A site for retail investors that have some understanding of options…

Steady options is an ideal site for the retail trader that wants to invest in options but doesnt want to day trader or hyperactive trading that some promote.
The site has different strategies ranging from the file and forget for weeks to ones that require a daily moment of attention. The site is also refreshing in that within the different proposed categories new ideas and strategies are developed meaning that you arent left with ": we just do calendars every month.
There is a real level of discussion that is technically possible to follow by the initiated non-professional and focusses on what is relevant for the normal retail trader. I have subscribed for over 5 years and not regretted it even if some strategies didnt work out for me personally. At every stage I learned and became a better trader so that my personal trading is now much more rationally risk managed with fewer and smaller losses when they occur and more consistent wins. There was no year where I closed with a net negative as an SO member except for 2022 but that was due to a hedged long position which was hammered by that year's poor market. The loss was still smaller than it would have been without the SO strategy.

Removal of Scott Batchelar improves Steady Options dramatically...

As a manager of a private equity group, I am constantly exposed to many financial service offerings. Part of my job is to vet them and report on the performances, services offered, and suitability for our members and investors. Having been a paying subscriber to Steady Options intermittently for about 3-1/2 years, at one time I would have given Steady Options a 1 star review.

However, that has now changed due to one thing: The removal of Scott Batchelar as a manager and his dismissal from Steady Options. Mr. Batchelar appears to be a very poor trader with no business advising anyone regarding equity investments. During his years with Steady Options, all but one of his strategies have resulted in spectacular failure and dramatic losses for anyone following his trades. In my research for our private equity group, I never found a single instance where he has offered any other successful strategy in ANY venue anywhere. I found no community in which he hasn't received the proverbial "get out of town" notice from the residents. Aside that, Mr. Batchelar is probably the most distasteful person I've ever encountered. He's dishonest, extremely narcissistic, unstable, and devoid of any semblance of client service skills. He was indeed the rotten apple in the basket at Steady Options, as the other contributors are generally extremely helpful, patient, and polite...the polar opposite of Mr. Batchelar. I would absolutely avoid him and any financial service he offers.

When it rid itself of Mr. Batchelar, not only did Steady Options dramatically improve the client experience, it also shed itself of the only failed strategies in its current offerings. What remains are successful strategies, excellent educational resources, and a very good venue in which to learn unique strategies that have legitimately stood the test of time with excellent, fully documented, returns.

I am a long time member of steady options.
I came across the site when I was looking for a mentor as I was new to the world of options trading.
Fast forward 10 years and today I see a complete transformation from amateur to a professional and very profitable options trader.
I owe Kim and his team for all the skills and money that i have made .
No doubt it was tough and rough ride as I kept challenging myself and Kim and other mentors. But in end, I believe I have achieved what I was looking for.
A consistent steady profit trader.
Losses are minimal and profits are consistent.
I dont really have to say too much. Best is to join for few months and I am sure you will never leave.
Today I do my own trading and use steady options for ideas and community . The community is brilliant . Best and experienced traders.

SteadyOptions is the real deal…

I've been a member of SteadyOptions (SO) flagship service since 2013 having traded options for several years prior. I can attest it is the best educational experience you can get anywhere for learning to be profitable in options trades with repeatable edge IF you're willing to do the work. Do not subscribe to the service to simply try and enter/exit trades to match their performance. Use the service to learn how to spot setups, improve your trade execution, and handle the emotions the market throws at you. There are losing trades no doubt, but these are the exception and not the rule.

The only drawback I have with the service (through no fault of theirs) is the inability to scale up as large as I’d like as your account grows too large. So, I've had to diversify to other trade types as well on indexes which are no where near as robust from account drawdowns. The pre-earnings trades covered by SO allow you to sleep easy at night as they are a mainly long Vega and a mix of long/short Gamma with support from upcoming earnings. (It's almost a free lunch the market is handing you if you put in the upfront work).

I see some negative comments below from people that appear to be unwilling to put in the work to research the trade types for themselves and feel hurt by the replies to go read the site's FAQ's. There are very thorough guides that the contributors put together these people obviously have not read thoroughly. I for one get sick of repeated questions of missed fills, simple questions covered in these guides already etc. I think many of the long-term members feel the same. That's trading, get over it and learn. The service results are real but don't get pissed if you can't match the results as option pricing is very dynamic. There will always be opportunities so just sit tight for the next one. If you stick with the system you will be rewarded.

