Extremely Disappointed With Both Hat Quality and Customer Service

I’m writing this review out of sheer frustration and disappointment with Goorin Bros, both regarding the quality of their hats and the way their customer service team handled my case.

About six years ago, my husband and I purchased a couple of Goorin Bros hats during a trip to the US, at the Boston store. We were told these hats would be a lifetime investment thanks to their quality and durability. However, despite only wearing them once or twice a year and taking meticulous care — always storing them in hat boxes and handling them gently — the hats began to deteriorate quickly. The structures at the joints became visibly damaged, to the point they almost fell apart after minimal use over six years.

Naturally, we reached out to Goorin’s customer service hoping for some advice or assistance, fully expecting the brand to stand behind their product, at least in some capacity given the high price and promises made. Unfortunately, what we encountered was an entirely unsatisfactory and dismissive response.

The support team repeatedly emphasized that the hats were out of the 1-year warranty period. They insisted that structural damage like ours was due to normal wear and tear and hence not covered — even though we had only worn the hats 6-12 times total over six years! This defies logic and the very concept of “wear and tear.” How is this a reasonable lifespan for what was sold to us as a durable, lifetime piece? We asked if they genuinely believe such minimal wear would cause the hats to “practically fall apart,” but we received no acknowledgment of our concerns.

To make matters worse, the company admitted they have no repair program whatsoever. Instead, they casually suggested we find a local hatter in London (where we live) to try and fix what we consider a product failure. This is laughable given the hats were bought from Goorin and we expected better support or even goodwill efforts considering the disappointing early deterioration.

We also tried escalating the issue via photos and multiple emails, but the responses never changed. The initial replies were generated by an AI assistant that repeatedly quoted policies without empathy or practical solutions. When a human did respond, their message still boiled down to “sorry, it’s out of warranty, no repair or compensation, find your own repairer.”

This entire experience has left me feeling that we were oversold on product quality and undersupported as customers. Hats that fall apart after so little use are not what I consider high-quality. And a brand that won’t even offer any option beyond cold policy enforcement has lost our trust entirely.

I sincerely hope Goorin Bros takes this feedback seriously and considers extending better warranties, improving product durability, and treating customers with more empathy and goodwill when issues arise. Until then, I cannot recommend this brand or their hats to anyone looking for genuine quality or aftercare.

Overpriced "junk" caps

Overpriced "junk" caps. I recently purchased "The Panther" black on black fabric/mesh cap in Cartagena, Colombia at a JAGI CAPS kiosk inside a mall. They "ripped" me off for over $65.00 when the actual "list" price on the Goorin.Com website is $40.00. I went to return the cap within 15 minutes after purchasing it, and JAGI CAPS was unable to refund my credit card since their manager wasn't there. Totally unacceptable!!! Realistically, this cap is in no way worth the kind of money Goorin, or JAGI are charging for it. Don't buy from either one of these companies. Their prices are inflated for nothing more than a cheaply made "baseball-style" cap.

Goorin Bros cadet cap

I recently ordered the newly offered cadet cap and found it to be a cheaply made version of the former style. It is no longer lined and does not seem worth the 65$ price tag. Disappointed for the first time ever by a Goorin Hat.

I will buy again

I bought one of their color-changing trucker hats and after a while the colors weren't changing when under the sun. I sent them an email explaining the situation attaching a picture of the hat, explain that I bought it at a local shop in Italy and they immediately offered me a replacement. It's just arrived and I am happy for their support. Thank you!

Refusal to be Accountable

The shipping address auto filled incorrectly to a random hotel. Their system gives no way to edit orders even within minutes of making it. Then when customer service responds they say hopefully I am in the area. Then says to bad their are no edits to orders once they are made.
I have never met such terrible customer service and I've eaten at fast food restaurants across America.

This company doesn't want to take the blame for their errors. Bad seller - customer relations

I purchased multiple Fedoras ($$$) from Goorin Bros at their local store. I decided to purchase hats online thru PayPal which I use regularly with online purchases. My account information is registered with PayPal and is Always used without opening an online account with sellers. They used my shipping and billing address for All products. Goorin Bros decided to ship my hats to their store location which doesn't exist because THEY CLOSED that store location. I did not receive the package and they are telling me that I'm at fault for having that closed store's address on my account which I didn't have. They refuse to replace the product or refund me until they receive the hats back! Basically, if they are not returned they will not refund me. They have No loyalty to their customers, just greed. Customer Service kept making it seem like I was at fault and didn't care about my explanation, How do you send product to a store that YOU CLOSED!!! Buyer Beware.

Went to their store in deep Ellum for…

Went to their store in deep Ellum for an interview and was told “when I first looked at your resume I was not going to interview you because you were over qualified and your resume looked intimidating.” After they proceeded to tell me they think I didn’t have enough experience even though I literally had experience in what I was applying for and instead introduced me to the store next to them just to get rid of me. Then they had told me that another person was supposed to get in contact with me for a 2nd interview and to “keep an eye out for it” which never happened. Overall I felt like they tried to put me down for having gone to college and tried to get rid of me and made me feel not welcome at all even though I was respectful and nice even after everything the interviewer said to me. If I was the owner I would feel bad and really concerned that my “hiring manager” was being rude to fellow interviewers. Never in my life have I ever heard such rude and unprofessional comments from a “hiring manager.”

Freight Carriers Fault.

This review is for there online service.
Everything goes well until your expected purchase does not arrive. For the last four days it has been out for delivery, even though it’s not directly Goorin Bros fault, you would think they would accept responsibility, they blame the carrier fedex. They say it’s out of there hands. Yet they have my money. I will never again make an online purchase from them.
Remember the carrier is an extension of your business.
