StoryLearing. What a great easy way to learn.
I am dyslexic and have tried to learn French with other courses without the slightest success. But, with StoryLearning it is enjoyable and I am learning, which I did not expect (based on other courses I have tried).
The approach to learning is so simple to take in and you are not under pressure to absorb everything in one go. A very well done to Olly.

I have been using StoryLearning for some time now and can say that it is unlike any other method that I have tried. I was a little sceptical at first but the stories are enjoyable and leave you with a sense of accomplishment at the end of each chapter. It is particularly encouraging if you go back to earlier chapters after a few weeks and realize how much more you understand. I particularly enjoyed the accompanying lessons and chance to talk with a real live tutor which left me less hesitant to use the language with other native speakers.

This Story Learning methodology works for me. The lessons are very well thought out and when I have a question, I always receive the support I need. I feel as though Olli and the Story Learning crew actually want me to succeed.

I look forward to the new chapter of the story every day. The pace of new content, expressions, grammar etc is just right. 20 minutes a day and my comprehension and retention of new vocab is notably improving. Would highly recommend to anyone who has a foundation and wants to advance their Spanish.

Fun and effective:
It’s an interesting and fun way to learn the language, and also a lot about the customs and culture of the countries where it is spoken. The stories are engaging .

I'm halfway through the first course of Swedish, and it's going great. The grammar and vocab are given in pieces that make sense for the story, it all works together well.

Best online course I've ever taken. Each lesson is bite sized and pleasant to do. In no time you realize you're learning Spanish!

I took a beginning 10-Day Challenge in Spanish, though I was well beyond this level, because I know this company's methods through the free Story Learning Spanish video series and through using Japanese Uncovered. I thought I would learn new things and I did. Then to my pleasant surprise, the company offered me the intermediate Challenge in Spanish at no charge, since I had participated in the previous one. I learned a lot. Later I decided to take a 10-Day Challenge in Norwegian, a completely new language for me, since I already knew the methods well. I mastered pronunciation in 3 days, learned a lot, and liked the challenge so well that I did it a 2nd time. After 3 weeks, I have a good basic grasp of the language and have continued my learning online.
In sum, the 10-Day Challenges are a great bargain in language learning, they are super effective, the Story Learning method is totally sound as a way to learn or improve languages, and the Uncovered series can unlock parts of your brain that you didn't even know existed. I gave a date in Nov. 2024 for my experience, but it was really spread through a few months in 2024. Thank you, Olly, Eric, David, and other team members at Story Learning.

Absolutely changed the way I think about languages. Learning a language is absolutely possible; and, actually learning 2 or 3 more I can see on the horizon. Good stuff here at StoryLearning!

Provides written stories in the target language along with verbal presentation of the stories, a written translation and lessons in grammar and vocabulary. The chapters are progressively (but slightly) more challenging. In short, all that is needed for immersion in a language.

Kerstin and Ollie are INCREDIBLE language teachers!!!
Story learning is DEFINITELY the way to go; it's the closest possible thing to flying to Germany, setting your cell phone to German and living in a sink-or-swim, immersive language-learning experience... but also having an English-speaking guide at your side the entire time to answer questions and explain EVERYTHING in full detail. I would recommend this course to ANYONE who wants to become fluent in German (the language I'm studying as someone fluent in English and took 12 years of Spanish). I'm taking German to connect with relatives and, hopefully, to better enjoy a trip to see Germany. I fully intend on becoming fluent, and StoryLearning.com has made a WONDERFUL beginning on that journey. In under a month, I can hold my own in German "small talk". The other really important thing about this particular organisation is that the people teaching (in my case, Kerstin), makes the proper pronunciations of the German vowels and consonants very clear, which will definitely help anyone from standing out as "a foreigner", as well as idioms, culture, traditions, etc. It's more than a language-learning experience... you will become knowledgeable on everything having to do not only with the language you're studying, but its evolution, the people, and the culture in which that language lives. I can't say enough about this programme, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! You will, too!!!

I have to say, StoryLearning isn’t for everyone. It’s only for those who are serious about attaining real results while enjoying a very fun method of language learning that works naturally, rather than suffering the frustrations and disappointments of traditional boring academic methods. It is a structured system with a “free form feel” founded on the principles of language acquisition by comprehensive input. Sure, it takes work and dedication but the work feels so much more effortless due to the daily feeling of progress and accomplishment. After having learned two foreign languages to high intermediate levels through long arduous traditional methods, I can say without equivocation that using StoryLearning to acquire my third language was a real revelation. Within two weeks I felt foolish for not having found this sooner. Within a period of months I was better in my new target foreign language than in the previous two, and in a very small fraction of the time. What a delight! I can’t recommend this enough to anyone who is willing to try something new, trust the process, do a little daily, and follow the journey to fluency.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention that the company itself is top notch. Olly’s support staff is superlative and really strives to ensure that their customers are made to feel “part of the family.” They deliver on everything they guarantee and more.
Try it and be delighted!

What a refreshing approach to learning German! The story is engaging and interesting, with audio and transcripts introduced in an ideal manner that allows absorption of the material without feeling overwhelmed. Exercises at the end of each chapter seem more like a challenging fun game instead of a chore. Corresponding lectures on vocabulary, grammar, and additional communication skills are relevant and useful. This course will greatly increase your ability to function at the conversational level in everyday life.

I have completed the two Beginner level modules for Latin American Spanish. This is my first attempt to learn Spanish. I am also enrolled in the VIP program and have an excellent patient tutor (Victor) who has made this entire experience enjoyable and productive. I believe I have attained “Upper Level Beginner” status and am eagerly trying to get to an Intermediate Level. I have learned that the more effort I devote to learning, the greater the return. My listening and speaking skills are developing slower than my reading and writing skills. I am optimistic that my ability to converse will come along as I go through the next two modules. It is frustrating at times to not have a vocabulary that I can bring forth during my speaking exercises, but I believe the words will come easier/ faster as I continue to read as much as I can, and practice speaking with my Spanish speaking friends.

The StoryLearning Method by Olly Richards offers a refreshing approach to language learning. Immersing in compelling stories prioritizes comprehension and real-world language use over memorizing vocabulary lists and grammar rules. This method has helped me tremendously. Thanks Olly and your team for all you do to put fun into language learning.

I learned Italian from scratch and completed from beginner level to advanced. Am I at C1 level? No, but the question is tricky. I can understand conversations at native pace and can converse at reasonable level. I also completed French at advanced level. I had a head start, but all skills at C1 level takes time. I benefited greatly from my experience with these course. It is good to take input at a natural pace and not spoon-fed. These are for people who want a good challenge.

Always found the story interesting and the teaching (in the Spanish course at least) to be really good. You are naturally exposed to the language in context so it makes more sense than just a list of verbs etc in a text book.
I keep coming back to the stories just to brush up a little and get more time with the language. It’s a worthwhile investment of money and time. There is no magic pill of “15mins a day for a month and you’ll be fluent” - you need to get stuck in and spend the time with it - and that’s what this course provides.
Support is on hand if you get stuck with log-ins or something with the language.
It’s not cheap, but there is a lot of content that has had to be created and teachers to be involved so it won’t be - it’s a 10week course - it’s cheaper than 10 weeks with a teacher would cost - it is a good investment in yourself.
I was a total beginner and now I am B2 level in conversation, so for me, it works.
