I contacted Strideon to enquire about hiring a Knee scooter to assist me while my broken foot heals. I spoke with a lovely last Sue who explained the process the options available and prices. I decided to hire a 'Orthomate' for 2 weeks with one week free! Free delivery AND returns were included. I was assured it would be dispatched that same day. By 11:30 the next day it was delivered by UPS, i had email confirmation during every step. The scooter was very easy to assemble with just 3 knobs to secure the seat/handle and frame. very sturdy construction and fantastic to get about the house - the one I ordered can be used outdoors also which will be great for zipping about the place when ready - it is suitable to put in the boot of a car if you need to go out. Thank you to Sue and the team for an excellent service which has saved me outlaying the full cost of one of these. Will recommend anyone to get one of these, as it will be invaluable to aid my recovery sooner.

Following major foot surgery I was under Drs orders to keep my whole leg non-weight bearing for at least 6 weeks. The full enormity of that limitation only struck me when I got home. I had to hop everywhere with two crutches - no free hands! Quickly searching the internet, I found the StrideOn knee scooter and took out a hire arrangement. The scooter was easy enough for my young son to assemble and meant I could free up my hands to prepare food and regain some independence. The simple break on the handle bars meant I felt secure when completing tasks when propped against work surfaces. I was even able to take the scooter in a taxi to a follow up hospital appointment. It was so useful that I extended the period of hire past my initial 6 week period. Can’t recommend it enough!

The knee scooter has helped me from putting my foot down. I am meant to be no weight-bearing and this makes sure my foot is kept out of the way. Crutches were so hard and hurt my wrist - and of course, I kept putting my foot down. With the knee scooter I feel safe, sturdy and independent!
When I broke my foot I thought I would be stuck on the couch for the next 6 weeks, but with the Stride On Knee Scooter I was able to keep my plans. With a bit of practice around my house and learning to use public transportation- as I've always been a car person- I have been able to not only keep my plans but have amazing adventures. I live in Wiltshire and with the aid of my knee scooter I was able to travel to London and Paris! It helped me keep my foot off the ground, no weight-bearing at all. The scooter is fun too- can move quickly especially down hill. Luckily it has a well made hand break so I am always in control. I met lots of people who had never seen one. I was more than happy to tell them all about it, give them a card and answer all their questions- some people even took photos. I'm also a mother of two daughters, 3 and 7, so getting around and helping them has been a must. I'm so grateful to the company for being so easy to hire from and communicate with as I needed to add 2 weeks to my original booking- and then had to add another. Thank you much!

Following a foot operation I had to be 12 weeks in plaster, 6 of them non weight-bearing and 6 weeks partial weight-bearing. My consultant recommended a knee scooter as a way of getting around and an alternative to crutches. I hired an all terrain scooter from StrideOn and well what can I say - this scooter gave me my independence back. I mainly used it outside and it was very easy to get the hang of. It was also very simple for my husband to fold up and put in the boot of the car. I was able to scoot to the local shops or around the garden dead heading flowers or picking fruit - the basket was great for this - and so much more. I even went for a long scoot along the seafront, something I hadn't been able to do for months prior to my operation. Obviously you have to be careful, and look out for any bumps, but you can go at a speed you feel safe and it has very good brakes! The customer service was fantastic - I originally hired it for 4 weeks, but renewed it twice and they were so helpful and there was no problem doing this. Socially it was great as everyone stops to say how brilliant it was! Best of all it was a great way of keeping fit - something I had been very worried about. I couldn't recommend it more - it saved my sanity.

I would have really struggled. It was easy to unpack and erect and a dream to get around on, Stridon made it very easy to extend the hire as well.

Knee scooter. This is a fantastic aid for use after ankle surgery. I am unable to use crutches to to shoulder injury and found this really helpful. It’s lightweight and the knee pad is comfortable and it’s turning circle is really small too. It’s great both indoors and outdoors. The company are easy to deal with really friendly, helpful and efficient and even let me have an extra day until I had to send it back. Many thanks. Would highly recommend Stride On.

