Student Doctor Network Expert Advising is a free service allowing pre-health and health professional students to ask questions to a panel of advisors on questions topics ranging from school applications to personal concerns. SDN members wishing to become experts complete a multi-step verification process. Experts must have a history of positive contributions to the forums and expertise in one or more areas of the health professional educational process. SDN verifies the expert’s real-world identity and requires the completion of a non-disclosure agreement to ensure that member questions are kept confidential. The Student Doctor Network (SDN) was founded in 1999 as a nonprofit service to help build a diverse doctor workforce. We achieve our mission by providing free advising resources, tools, and peer-support forums to those who would otherwise not have access to advising services. SDN is published by the Health Professional Student Association, a 501(c)3 nonprofit educational organization.

I used the site a few years ago when I was applying to medical school but I found the information and advice to be rather basic and many times incorrect.
I successfully gained admission to a US medical program when I was told to "pursue another career."
I don't recommend this site for that reason.
EDIT: Someone from SDN replied below and they are spewing their typical BS because they got called out. What a bunch of losers! Just avoid that site altogether. You will get into medical school without all the garbage that exists on their site. Notice, how they are telling you to discard the information in their public forums and to sign up for their confidential advising. These guys are too much.
You guys need to grow a spine. When you offer a poor quality product, you will get a bad review. Stop harassing LEGITIMATE reviewers. It makes you look bad! ...and creepy.

Amazing! I was so lost before posting on the forum, and I got a lot of experts participating and sharing advice. I am much more informed now, and I am eternally grateful to those willing to help!!
As a non-trad student the confidential expert advising is incredible. I've asked very sensitive questions that caused me great concern and the feedback from the SDN experts (many of whom are adcoms) has always been very helpful and prompt.
It really seems like the people responding have a clue of what they're talking about, not just grasping at straws. Nice to have a forum that attracts real people/pros.
A frank and honest forum where the advisors give you candid advice about med school applications, where to apply, when, and what you need to succeed. And there's no hitch, no sales job, because its all free. And the best part, its all anonymous so you don't have to feel uncomfortable. Thank you SDN for creating this website and investing so much time to make it supportive and helpful.
great stuff and quick
Confidential and concise guidance from professionals. Couldn’t ask for a better platform!
