Average food; poor customer service

We had to give our reservation details 3 times before we had even got to our table - ground floor, cloakroom and again just before we were seated…why so many times?! The service was terrible. We waited a long time to be served and each time that we wanted something we had to call the staff. No water top up and staff were constantly taking the drinks menus - we felt like we were being a nuisance. The food choice was limited and the taste average. The green bean tempura was the only stand out dish! The final nail in the coffin was being told after being seated that we couldn’t order any of the set menus because we needed 2 hours to consume it!! Really?! I can’t recommend this restaurant - over hyped

Awful customer service.

Had an early dinner on New Year’s Eve 2025 with friends at SushiSamba in the W Hotel Edinburgh. The service was awful and even after escalating to management are issues were completely ignored.
A real shame, as I’m a regular customer and enjoy the delicious dishes, but not going back.

Was told I couldn’t have diner…

Just arrived at Sushisamba and got told that I couldn’t have diner because my children (13 and 15) were too young… drove 30 minutes for nothing, GM Andrea Gerli didn’t want to make an exception, really terrible service

More than disappointing

Just popped into Sushi Samba in Covent Garden’s hoping to get a good Bloody Mary and sadly received what tasted like salty water. I couldn’t finish it so then ordered a spicy margarita and it was so sweet I also couldn’t finish it. Then tried to order a rose and received what looked like raspberry juice. That was the end of the journey for me any don’t think I’ll be returning to Sushi Samba… ever.

Delicious food, wonderful service by Lakshmi

The food was delicious with an extensive variety of things to choose from. Our lovely waitress Lakshmi welcomed us, guided us through the menu and helped us choose options based on our dietary preferences. She was super smiley and friendly which added to our lovely experience here!

Food was ok but nothing to write home about. Service was a disaster - didn’t deliver one dish then waitress kept looking at her watch and reminding us that we only had 90minutes (we had loads of time and finished our meal in easily less than that). Awful experience considering we spent close to £300 between the two of us (insta-kids next to us spent way less and were allowed to stay for well over 90mins!!).

be careful

I went there with a friend supporting Marta the Dj who played on 29 floor.Once the manager came to me asking if am I with Marta 3 man appeared there gentleman group and the one who was trying on me I refused as I saw a ring on him when my friend who is 70’s age followed them and seat with them as she liked the married man and wasn’t care about that he is married I followed them and that man was extremely sad for not being successful with his picking. Once we left the gentleman’s, Marta was sending us to floor where we wasn’t allowed and when we wanted to leave she was asking us again to go to a floor where we was restricted I really needed to reach her as she has my fur coat. For the struggle we was restricted to get to Marta I got to ask the manager that Marta asking us to go to the floor which is closed and that she doesn’t respond anymore with the manager help finally I could meet Marta downstairs for taking my coat.I was upset for the hassle but I realised after, the stuff was following them roles and Marta should be aware of who where could go. How ever Marta said that the stuff told her that I am on drugs! All night I was in the bathroom two times and I agents so much drugs.I found it very offensive and wanted to make complaints.Marta was waiting us with some Albanian pimp who actually works there but that night he just reached the place and wanted to take us for after party.I saw the possibility of exploitation and that made some sense why we where holding back with the coat.I got in the taxi with my friend straight and I was upset. But the way Marta attached me for being upset was very aggressive narcissistic, abusive and offensive,I felt threatened if I make a complaint I am the worse person.I tried to explain that I will not make actions and asked her to understand that I been offended very much and lets talk tomorrow but she couldn’t understand and she never stoped to agents me,which opened my eyes of everything. She must to have some serious problem with me as while I was asleep she doesn’t stop this aggressive argument maybe cos I refused to being exploited? Than I remembered of some conversations like;a person keep contacting her from sex trafficing explained what need to do and some huge amount of money after she does bring this up serval times I was worried and asked her to tell this person not to harass her and block him, but she doesn’t wanted to break this contact , and now I believe that she doesn’t want to cos she been already involved and getting girls on exploitations while these parties.Maybe her huge anger could tell she doesn’t receive the £800 expected rage for the music without exploiting me successfully?I remembered that she got a council flat in a very short time cos someone did teach her that she needs to come to be disable, what criminal group does teach her that?In two years she got to be mentally disable for a council flat and playing music at posh places for huge money doesn’t make sense … what I know when the mafia targets someone they ask first the person what they want and wish than the mafia provides them those but return things needs to be done. That could explain why actually Marta not mixing her music at non of the events. Some group came to say that they enjoy her music and you know when the bits gets speeded up slowly giving a boost that part the clients was asking her for that but she doesn’t touch the mix table was taking long finally the boost came, other Dj are having no time for chatting leaving the mix table while events as they are mixing the music except Marta. But she knows that she is going to play even at tommorowland? So how do you attend playing on these places without success and putting something on the table,I guess only through powerful connections. She converted people to ask me not to share anything I saw there and make me look bad if I do, I am not gonna try to converse anyone off anything. I am happy to loose all these people whom already I spent too much money and sacrificed a lot honestly I am happy to loose and brush out everyone as I know God knows the truth and no mater if the world going to agents me if God is with me!!!

I had an amazing experience at Sushi Samba! Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the service was spot on. My only small critique would be that it can get a little noisy during peak times, but it’s all part of the lively energy. Overall, I’d definitely recommend Sushi Samba for a fun and delicious dining experience! But an all around great service. I would definitely go back!

Sushi Samba

Sushi Samba - A Royal Experience in Edinburgh

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Sushi Samba with two friends, and I can say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty.

Pedro and Sabato's exceptional service was a highlight of our visit. Their warm welcome and Pedro's personal tour of the hotel, showcasing its unique features, were truly memorable.

One of the staff members stood out for his remarkable kindness and excellent service. Although he mentioned he would be leaving soon, his dedication and warmth left a lasting impression. I am sure his colleagues will miss him dearly, as he truly embodies the spirit of outstanding hospitality. Thank you so much Sabato.

The atmosphere at Sushi Samba and at the hotel overall is unmatched. The decoration, the people, and the drinks create an exceptional experience. I have been there before, and the food is amazing... but I am so excited for all the positive changes Pedro will bring to this iconic place.

A special shout-out to whoever is in charge of HR – you have done a fantastic job in assembling such a wonderful team.!!!!!! haha

In summary, Sushi Samba is hands down the best place in Edinburgh. If you want to be treated like royalty while enjoying an amazing meal in a stunning setting, this is the place to go. Highly recommended!

1000 times thank you!!!!!

Food poisoning

I was excited to try Sushi Samba in Edinburgh, having enjoyed meals at their other locations. The place looked great – stylish decor and an interesting menu, just what I expected from Sushi Samba. Unfortunately, the experience took a turn for the worse.

After our meal, both my partner and I ended up with food poisoning. It hit us almost right away, and I was particularly badly affected, sick for a whole week.

We emailed the restaurant to let them know what happened, but we never got a response. It felt like they didn't really care about what happened to us, which was really disappointing.

So, despite the good first impressions, our visit was overshadowed by this bad experience. It's a real shame, as I had high hopes for this place.

SushiSamba at W, Edinburgh - Good and not so good

Staff and the service were great, and overall the food was good. A few items however were a bit disappointing (chicken skewers and squid). Portions were small and the bill was big - so not great value for money.

Some of the tables are a bit too close and the music was a little too loud. With everyone having to speak loudly, the restaurant was quite loud overall.

Stunning views over the Edinburgh Old Town skyline, so worth a visit.