SO is the only options strategy I work with that has had double digit returns on my accounts for 10+ years. No other trading system I've run across could survive all the different types of market conditions that occurred over the service's lifetime as well as SO. (I hesitate to leave reviews for any trading services but happily do so here as a member who's extremely grateful to have found Kim's service over a decade ago.)

Very happy subscriber to Steadyoptions.com

I've been a member of SteadyOptions.com for over 4 years. It is the best service I've ever tried and of course I stayed. I still learn a lot, the service is very well run and my profits on SO official and SO style (trades I've done by myself with what I learned at SO) trades have been consistent. I read some of the negative reviews and I don't think they are talking about the same company or maybe they are competitors because the problems/issues they have don't even sound like Steadyoptions. However, SO is not a very expensive service compared to others and if you are curious or unsure because you read a negative review, you can subscribe by the month. On pizza money trade per month would pay for the subscription fee.

Best Options Education by far

I found SteadyOptions through an article by the founder, Kim, on Seeking Alpha. I've been a member since then and it is the best trading service that I have had experience with.

The amount of articles available for the different strategies, and the availability of Kim and the mentors make this service a steal in my opinion. They trade the strategies themselves and explain the reasons, and if it is not immediately clear, just ask, and they will respond.

One caveat though, is that you need to put in the work. You need to read the posts and take in the knowledge, to apply to yourself and your own risk tolerance. There are always folks who do not want to learn and adopt a "just tell me what to do" approach, and they are usually disappointed they aren't getting the same results as those of us who take the time to learn.

If you are someone who likes to gain deep knowledge of option trading strategies, and would like to join a community of like-minded individuals, then I highly recommend giving SteadyOptions a try.

Options for the long run

I've been with SteadyOptions since inception, and it's expanded its services into several strategies. There is the flagship non-directional strategy service, a long-term SPY hedged service, a call spread strategy, an option collars strategy, a volatility strategy, and most recently a strategy based on bond yield and crude.

I currently subscribe the the flagship service, the call spreads, and yield strategies. It takes effort to learn the strategies, as the service is much more than a trade alert service. While there are trade alerts with screenshots of real fills, members will be disappointed if they rely on it solely as a trade alert service. The issue is that markets move quickly, and the fills can be fleeting. To get the most out of the service, you need to really learn the strategies and adapt to the current market conditions.

That said, there's a tremendous community with frequent communication from senior contributors and the head trader himself. The education is unparalleled, and well worth the effort. If you're willing to put in the work, the service is the best in the business.

Take your option trading to the next level

I’ve been following Kim since over a decade now when he was posting on ‘Seeking Alpha’ and when he started out on yahoo forums. He has since set up his own site and I’m still using the service. What is great about Steady Options, is that it’s not just selling ‘signals’ that you blindly follow (you can do that but that way you don’t learn much) but it seeks to educate you how you can create your own signals and trades. If you put the time in you not only learn about options mechanics but trading discipline, position sizing and many other things that are the basics of successful trading. Kim has build a great community ranging from Newbies to trading veterans many of them are super helpful and answer your questions if you are new to trading. I still find value after all this time as people explore new trade ideas and strategies that I would not have come up with myself.

SteadyOptions.com : simply the best

SteadyOptions.com is the best options trading site I have used in my 7 years of trading options. I can say that I have tested around ten sites offering options trades and analysis but none is as transparent, clear and honest as SteadyOptions.com. All trades offered are led by competent people and explained clearly by their manager. Furthermore, the results displayed are the results actually obtained and ALL results are displayed, trade after trade, without ambiguity. As an options trader I can only recommend this site.

Steady Options; if you are or want to become serious about trading options

Been a member for just over four years. As others mentioned, SO is not a get rich quick scheme. Trading options SO style requires effort but that effort is rewarded with the ability to consistently generate realistic but very impressive profits in a sustainable manner. That last point should not be glanced over, traders can extract incredible profits for a period of time only to see a few bad trades whipe out all those gains, risk management is that all too often overlooked essential ingredient, at Steady Options, its front and center making those profits sustainable. SO is transparent about its performance, easy to verify too, its real. I also see that some reviews are suggesting that anyone can just replicate this without going through the nuances of how SO trades their, primarily long vol, strategies, but nothing could be further from the truth. If you are serious about trading options and are willing to put in the time, SO is one of the few truly serious services out there. Their lead traders are the best in the business, hands down.

