They won’t give you a refund after downloading game content even if you purchased the game 45 minutes before hand. I downloaded college football 25 and found out I couldn’t create a player so I no longer wanted to play the game, didn’t even play a game at all and they won’t refund me because I downloaded it. Stupidest reason ever how are you suppposed to know if you like a game if you’ve never even played it! Bad refund customer service
Was asking about a refund for when i bought a dlc for a game I was gamesharing but didn't realise it wouldn't work as i assume it was because they were owned by 2 separate accounts. This isn't really clearly stated anywhere from what i could find. Regardless, after contacting support, they said the refund was ineligible for a refund as i had downloaded it, despite saying under the conditions for returns 'unless faulty'. I understand that it may not be considered faulty, but no explanation, and as i was typing to ask for clarification, they just ended the chat. (They asked if there was anything else they could help with and gave me about 5 seconds to respond before ending the chat).

Bought a game from the PlayStation store gta5 after downloading the game I tried playing the game and it says I need to buy the game again! They operate like a scam business! I tried all the support chat help and did what they instructed to no avail. Then got a email link to get a refund after waiting ages and giving all the details they asked the system crashes. Spent way too much time waiting for Sonys chat experts. Please don’t buy anything from PlayStation store , they make it hard as possible to get help, they have emails that you can’t send to . Was down and Sony doesn't give any money back. They give more days but that's not the same as giving money back. I would not recommend to buy any PS plus subscription in any form.
Don't buy a playstation
If you want to get a great console, from a company that has no interest in providing quality customer service, sony is your brand. Want to pay for online service that nearly every game requires, just for the service to be down leaving you with a $500 paper weight, sony is for you. Absolutely horrendous customer service
Absolutely horrendous customer service! First, it takes a lot of patience to even get in touch with someone at the Playstation Store and then when you do, their customer support reps are atrocious. The first rep I spoke too was hard to understand so I asked if I could be transferred to a different agent, he ignored my request and kept on talking. After I politely asked again, he mumbled something and hung up on me.
Originally I called because I had purchased a pre-order digital copy of a PS4 game. It showed I had successfully purchased it, but it was not showing up in my library. I tried using their support videos, chat, etc. After no luck, I called support (the number was not listed anywhere on their website, thankfully I found it by googling). After this experience, I called back and got a full refund. I ended up buying the physical copy from Gamestop instead.

I bought some gift cards from my local coop store for my sons Christmas gift. When we redeemed them they had already been redeemed. The Coop couldn’t care less and now I have been trying since December 2025 to contact PlayStation on the worst customer support platform known to man. Complete crap and goodbye £60.

Imagine being a corporation worth $133.84 billion (yes, billion with a "B"), yet refusing to refund $7.49 to a loyal customer over an obsolete policy. That’s the situation I’m currently facing with Sony PlayStation.
I purchased a game from the PlayStation Store using my PlayStation VISA card, unaware that it required a PS Plus subscription to play. Nowhere was this restriction clearly indicated (there wasn't a pop-up message warning me that PS Plus is required to play the game prior of purchase). After discovering this, I immediately deleted the game and contacted PlayStation customer support, only to be told that refunds are denied once a game is downloaded—no exceptions, even if the game is unplayable and deleted from my system.
To make matters worse, when I mentioned disputing the charge with my bank, I was warned that my account could be suspended or terminated. Let that sink in: Sony, a company with billions in revenue, is resorting to corporate strong-arming to keep my $7.49.
This isn't just about money; it’s about principle. If Sony can revoke the license to play the game, they can certainly issue a refund. It’s 2025—there’s no excuse for policies that punish honest customers for technological limitations that no longer exist.
Sony, it’s time to prioritize customer satisfaction over rigid, outdated policies and aggressive tactics. Transparency and fair treatment are not optional—they are what your community expects and deserves.

Not only are they falsely advertising games that are not available on PS Premium, it takes HOURS to get through to someone in customer support to get a refund. They've deliberately made it as hard as possible to reach someone. As soon as the Switch 2 is out I'll be switching consoles.

Promised my son Crossfire as Christmas gift. We went online to the store on 12/25 and purchased the game. A few weeks later when reviewing my credit card statement, I noticed a much larger charge of $150 instead of $30. Called PlayStation today and talked to a Daniel. He told me that as I called after a 14 day window that I was out of luck. This in spite of the fact that we have NOT downloaded the 2 extra games that we supposedly purchased, Grand Theft Auto and Planet Coaster. Basically, I have to eat it.
This is what you can expect from these jokers. Their system was glitching like crazy on Christmas Day, and we get it up the you know where. What a joke of a company and ridiculous refund policy. WE DIDN’T DOWNLOAD THE GAMES !!!!!! Only the one we actually purchased.

Breached my consumer rights. I downloaded a game that wont load and they are going to keep my money. Im seeking advice from which and will be reporting to trading standards. It took me over half an hour to get put through to an agent and yet my issue was not resolved. In minutes sony has gone from my favourite companies to my one of my least favourites. I will not be downloading another game as i fear my money will be lost if it doesn’t work.
