This company uses OFF-SHORE, NO ENGLISH!!

After an off-shore sales person finally convinced to have my first visit because my insurance apparently covers it, I book one. I've been waiting over 2 weeks for my appointment while my symptoms get worse. Well, my doctor had technical issues on her end and cancelled. And basically like an oh-well, sorry, they cancelled. And what's to say there won't be technical issues next time? Not s good impression of this company whatsoever. I highly suggest looking elsewhere or you'll likely end up in the same boat.

$658.00 for a late, short session

Doctor showed up 20 minutes late for a 30 min appointment. Then billed two separate CPT codes, including one for therapy which was not conducted. Absolute scam. Billed $658.00 for the session

Predatory and not transparent

Predatory and not transparent. Like many people I scheduled my appointment through the websites assessment where they pair you with a provider. WHERE THEIR CANCELLATION POLICY IS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. I cancelled two days before and received a bill for 100$. I called to dispute it and their "Care Coordinators" AKA a third party call company said they sent in a request for cancellation of the bill. Did not hear anything back for a week and still waiting. Even if you wanted to dispute your bill and point out the logistical flaws, they don't show a timeline of your appointment schedules. HOW CONVENIENT.

Update- They emailed my other email that is not listed in my patient profile asking for me to fill out a survey about how they handeled my case.

I HAD TO CALL to find out my case/billing dispute to have this fee cancelled was DECLINED.

Medication Change/Lack of Appropriate Care

I am an outpatient mental health provider writing to share a professional concern regarding coordination of care and policy transparency at Talkiatry.

One of my clients began treatment with Talkiatry and had an initial psychiatric appointment during which their current medication regimen was significantly adjusted. At the subsequent follow-up appointment, the provider learned that the client had been using medical marijuana. This information was on the forms completed prior to intake. The client was immediately discharged from care following that appointment. No referrals, transition plan, or follow-up recommendations were provided.

This discharge occurred while the client was in the midst of a medication change. Following the discontinuation of services, the client began to decompensate and experienced suicidal ideation. Fortunately, they were able to obtain care through their primary care provider.

As the client’s outpatient therapist, I attempted to communicate with Talkiatry to better understand their policies and grievance procedures, particularly regarding:

Their policy on medical marijuana use

Their protocol for discharging patients during active medication changes

Their process for ensuring continuity of care

In early January 2026, I emailed the organization and received a reply indicating that someone would respond within three days. No response was received. I subsequently called twice and spoke with care managers, who directed me to email a different address. I did email that address and again received no response. On a later call, I was informed that a release of information would be required before any discussion could occur. At that time, the client was psychiatrically unstable and not in a position to complete a release.

This has now been an approximately six-week process without resolution or clarification. As a licensed provider with professional resources and familiarity navigating healthcare systems, I found it extremely difficult to obtain information or speak with someone directly. This raises concerns about accessibility and continuity of care for patients and collaborating providers.

My intention in sharing this review is not to criticize individual clinicians, but to highlight concerns regarding discharge practices, coordination of care, and responsiveness when patients are in vulnerable transitions.

It’s amazing how effective the…

It’s amazing to me how effective the “zoom” type format is. I believe it affords a more direct dialog than traditional “in office” sessions . Feels like a more face to face exchange via a screen than that within a therapist’s office.

Felt heard and supportived

One of my clients actually referred me to schedule with Mr Fabian Escobar through Talkiatry for ADHD support. From the start he was professional but also easy to talk to. He genuinely took the time to understand what I’ve been dealing with and didn’t make me feel rushed or brushed off. I felt heard, which honestly means a lot. He explained everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable with the plan moving forward. The whole experience felt supportive and respectful. I truly appreciate the care and would absolutely recommend him.

This is a very disorganized company

This is a disorganized company. The Care Coordinators live in another country and English is not their first language. Appointments are canceled at the last minute, not good when your doctor is supposed to prescribe a refill at that visit. Too bad if you are out of your medication, you must wait until your doctor has an opening. This company has added so much stress to my already existing anxiety disorder. Please do not use them!

Way too expensive.

Way too expensive.

The pricing feels like a scam — no real value for the visits. I’d ask whether there’s anything I should be learning or getting educated on during these appointments, but there isn’t. It ends up feeling like my access to medication is being held hostage behind recurring fees.

I’m not doing this anymore. I quit and switched to a much less expensive provider. I’d rather save myself (and my insurance company) the money.

Do not trust Talkiatry

This company has been extremely misleading and has caused significant stress. I created a client file and submitted both my primary and secondary insurance. I then received confirmation that my insurance was verified and proceeded to schedule an appointment.

