I am an experienced dressmaker but I have picked up valuable pro tips even in the early lessons.

The video instructions are very comprehensive and each lesson builds on the learnings from the previous lessons.

Some of the outfits are a bit dated looking but Tailor Academy has recognized this and is updating them, now.

I have been taking the course for two months and have to highly recommend it. If you are an intermediate seamstress you will learn things every single class. They just came out with a beginner's course which I also got because I just know there will be tips for me there too. So happy I did this, it has taken my business to the next level.

I'm so happy with the Tailor Academy sewing course. The lessons are clear and easy to follow and the garments are fun to sew. The instructor is a European master tailor and he explains in great detail how to cut, mark, alter, sew, and finish your garments -- so they look amazing and fit perfectly. I've only made 4 garments so far but my sewing has already improved so much. Thank you for this wonderful course.

This course is by far the BEST that I have ever taken. I have taken other sewing courses and they have turned out to be useless. And I have worked with seamstresses in the United States who were trained in Ukraine. And their work is superior quality, but could not encourage or teach very well. This course offers so much more because they explain “why” they use certain techniques! Even though these Tailors are in Austria, they answered my questions within 24 hours and were extremely kind and helpful.

If you are thinking about taking this course, don’t think, JUST DO IT! You will never regret it.

The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. The video format is great, allowing for slowing down and fast forwarding. The patterns are simple and it has made me realize that commercial patterns are all variations of these simple patterns. But pattern companies make it seem so tedious and difficult. Tailor Academy has taught me the basic skills to take a daunting commercial pattern and make it easy. Originally I thought the difference in metric and standard measurements would be more difficult, but it really isn't. I actually like sewing with a 1cm seam allowance rather than 5/8 inch. It's much easier. I will say I have had difficulty finding "edge tape" in the US, not sure why that is. Most fusible tape I find is fusible on both sides (hem tape) or bias tape which isn't fusible. The experience has been phenomenal so far. I like having a new project released every 2 weeks. So far AMAZING!! I'm learning so much!

The masterclass has a structured curriculum, like it would be if you learned tailoring in vocational training.

I wanted to be able to increase my skill level as I am a self-taught sewer. I was able to audit the course before signing up by receiving a link to a panel skirt and bow pattern and an instructional video. On the strength of that I signed up for the course and I have not been disappointed.

The videos are clear and zoom in on detailed procedures. They have bookmarks and you can return to play the video again and you can slow them down if you need to.

The instructor is easy to understand and very encouraging. I have no problem downloading the patterns in my size and have the ability to download any or all sizes I need so I can sew for others in my family.

I have learned so much already and know that my skill level will be up to the mark when it comes time to tailor garments I don't yet have the confidence to do - like jackets and trousers.

This is such a great course and it's like having a teacher in the room with you. Very good value for money, I doubt if I could do better in a face to face class. I am building up my new wardrobe that is so different from the clothing in the malls (which I don't find inspiring).

I highly recommend these video courses also for non beginners, because even as a long term sower many of the professional tips would never have occurred to me.