Honest, transparent and very educational options trading forum

Honest, transparent and very educational options trading forum

I joined the Steady Options forum in 2017, and have been an active member since then. The structure and methods of the Steady Options community are very conducive to learning and consistent trading.

Personally, I came in with about a year of rudimentary options trading experience. Learning the lingo of the options community in general, as well as some terms specific to the Steady Options forum, and understanding the dynamics of options trading took a while. But being a learn-as-you-go setup, its been an engaging, educational and quite fulfilling experience so far. The best part about the forum is the flexibility it offers to members with different trading styles.

The forum is led by the owner, Kim, and a team of contributors and mentors, all of whom started as just ordinary members. Each has their own style - both trading as well as communication - and they, as well as the members themselves contribute to lively discussions on a daily basis.

The forum offers a continuous stream of trading ideas, some of which are originated by the contributors, and others by the members. The rationale behind each trade is explained, analyzed and debated. Members are free to copy the suggested trade, make their own modifications, or skip the trade if it doesn't fit their personal risk appetite.

While there are some opportunisitic speculative trades now and then, the bulk of the trades are geared towards consistent and steady (as the name suggests) growth. Kim and the team offer a disciplined approach to trading, keeping a wary eye on trade size, portfolio allocation and risk management. Of course, there are occasional trades that fail, but the careful attention to risk allocation by the team serves to buffer the losses.

One thing I found very noteworthy was the performance reporting on the forum. Steady Options reports every single trade they have made - win or lose - going back more than a decade. While that itself is reassuring, the gain/loss reporting is based on the initial amount invested, so it mimics real business performance. That is, the margin locked up by the broker is counted as the initial investment, since it is no longer available for any other use. This stands in stark contrast against other sites/forums who report their performance to exaggerate actual gains or mis-state actual losses. So coupling the transparency with the calculation method and actual annual performance inspires confidence and trust in the forum service.

The members themselves are spread across the world, and each brings their own style and perspective to the forum. Those who aren't satisfied with the service are usually the ones who expect Steady Options to be a trade alerting service, which it isn't. One of the mantras of the forum is to learn the trade, and make it your own. Existing members, many who have been around for multiple years as I have, use the trade ideas offered by the contibutors and tweak and manage them on their own. The contributors' trades are simply used as inspiration while reasearching and setting up our own trades.

Personally, I've settled on options trading - specifically with Steady Options - as an "occupation" in retirement, since it has all the elements required to keep the mind active. There's some risk, some math, some research and analysis, some wealth, and lots of continuing education.

Robust and reliable options strategies, great community, very profitable.

I've been with the service for over 8 years, and here is my experience :
1) It requires hard-work. The system they use (mainly calendars and straddles) is a very robust one, but it requires a few months at least to really become skilled at this. It's not a get-rich-quick strategy, and that's what I liked about it. There's no false promises of massive returns, but with hard-work, it's possible to make a very good return, like I have done.
2) Transparency. Every official trade comes with a screen-shot of the actual fill. This can be verified using 'Time and Sales' data on our brokers platform. Also, when a trade makes a loss, Kim and the others are very open and honest about why it happened. No cover-up, no hiding, no pretence.
3) Great supportive community. The forum for the Steady Options website is one of the best things about the service - there are dozens of posts, ideas, comments etc by members and mentors, so plenty of opportunities to trade.
4) They doesn't give you a fish, they teache you how to fish. This is the key. I've learnt how to fish now, so I don't even take the official trades very much, as I know how to design a trade myself.
In summary, Steady Options has been very rewarding for me, and I have become a consistent and profitable trader. Highly recommended.

Absolutely horrible experience with …

Absolutely horrible experience with the service and subscription. This is a one-man shop, and I'm not sure if it's his non-native English (he is Israeli) or just his inflated ego and snarky attitude but the communication was abhorrent. He will treat you like scum and any attempt to obtain information or ask questions will result in him insulting you in some way or another. He scours the web every day for anything written about his service and site, and then writes a book trying to defend it against all criticism as he is not open to feedback/constructive criticism and has an extremely fragile ego.