Customer service was exceptional. The team were so helpful, emails were responded to promptly. Delivery and return collection of the knee scooter was fast and easy. When it turned out I would need the knee scooter for longer it was quick and easy to extend the hire time.
The knee scooter enabled me to remain active, which made a huge difference to my recovery mentally and physically. It is very easy to manoeuvre both indoors and out. I could scoot around town, into cafes and shops, onto the train etc. it folds easily and fits on the boot of the car. I could also sit on the knee pad and use it as a seat when I needed.
I used it on tarmac, pavements, sand, grass, uneven and smooth ground, up and down kerbs. I even used it to work on my allotment! This didn’t all happen immediately, I was a bit nervous for the first week. But, my confidence grew with use and my quality of life greatly improved. I am strong and fit but crutches are so limiting, the knee scooter improved my recovery 10 fold. Thank you!!

Fantastic experience from this family business. The product was excellent, just what I needed to be able to get about the house in my initial recovery. Service of the company, was top class.

Strideon have supplied their scooters for 2 foot op’s now. Each time, organised, professional & never a problem. Delivery & collection easy. The scooters are robust, stable & strong allowing independence, manoeuvrability & a lot of fun to what would otherwise be a lengthy time on crutches. Highly recommend Strideon.

Excellent customer service. Right from ordering..I could preset my date when I needed it. It was packaged in a returnable box. Very easy set up. It got me around my place of business easily as it was comfortable and fun to ride. I was able to return it earlier than I thought I needed it and they had the courier ready to pick it up next day and reimbursed for the extra weeks I thought I needed it. The week rental was sooo reasonable...I will highly recommend Strideon as they highly service you!

Strideon were super efficient and helpful whilst I was incapacitated for 6 weeks with a broken ankle. My husband who is an engineer was amazed by the quality of the knee scooter Strideon product.

I rented a scooter from StrideOn when I broke my ankle. The scooter came quickly, was easy to assemble, and was easy to use. It brought me so much more freedom than crutches: I could go much further under my own steam with much less effort. The customer service I received was excellent. Any queries I had were answered promptly and helpfully.

I have had life changing surgery on my ankle at 58 years old, I found crutches dangerous and awkward. On my second day out of hospital had an accident with the crutches, splitting my cast and needing a CT scan of my head and X-rays of my surgery. The next day my scooter arrived and I haven’t looked back, It has given me independence, safety and able to move about and have a life whilst long term non weight bearing, I have managed simple household jobs and even shopping which would have been impossible on crutches. I can’t recommend the Stride On scooter enough.

I very rarely post on review sites but felt I had to for people struggling with crutches. This knee scooter was an absolutely life and sanity saver. I was given crutches and a zimmer frame out of hospital after foot surgery. I could not use crutches and the simmer required hopping which when you have not hopped for millennia, was not going to happen. I ordered the Strideon knee scooter. A game changer, so easy to order and so, so easy to use. Every foot surgery consultant / hospital should give a leaflet advising of this amazing contraption.

The Stride-on is an amazing product if you need to keep weight off an ankle. It’s easy to manoeuvre, light, and you can get into quite small spaces, too. It gives you the independence to move around and do things like get to the toilet, or get a snack. The service was excellent, really good communication, friendly and helpful. I thoroughly recommend this product.

I am 59yrs old with significant arthritis and had planned surgery to fuse 3 joints in my ankle plus Achilles lengthening and therefore best part of 3 months expected to be non weight bearing/minimal use of that leg. Advised by surgeon and OT to hire a StrideOn. Fabulous piece of equipment my life without it would have been a misery. Gave me independence within my home and going to outpatient appointments etc. Husband carried it upstairs at night tho it is heavy and a bit awkward. Knowing what I know now, if he hadn’t been able to do that it would have been worth getting something for upstairs as well because it made such a difference as crutches weren’t an option for me. The team at StrideOn were very helpful and I extended my hire for an additional week so 13weeks in total. Delivery and collection were made very easy by the team and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again and thoroughly recommend them. If you are considering this and haven’t found a safe way to manage stairs I also got an IWalk so I had access to my whole house but if I could only have had one thing it would have been the StrideOn! I would recommend for any ankle related need, be it accident or planned procedure.
