Scam while buying bike
I unfortunately bought a bike from here. The site looked legit to me and I used the contact form to request details.
The salesman replied to me via Whatsapp and got me to pay him a large fee (4k eur) and told me he put my bike on delivery.
Fast forward 1 week, I got contacted by another dubious person, this time disguised as a logistics handler. He told me I needed to pay an extra insurance to get my bike delivered to Romania from Spain since Romania is not in Schengen.
This obviously rang some bells and I now understood what I fool I was. To my defense, he provided a legit looking invoice, company details which matched one in Spain, a spanish bank account. But obviously this was all fake.
I submitted a police complaint, contacted my bank and the recipient bank to let them know of this. I also reached out to my country’s cybersecurity institution (DNSCA) but there I was told to just wait for the police.
This is a massive scam, and they even come back for more money!!