Avoid at all costs! His trades are basically calendars and long straddles. You can easily replicate/model the trades by taking a look at the trades listed on their performance page, analyzing them on TOS OnDemand or thinkback on the dates listed. Just paper trade for a few months and voila. Also note that all their trade ideas come from Jeff Augen's option books.

Avoid this imposter and his services!

Edit: Looks like he has responded to this review, and he is lying once again. I was indeed a member last year. Just let it go, dude. This is exactly why your service sucks - you are spending more time and energy scouring the web trying to defend your bruised ego than actually researching and trading.

Dear Ed,

We had a short email exchange 6 years ago, but it never turned out to paid membership. As I mentioned to you, based on our email exchange, our options trading service would not be a good fit for you. How can anyone discuss strategies that we implement without ever using the service?

If you were a member, you would know that our website has 6 contributors and 8 mentors, so definitely not a one man shop. Also, our calendars and other strategies are not even mentioned in Jeff Augean books.

As a side note, your review also smells racism.

Despite the fact that the reviewer was never our customer, Trustpilot refused to remove the review.

Attitude(bad) and ego - to sum things up. I don’t care what the performance of the service is. Please be advised that this reviewer was a victim of an Indian fraud company called Steady Option (a name similar to ours), but he reviewed our site.

Steady option website has created fake forex website and android app to scam investors in India. Website details link is as below.

https://in.steadyoption.net/#/

This is the company Prasanna reviewed. He mentioned an app, we don't have an app. He mentioned that he invested Rs. 30000, we don't take people's money and invest it. We are a subscription based service, members pay us a subscription fee and we teach them how to trade. Steady option was an Indian company. We are SteadyOptions, a company based based in Canada.

This is clearly a different business.

The review should be removed.

After providing a definite evidence that the review is not about our product, trustpilot still refused to remove it.

A very legit outfit with great strategies

SteadyOptions seems to be a legit investing service.

I do have a bunch of caveats but I will still give them a 5 star because they are honest about what they can do and transparent with their community (this is a hell of a lot more that can be said about most investing services). They have an incredibly active community of subscribers and if they lied or steered customers wrong, the community would be able to lash back.

They have multiple services. I tried their premier service briefly but quickly decided it was not for me. It's a strategy focused on earnings reports that offers the hope of 100% returns (seemingly genuinely calculated, not the phony-baloney returns calculated by so many services). But the list of caveats is huge. They recommend that your account be no larger than $100K. This is clearly because so many people are trying to crowd into the same trade at the same time precisely because they are so successful that you even have to buy another service to know whether you should enter in or not at the going rate and then spend a huge amount of time trying to get your order filled at precisely the right price to make it worthwhile, etc. It's a big hassle. If you don't have anything else to do and can respond with lightning speed to all trade alerts, this might be a decent way of turning a $50K account into $100K the next year. But for me, this is unworkable. And for anyone hoping to turn $500K into $1 million the next year, forget about it. You probably won't get enough options contracts to make it worthwhile.

They have other innovative investment methods, however. The one I opted for is called Anchor Trades. It's an approach that uses options to essentially track a specific index like SPY or QQQ. But the strategy basically tries to goose returns by adding leverage possible from using options but then also adding a hedge against major downside. The strategy further tries to pay for this hedge using a calendar spread (buying a far-off option but then selling a more near-term option at the same strike). The latter is intended to capture theta value (time value decay) in calendar options to pay for the hedge that so that mostly what you are left with (if all balances out) is a leveraged position in the underlying index while also providing the downside protection. It's a brilliant overall approach but I have not seen it through all cycles so I can't vouch for it long-term, although the general math seems to work well. The general strategy seems to cap downside at roughly 9% in crashes (and even making money in big crashes) but giving major upside potential with options leverage.

This approach does not do well in flat and slightly declining markets. So expect to lose money there.

Their other investment methods are more conservative and I have not tried them out. But these guys are generally the real deal. They know their options well and are quite transparent. You might see some negative reviews of the premier service they offer because of disbelief of the crazy returns but most of these reviews are without any actual experience. After a lot of research, I determined that they are both believable returns but not necessarily ones that an average investor can get due do to all the difficulties placing trades to match what they did. The company has seemingly done nothing to hide this. It is what it is.

So if you stick with one of the more conservative strategies, I think you will likely get what they advertise. With the most aggressive strategy, maybe you will succeed but caveat emptor.
