My experience.

5 years ago, I began my journey exploring Star Stable Online. I saw the ad on a Youtube video, and I was enthralled, invested even. I was 11 years old at the time and looking for something to do. My greasy little laptop kid fingers were itching to game. I was a massive horse girl at the time and the idea of being able to ride a horse and buy my own tack was amazing. But now, this leads me to the present day.

Where my standards for Star Stable Online have fallen and my passionate love behind it has crumbled. Recently, I told a friend to download it. My friend is American and I am Australian. I just wanted to play a new game with my friend and I thought that Star Stable was the one. First flaw we noticed was the pricing, 3 years ago it was 69.95 dollars and it has increased by approximately 10 dollars. This is OUTRAGEOUS and absolute BLASPHAMY. I get inflation is a thing, but a multi billionaire company should not need to increase the pricing by that much within just a few years.

Now, my next point is the stupidity behind regional servers. As previously mentioned, I am in the Australian region whilst my friend is in the American region. I wanted to play Star Stable Online with my friend and I asked him to change his server to mine. This is how we discovered you CANNOT change your server freely. I feel as if my rights as a human have been removed. This must be national origin discrimination because you are trying to separate two different regions just because they are in separate places in the world.

This leads me to my THIRD point, I have experienced a lot of racist things in this app and nothing has been done. I have seen many people bypass the chat filter and it is ridiculous that there is no reporting feature. Star stable takes it's sweet time replying to you, and this doesn't help when you are trying to get unbanned for something you did not do.

I spent almost 100 dollars on this game and it has been my biggest regret.
DO NOT BUY! IT'S A MONEY GRAB!

Its the best horse game!

I love this game so much. People say it's just a game, but I Played it today and rode my favorite horse, Blaze. He is a Belgian Warmblood and I have had him for a while, and I just got 10k star coins and bought a bunch of horses and haven't been riding him much. So, I took him for a trail ride in golden leaf. I don't know why but it was so magical on a mountain looking at Star Stables realistic water on a horse I have many memories on made me feel emotional and it was one of the best feelings. It's an amazing game!

does not give warnings of being banned

Unfortunately, my experience with Star Stable has been negative due to an unexpected permanent ban from the game without any prior warning. Despite having the account since 2017 and investing money in it, there was a lack of clear communication and a fair warning. This has significantly impacted my perception of the game and its company policy. A good gaming experience should involve transparent communication and fair actions to avoid similar situations.

I loved this game back in the day

I loved this game back in the day, I still play but that is mainly because I have a lifetime account which I purchased long ago, and it is still a nice game - it's just not the same. I am not saying that games don't change, because they do and they have to, but the whole storyline seems different and the mysterious lore and the scary but exciting part of the game seem vacant. Some old quests are deleted/changed drastically, they often have misspelled words and errors in the quests and many bugs. They provide us with main story quests nowadays but they are extremely different and (imo) don't really fit in with the previous story from a few years ago. The players who have been playing for a long time (me included) barely remember the entirety of the story line + they have changed it, so what is even left untouched and what has been removed/changed? We can't know. The game has potential to return to its previous popularity if they only listened to their older players, we don't mind the new horses or side quests - BUT LISTEN TO US. Maybe try to not change the storyline, try to re-add some realism, where has it gone? The game is full of magic now, what happened to being a normal girl going to Jorvik to ride horses over the summer, and then in secret realising you obtain magical powers, instead of EVERYONE knowing of it?

Star Stable the Greedy Bore

There is barely anything to do in this game, you can essentially just do the same races over and over again, so you can only enjoy it when you buy new horses, but one pixel horse can only be bought with star coins, which require real life money.

The price for one horse is about 20-25€, that is outrageous, soooo much greed it's downright disturbing, especially for a game that markets itself to children.

Other issues:
-The players are also horrible to each other in the chat
-There are a ton of cheaters in the game making it unenjoyable for people who try to win races
-The game is FILLED with bugs that do not get fixed for months on end
-SSO promises updates and changes and then drops them without a word
-Horses that you have paid a lot of money for tend to break after a while or they change the gaits, which is not what you paid for
-They keep bringing out tack that only fits maybe 3 breeds (if you're lucky, might just be one)
-The in-game economy is utterly broken
-Prices don't make sense, some items cost 10k shillings or 100 star coins while others are 9k shillings or 125 star coins (this should be consistent)
-There is a jorvic shilling limit. Why, you ask? Well it's to force players to spend real life money on tack and clothing items because if the limit is 10k shillings and the items cost 10k shillings it's extremely hard to get and afterwards you don't even have enough money to use a trailer to travel across the map

The only reason I give it 2 stars is because I really used to love this game and the graphics are nice (if a bit too saturated), I started playing 10ish years ago but the company is going in an entirely wrong direction. I hope things will change, because I certainly don't see myself supporting them anymore.

Star Stable gone BAD

Let me preface this by saying that star stable has been one of the most amazing horse games to date. There are many horse options and quests to do.
However, as of late, the game has gone to trash. This company does NOT care about its community. They really don’t even when they say they do. All it wants is money. The company throws out new horse models faster than anyone can save the currency used to buy new horses. To buy the currency used to buy horses, is to break the bank. It’s way too expensive to buy.
The game is filled with bugs and glitches. Some are harmless while others really cause a dent in the game and makes it unplayable.
To top it all off.
Star stable has made the wonder wonderland (my favorite time of year in game) awful! This year they expect players to reach a goal of 18,000 points to bring back the winter magic. The problem with this? You barely get these points!! No way that the vast players are going to be able to reach this.
Another staple, happening for almost 10 years is the Christmas gift they give every year! They did not give this gift, the gift of star coins. Star coins are used to buy horses. A tradition of about 10 years, gone. No mention of it and instead the company is trying to cover and do damage control. The company 1,000% knows that players look forward to this EVERY year and I do not believe for a second that they wanted to bring better things to the players as they only gave poor stuff to the players this year. This gets worse every year and this year is the last straw for many. Many players have decided to not play star stable anymore. I was thinking of buying lifetime and now I am so glad that I did not buy it.
This company has grown greedy, inconsiderate, and turned on its players.
I believe Mr. Sands is the one who runs this company but at a greater level of evil. (Mr. Sands is one of the villains of the game)
I have loved this game for years and played frequently but now I believe that it is time to leave this game behind.

