Major rip-off! Fraudulent is putting it mildly. I would also give this company 0 stars if I could. My elderly mom with dementia orders from their catalogs, and I cancel them when I see the outrageous... See more

Here's the Stauer difference: We don't have wholesalers. We don't pay rent for expensive shops or hire expensive celebrity spokespeople. We go directly to the source and make the product ourselves. Last year we bought 2 million carats of emeralds and 9 million carats of amethyst. The local store might buy 20 or 30 carats a year from wholesalers who mark up their product by about 50%. We’re getting the better deal and we pass the savings on to you. Because at the end of the day, true value comes from leaving $1,600 in your bank account and still being able to own one of nature’s most fascinating gems. Stauer is where you go to honor the triumphs of living. Honoring milestones or celebrating the joy and beauty of the love of your life. It’s the story of history, art, science, of man’s fascination with the beauty of nature. We don’t overcharge you for a little blue box; instead we will take you on the romantic journey of a lifetime.

I bought a watch over $100 - Piece of Junk!

I bought a watch over $100. You would think it would be a decent watch at that price. It was an automatic wind. Well the thing never did keep accurate time, it always stopped before morning when I took it off at night, so it had to be reset every day.
About nine months into ownership, the watch winding mech died. I sought Stauer to see if they would replace it, but since I did not buy the replacement policy, no go, they only offer a 30 day warranty.
Bottom line. If you want to spend that kind of money on a watch, buy from a named brand dealer NOT Stauer. They are cheap and unreliable. (Remember, you get what you pay for, except from Stauer)
A nice man called and said I had $105 credit because I'm a good customer, he at least asked CS if they would do anything about the watch but answered no. Then he asked if I wanted to redeem the $105 credit, BUT he wanted me to give a credit card and pay $19.95 ship and handling. WHY can't they just take the S&H from the $105 I asked....well it's just not done. Well I am done with Stauer and advise others to shop from a more reputable company. Dr. Michael

Refund/Return Policy isn't acceptable.

My daughter picked a pair of earrings out of Stauer's catalog to be given to her as a Christmas present from her grandparents. The earrings were ordered in July, and are non-returnable since 30-45 days have passed. Unfortunately, they are not her style at all, and actually aren't even what she picked out due to a miscommunication. Stauer will not refund the $149. She would have been happy with the offer to exchange the earrings for something she liked. I will not recommend a jewelry company that doesn't care about customer satisfaction even if the return window has elapsed.

Read the reviews prior to purchase.

I ordered a watch some weeks ago, I have not received any notification of purchase. I have attempted to contact Stauer on more than one occassion without success. I wish I had read the reviews prior to purchase! I guess I will have to write this one off and put it down to a learning experience.

Ordered a White silver knot bracelet

Ordered a White silver knot bracelet. What arrived was a dull, oxidized bracelet looking nothing like the ad. Will never buy from them again.
The previous bracelet was also a piece of poor and unattractive work.

I should of checked this site and done…

I should of checked this site and done some research. I usually do, but the ad I saw was in an American Legion magazine, so I figured it was legit. I signed up for the 99 dollar premium membership, and regretted minutes after I ordered. After browsing their website, I noticed the savings are lost because of the shipping, and the salesperson on the phone kept pushing warranties. A reputable company would warranty their watches for at least 1 year, not 30 days.I will have to call Monday to customer service. Hopefully I can recoup the money, If not, I will dispute the credit card transactions.

Backorder Blues - Purchase MIGHT Be Ready 6~8 Weeks

I placed an order the day I received Stauer's brochure. A few days later I checked shipping status. That is when I discovered my item was "out of stock" and had been back ordered. I contacted Customer Service and learned my order would be available in six to eight weeks. Notice that I contacted Stauer, they did not contact me. Stauer took my payment knowing they did not have my purchase in stock then seemed to annoyed when I started asking questions. Stauer mostly sells better quality "costume" jewelry.
Many gemstones are man made and often set in plated metal. Their manufactured diamond is "Diamond Aura" which has received mixed customer reviews. Be aware that Stauer's brochure ads can be photographically misleading, making some jewelry appear larger than in reality and often listing carat weight rather than physical dimensions of pendants and earrings. Stauer seems a good alternative if you can't afford the real thing, but know that as "costume" jewelry, the value will mostly be sentimental.

Ordered a watch at 129.99 plus 6.99…

Ordered a watch at 129.99 plus 6.99 postage. The parcel was left outside in a recycle bin! It required NO signature, no for 6.99 I would expect a signature to be required. On opening, the presentation box was un glued. I could never give this for a Christmas present. I phoned customer service, & the lady was very pleasant. I am returning now I have the code & will be buying from elsewhere (different make obvs). They said my return postage would be refunded, I await to see after reading other reviews. Why is it we STILL buy over the internet without checking the company out. Shame on us I suppose!

Platinum Membership (which cost me $50)…

Platinum Membership (which cost me $50) is a ripoff.

I became a Platinum Stauer member because of the offer of four $50 off coupons with Platinum membership. Most of the items I am interested in are listed in the catalog at an inflated price with "special" discounts frequently offered. These special offer discounts are usually worth the same as the $50 coupons I got for Platinum membership.

When you click on an item to put it in the online cart you are given just one discount code entry. The special offer discount code entry is worth just as much as the membership discount card, so you gain nothing from having the membership discount card. The resultant cost of the item is the same as without platinum membership.

The coupons are worthless as is Platinum membership.

Thank You for the Poor Customer Service; Now l'll save $$. I hope this complaint helps you in the future

After waiting over 23 days for items I purchased. Four phone calls later I gave up on receiving the items. The last conversation I had, via the telephone, with Stauer, I received rude, customer service by a representative, I am intentionally leaving out her name, that seemed not to care about my issue.

On the bright side, fortunately as a result of less than satisfying customer service from their phone rep. I will be saving money, and no longer purchase or, recommend this company.
All catalogs will go from my mail box into the trash. Thank You Stauer!

P.S. I attempted twice to contact Stauer via the link they provided in an email to provide my feedback but their link did not work...HMM? Hopefully they have a recording of my phone call to them to improve future customer service. Or perhaps reading the negative and positive reviews management can make recommendations for improvement.

Cheap and nasty!

Purchased a so called expensive watch from stauer looked like it came out of a cornflakes box. It was cheap looking supposed to be £199.99 wouldn't give £10 for it. Leather strap was made of plastic very light extremely disappointed. The watch was called the Night Shift more like the Night s#it lol. Don't bother and save money and time not ordering there watches. You will only send it back like I did. Dear sir or madam please stop sending your magazine's I'm not interested in your tat!

Poor customer experience at Stauer

They sell jewelry and watches online. Their web site is slow and not set up well. Provides misleading information. You can't have a different "bill to" and "ship to" addresses, or the system gets confused and the order is cancelled!

They also say they don't sell your email address, but thedo sell your mailing address..

On top of all that, their customer service is rude and poorly trained. As soon as I said I had a problem, they offered to just cancel the $600 order.. Go figure.
