I cancelled my Tongerine WiFi bundle and paid the final bill in full at the end of the billing cycle, as required. Everything seemed settled.
Two months later I received an email claiming they had “contacted me several times” about an outstanding $5. This is completely false – I never received any calls, emails, SMS, or any other communication from them before this threatening message.
Instead of checking their records properly, they immediately jumped to threats of sending the $5 to a debt collector. This is outrageous and extremely poor customer service. It shows a complete lack of basic professionalism and honesty.
I will never use Tongerine again and I strongly recommend everyone stays away from them. If they treat small customers like this over a tiny disputed amount after proper cancellation, imagine what they do with bigger issues.