So greedy it hurts

So greedy it hurts. About a week ago I paid a reduced amount of money for life time star rider. After purchasing, it said I would receive 1200 star coins instantly. It didn’t give me 1200 star coins. I contacted the company to ask what’s going on, and they said “that must have been a technical error”. But nothing else, no reimbursement, nothing. So I let it slide because I know how star stable can be listening to their players. A week passed and I didn’t receive any star coins as life time star riders usually get per week. I messaged again and this was their response “Due to the price being low, we took out the 100sc weekly. This is not included in this bundle”. Absolutely outrageous. So I just payed £36 I think it was, for life time star rider and I don’t get any benefits other than using global chat and visiting star rider only places?!?!? Disgusting. I would not have purchased life time star rider if I knew that I would not receive star coins. Now the only way I can get them, is to buy them. I will not be logging on to sso again. Goodbye.

The game is not worthy of your money.

This game is incredibly bugged, (visual glitches like stuff randomly appearing in the characters hands, and even more serious bugs like the game kicking you off for "suspected cheating" even though no cheating was done). Star Stable has done nothing about these glitches.
Not only is this awful game filled with bugs that make the game difficult to enjoy, the company is very, very greedy, and ungrateful to the players. Star Stable refuses to listen to what the community wants. Each (newer) horse model will cost a player about 900 'star coins' and 1000 'star coins' will cost you 32.95$ (CA). On what planet is a pixelated horse worth 30$+? That is an insane price to pay for a game that is barely enjoyable.
The game is only enjoyable because of the community in it. However, the bugs and the careless and selfish attitude of the company make this game not worth your time or money.
I do not recommend this game to anyone. Here are some better horse games:
-Horse tales: Emerald Valley Ranch
-Plenty of decent horse themed games that are better than star stable can be found on Roblox
-Tales of Rein Ravine (unfinished, but shaping up to be an excellent game).
-Alicia Online
Please consider these other games before ever spending money on Star Stable, as you'll most likely end up regretting it. If you'd like to see more criticisms of Star Stable, their Instagram's comment section has some excellent points.

Painfully greedy company

Refusing to give in-game currency rewards for holidays and anniversaries is beyond ridiculous! No, this company is NOT struggling financially by the way! They used to give out so many codes for whatever events, now they didn't give at least one Star Coin code this year...
Then not to mention how they did A/B testing illegally too! Hope you get sued, SSE!

Just sell your company to Tencent at this point... they would definitely do a better job at maintaining your barely-functioning game!

Such a shame, this game saved my teenage-hood, the darkest times of my life, and to see it crumbling right in front of my eyes like this hurts me deeply! So much money down the drain...

MONEY GREEDY AND SOULLESS!

Been playing the game since 2012 and it’s gone extremely downhill, the business has become money greedy and couldn’t care less about the community. All they care about is manipulating younger people into paying stupid amount of money on memberships and star coins for a game that can’t even run properly without glitches and bugs. let’s not forget there are cheaters on the game which ruin the experience for many players. The story line has become shambles as there’s many story lines which have been forgotten about and the main plot changes all the time. The graphics are good and the animations on the horses are amazing but that’s about it with the game. If you have good friends and a nice club in the game then yeah maybe it’s more enjoyable, but in my opinion that’s about it. They have also put a bit more effort in with the in game events but in my opinion it’s probably not because of the community and more likely because they want to attract more people and make more money, they couldn’t care less about us (and old players know the community used to be a huge thing for star stable).
So in conclusion, if you want to spend ridiculous amount of money on a now soulless game and collect pretty horses you will ride once, and then read a messy storyline, then get the game!!!

My honest review as an older player

Well I have been playing star stable since 2015 I have seen its ups and downs I have been for a long time I don't really enjoy playing it anymore but seeing as right now they are trying to listen I do want to respect yes they didn't listen first but look now they are trying their best, and we have got to recognize this I truly hope that they fix the characters add more animations let us eat and overall I do think that it can become a good game again it's not the worst out there but I don't think that the pay wall is worth it way to expensive if you ask for a lot of money I except a lot of good stuff not half baked

Beautiful game, but...

It's a beautifull game! It's just the fact that they updated it so that you could play it on a iPhone and a iPad, so I thought "they are working to update it to Android", then a few months ago they released the WORST characters ever, they're fat, their animation really suck. So, please just update it to Android. Second: It takes 10 weeks to get a nice looking, beautifully animated horse. And that's almost one fifth of the whole year!

I am deeply disappointed with my experience with Star Stable. Not only did they wrongfully deduct money from my account despite not renewing my subscription, but their customer service has been extremely unhelpful. When I reached out to ask for a reimbursement, they were unable to link the payment to my email account, and to make matters worse, they couldn't even correctly type my username email address as a reference on my invoice. This lack of accountability and poor communication has left me frustrated and dissatisfied as a customer. I hope they address these issues promptly and improve their customer support to avoid such problems in the future.

Why do they need bank info to close my account?

I found the game hard to follow and hard to understand. When I requested that my account be deleted, the response I got back, asked for the notice I got from my bank showing I had paid. Never mind the fact that I was requesting the account to be closed from the very same email that was associated with my account!