After my initial visits, the provider informed me that blood and urine testing were required before any prescriptions could be issued. The day before my scheduled lab work, I received bills for two doctor visits totaling over $700. When I contacted Talkiatry to dispute the charges, I was told they would “verify my insurance again,” and that it could take up to 45 days for insurance to process payment.

The next day, while I was at the lab getting blood drawn, I received a message stating my future appointments were canceled because I was “out of network.” This was especially frustrating given that I had already been told I was in network. It is unclear whether my secondary insurance was even properly reviewed. I know I have coverage for these types of visits, and I have documentation showing I was informed my insurance was verified.

I continue to receive bills that I do not believe I should be responsible for due to the earlier verification. In addition, I now may be responsible for lab charges that I would not have incurred if I had been informed of the network issue beforehand. Overall, this process has been deceptive, stressful, and has disrupted my care—leaving me without the medication support I was seeking.

I strongly recommend others confirm network status in writing before proceeding, and to do thorough due diligence, as the company appears to operate under multiple names.

Hides Pricing

I loved the therapists I worked with, they were great. What I didn't love is that no one could tell me what the cost per appointment would be, and then they seemed to change with every appointment. My intake appointment was an hour long and $160. Perfect. My follow up, regular 30 minute appointments (with the psychiatrist) where we just said "how are you feeling on the med, ok lets try 2 more weeks" were $400 an appointment! Then she wanted me to do therapy every other week... $383 an appointment.

My least favorite part was they don't let you pick people, they tell you who you're going to meet with. You give them your insurance information and then they picked people out of network for me so it didn't apply to my deductible or anything.

Again, loved the care. If you have extra $$ to burn by all means. Otherwise, no one will answer questions about why the appointments are so expensive, or why they chose an out-of-network provider for me, or switch me to an in-network provider.

This company is a scam

This company is a scam, yes they use real doctors but the problem is they hide their fees and do not talk to you about payment at all. I added my insurance and they said i was good to go. I then received a $800 bill and i refuse to pay. They are now threatening to send me to collections and i dont care. STAY AWAY! Ive spoke to many people on tik tok and various other platforms and they all are saying the same thing. BEWARE!! They reel you in and pin you with a random high bill after a couple sessions.

Avoid Talkiatry at all costs!

Avoid Talkiatry at all costs!

One hour appointment. They billed almost $800. After insurance I was left with an almost $300 bill for just one session, Very different from their "Most patients pay about $30) statement. A total rip-off. The Doctor barely makes $200 a session so the other $600 is just pure greed. Talkiatry is convenient but a rip off.

I scheduled with a psychiatrist

I scheduled with a psychiatrist, and thinking this level provider did testing. I got online for my scheduled appointment. After a 5 minute discussion, we determined this was not the correct professional for what I needed. We ended the call and he cancelled the appointment. I have now been getting bills for $100, this after providing my insurance twice and emailing the email address for insurance. I never received a response to resolve the issue, only a warning about collections.

Defunct Systems

Your systems are not working correctly or communicating properly causing cancellations & not recognizing when I'm online & apparently I'm NOT the only one. Here's what I researched online re complaints related to Talkiatry:

Talkiatry, an online psychiatry provider, has received numerous consumer complaints, with primary issues revolving around unexpected high billing, poor customer service, and technical issues with their platform. Users have reported being charged for services they did not receive, such as unexpected "supportive therapy" sessions, and faced difficulties in getting billing disputes resolved.

Key Problems and Complaints
Billing and Cost Transparency: Many users reported unexpected, high charges (sometimes hundreds of dollars) despite being told their insurance would cover most of the cost. There are reports of being billed for additional "supportive therapy" that patients claim was not provided or was part of a standard evaluation.
Customer Service Issues: Multiple reports describe customer service as rude, unhelpful, and difficult to reach, with long wait times and unresponsiveness to complaints. Some users reported that their inquiries regarding billing were ignored for weeks.
Administrative and Technical Failures: Users have experienced last-minute appointment cancellations, unauthorized changes to their assigned providers, and technical issues with the Healow app, leading to missed sessions.
Limited Scope of Care: Talkiatry is not suitable for everyone; it does not provide treatment for patients on Medicaid, those without insurance, or for conditions like eating disorders, schizophrenia, or active substance use disorders.
Misleading Advertising: Complaints have suggested that the company's advertised, low-cost "as low as $30" pricing may not be consistent with the actual, much higher, out-of-pocket costs some patients encounter.
Common Patient Feedback
While some users have expressed satisfaction with their individual,,care-providing doctors, the overwhelmingly common complaints are directed at the company's billing practices, administrative,Support, and technical shortcomings.
