Dear Mr Edlund,
thank you for your feedback, although we regret that you were not satisfied with our services. Allow us to clarify the facts regarding your rental.

On June 26, you collected a nearly new Škoda Karoq (only 8,879 km) from us at Prague Airport outside office hours. Upon return, damage to the front bumper was discovered. We would like to explain the context:

Airport handover: We have an office at the Regus building opposite Terminal 1, open until 16:30. After hours, to make things easier for customers, we deliver vehicles to the short-term car park in front of the terminal. This procedure is generally rated positively by clients, as it allows them to get the car quickly after a long flight. You are actually the first client this year who did not find this convenient, and we handle 5–10 rentals per day at the airport this way.

Vehicle inspection: Our staff always check the vehicle with the client at handover, and the condition is recorded in the protocol attached to the rental agreement. In addition, we take full photos of each car so we can document the condition before and after the rental. If we could not prove that the damage occurred during your rental, we would not have charged you anything. If you needed more time, our colleagues would have gladly waited and explained the car’s features.

Payments: We do not charge any “hidden” fees. When you order additional services, you are informed in advance, and the price is exactly as shown in the online calculator and booking confirmation. We offer three payment options – card, bank transfer, or cash (in CZK, EUR, and USD) – so clients can avoid unfavorable exchange rates or bank charges. This applies both to the rental and the deposit.

Damage handling: In cases of damage, we proceed according to the rental contract, but always individually. In your case, the damage was clearly provable. According to the contract, we could have charged 6,050 CZK. However, our service department determined it could be repaired more cheaply, so we only charged 3,075 CZK, fully documented with photos. Many Czech rental companies also charge “loss of use” fees during repair based on § 2951 of the Civil Code. We do not, and we did not charge you anything of this kind.

Pricing policy: Our prices are transparent and reflect the quality of our modern fleet, full insurance, and the services we provide. Like in the hotel industry, there are hostels and hotels of different categories. You can find cheaper companies offering older or less equipped cars, sometimes without full insurance. However, the difference in quality and the risk of something going wrong is significant.

We understand that not every situation is ideal, but we always act fairly, transparently, and according to clear rules. We regret that we could not accommodate you more, but we must handle damages in line with the contract in order to maintain high-quality services for other clients.
