply relaxed and in peace.
It was definitely an experience i would recommend whether or not you feel you are in need of healing. Thank you, Ruth and Brillo :)

Thank you Ruth and Brillo for such a wonderful experience at your group sound bath held in Westbury- on- Trym village hall. The building is so beautiful and atmospheric. It was a lovely experience, I totally relaxed immersing myself in the wonderful sounds and vibrations. I slept so well that evening and woke feeling energised. Ruth and Brillos calming energies make it a very special experience. I highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience at the soundbath organised by Ruth and Brillo. Ruth has the most calming and positive energy, which resonates beautifully in her voice during the sound bath. I felt wonderful throughout. When it was finished, I felt as if I had a long rest, and each part of my body was completely devoid of stress.
I loved the combination of Ruth's poetry, the sound of gongs, and Brillo's singing. It was perfect.
The venue they picked was beautiful and so peaceful.
Extra thanks for being so understanding about us being late - we had a small mishap on the way, but they completely understood and graciously waited for us. I will definitely join them again in the future!

I went to a Group sound bath at Westbury on Trym village hall- what a beautiful building! I was completely lost in sounds and vibrations. Ruth and Brillo take you on a real journey with their sound. They are warm and welcoming and create such a safe space. I was able to completely let go and trust in the experience. I left feeling well looked after, calm, relaxed and grounded and those feelings have stayed with me- Thank you for such an amazing healing experience.

I went to a group soundbath with Ruth and Brillo, which was incredible! Ruth's calming and pleasant voice reading a meditative poem at the start set me up from the beginning to enjoy the whole sound journey. The variety of sounds and instruments really made the experience rich. The ability of Ruth and Brillo to hold the space with their sound, voices, and presence allowed it to be a regenerative and nourishing experience!! I felt extremely relaxed at the end and came out of the journey with clarity, feeling lighter in my body and mind. Thank you so much for sharing the beauty and power of sound! I went to a sound journey experience in Westbury on Trym village hall, the setting itself is an old church and was the perfect place for all the sounds to reverberate so that you are fully bathed in them. It was such an ethereal experience, the different sounds struck different chords and memories from within me. Ruth and Brillo were excellent clearly explaining the journey before hand and were so in tune with each other to move seamlessly from one sound to the next, it was clear that they also had the depth of knowledge and experience to move through the frequencies of sound in a safe way. Would recommend to anyone.

If the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation (afterglow of the Big Bang) had a sound, it would be a crystal bowl : everywhere, all at once, even inside me! All the instruments were beautiful to absorb; yet the power and clarity of the crystal bowls elevated me in a wonderful way, thank you.
