Great idea needs some refinement

Great idea to rate green business practice in this sector though the bar was set quite low on the requirements in the test. As a very green business this was a bit disappointing.
The assessment process was ok and fairly smooth (although remote sites with weak wifi will struggle to do the location evidence upload - On the Isle of Arran it took a few goes to get it to work ok) but the idea to prevent cheating was good and the process did work ok in the end.
Some of the criteria did not relate well to the UK For example with recycling you had to evidence 4 bins. We recycle all those types of things (glass, paper, plastic, metals) and on site compost green waste, but do not have 4 bins as all the council recycling is collected together in one bin so only have 3. It would be better to evidence recycling these materials irrespective of how the local council collects the waste (it varies hugely across the UK on how this is collected and bin numbers)
So great idea but needs refinement to be meaningful and we would prefer a higher standard.

Great initiative

The best thing about going through the steps is that it confirms that a lot of what you have done is on the right track, makes you prioritise the small things you have (stupidly) been putting off, and gives you a roadmap and motivation for greater improvements, to your business, your home, and your life.
