Terrible product. I am an inner city cyclist, and in a lifetime of cycling I had more flat tyres with Tannus Armour inserts than any other (vanilla) set up because they fail. They seem to be very badly made.

I bought a set of TANNUS, 2 months old, rear wheel 2 holes, front wheel 1 hole!!

29 x 3.0 Tannus Armor Inserts. These things are very expensive for a bit of foam plastic. Performed very well initially but be prepared to spend substantially on a new set after only about 1000 miles, when out of 2 year warranty period. I got a puncture but when I removed the Insert it was just thin hard plastic, no sponginess left at all. This caused a very small piece of flint about 4mm long to go through the tyre and the insert and the inner tube. I tried warming the insert in an attempt to revive it but it shrank to about 20" diameter and went even harder.

The product does not fit.
You have to pay to return it to the seller and then no refund is made if you took it out of its packaging.
The problem is : you are forced to unpack it if you want to know if it works.
Feels like a joke.

in addition, my package for the return was lost. They told me I should have paid for tracked delivery, which would have raised the return cost to something like 25 euros in my case, all this for a product costing 40.

the moral of this story :
If your armor doesn't fit (which seems to happen very often), they don't refund. They have your money, you have nothing and you can go fck yourself.

Using Tannus inserts these inside heavy duty Cargo tyres on my electric bike and just has a piece of glass go right through the tyre and the Tannus insert and puncture the inner tube. The inserts are good but not bullet proof. They are also not suitable for trying to replace the inner tube at the road side and they do not work for run flat with a heavy electric bike. These liners probably do reduce the number of punctures you get over several thousand miles BUT are a big hassle if you do get one miles from home.

I've bought 2 Tannus Armour Inserts for my e-bike A20XE, 25 mm inner rim width, 20 x 1.95/2.0 inches tyres, 47-50/406.

a) I've got an Armour matching tyre: 20 x 1.75-1.95; 47/50 - 406; according to tannus.co.uk website - may be suitable for my 20 inche tyres, but it's not right because this Armour is about 8cm too short in circumference - it may be suitable for 18/19 inches tyres, not for my 20 inches - I cut and extended it with additional stuff and I used it. I have got pictures, but I'm not sure if I can attach them to this review.

b) I've got the second Armour matching tyre: 20 x 1.95-2.50; 50/63 - 406; according to tannus.co.uk website, may be suitable for my 20 inche tyres, but it's not right because even if this Armour is the correct circumference for 20 inches tyres, it's almost impossible to mount it on my wheel because they are wider than my tyres even if I cut the edges. Maybe they are suitable only for 2.5 inches, not for 2.0 inche tyres.

tannus.co.uk sales sent an item but delivered it to the wrong address, while in the invoice the address was correct. No apologies or regret at all from the sales & communication team by phone or e-mails. found this thread about all negative experiences with them a bit late

Awful product. As with the other comments. Impossible to fit and then you cannot get your money back. My husband is a dab hand at changing tyres and he spent a long time trying to install this but to no avail. The instructions that come with the product state "It may be necessary to cut and fit the wing of the Armour according to the size of the tyre" Of course once you have done this you cannot get a refund. Don't waste your money or your time.

Bought tannus armour insert for 50-622 tyre - never again! Maybe for 55-622+ it would be OK but 50-622 is too much. You are instructed to trim the insert so by the time I found in my view that it's just too big a volume I could not return it. Used to maintain fleet of 100+ bike so used to changing tyre. Delivery service was fine.

How awfull this company is.

Sent back tires that never fitted (pros tried to fit them) about 3 weeks ago in the proper packaging. And, no news after 3 weeks. After i mailed suddenly someone just woke up to say "ok, your tires are good we can refund today..." That, was 4 days ago. These guys got either my money and the tires which honestly feels a bit like robbery...
Very much hoping for that money (about 100€) to arrive on my bank account ASAP !
UPDATE 14/10/22 : They said they had a problem sending the money back. Anyway, it's done , refund done on my bank account.
It took nearly a month... Still bad.

Really unimpressed with the delivery time so far - I placed my order on the 14th of June. With no communication about possible delays - when placing my order this is, they gave rough estimated time of delivery - after dispatch and now nothing for two days. We're now on the 23rd of June. I've now logged it with my bank to sort out as I'm very doubtful it's been dispatched - meaning the corrier in this instance, will even arrive! I will update this review of the actual tyres when I order them elsewhere - an absolute shambles of a delivery time.

Edit; I have infact contacted Tannus via email as the reply suggests. It was only then I received the information that there were possible delays, other companies who I've shopped with have already sent out updates via email to inform customers that there are issues. On the email it did clearly say I want a refund if there's no updates a day after my correspondence - hence why I got the bank involved. If this damned tyre should ever arrive, I'll update the review and cancel the banks intervention - I do appreciate that this may not be in Tannus' full control. But me having to be constantly chasing up isn't ideal.

Update: I placed another order but with a different company. Dispatched within two days and currently on route as I type this. Also, no third party incorrect tracking. It was also £10 cheaper than the official Tannus website. I have also received my money back with thanks to the bank.

Update on the actual product: surprisingly, after 10 whole days the one direct from Tannus arrived, after three - the one from the other company arrived. But anyway, the product itself is actually fantastic! It clipped on the bike with no hick-ups. Admittedly, it did take a lot of might to loop the tyre over the rim and the clips were absolutely made by the devil but I did get them on. The tyre does feel very sturdy and robust and most definitely feels like it could easily survive the long cycles I undergo. For the bike I use, and the routes I take - this is absolutely essential. The actual product is superb! It's just such a shame about the delivery time and all the faff. I will be sending the Tannus tyre back after the weekend. Such a shame about the delivery time though, 10 days really isn't great.

No service. No confirmation. And worst of all: The tires are absolute garbage, straight from china

I would not recommend Tannus or their products!
Purchased an Airless Tyre 26 x 1.75 directly from Tannus.

3 people together could not stretch and compress it using their instructions/video demos.

I contacted Tannus for help and they responded and asked me to make sure the measurements were correct. I rechecked the wheel measurements and everything was correct.

Tannus’ terms of return stated that the “item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.” They do not accept if the “item is not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error. Item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery”

There were multiple attempts to fit the tyre, by multiple individuals so it’s not going to be in an unused or in the same condition as when it was first received.

A return was never possible, so before chucking it the bin I decided to experiment with it.

I first trimmed the inner rim of the tyre just to see if it would help as it fits inside the wheel rim and should provide more reach when stretching and it did not.

Eventually I cut the tyre open and cable tied the tyre around the wheel rim to see how short the tyre was and what length, it would have had to stretch. Just to see if it was possible or whether I had been sold a defective product.

It was approximately 3½” short so physically impossible and that’s after the inner pin insertion area was removed, so it would be flush against the wheel rim. So the outer circumference of the tyre was even shorter by 4”.

Now I had sufficient cause to complain because the product was defective to begin with as the size imprinted on the tyre was incorrect.

I documented with detailed photos, contacted them with my findings in a complaint including a video showing all the details.

I was informed that someone from their technical team was going to investigate.

I further chased and technical didn’t provide any explanation/details of an investigation. Only informing me they had sold thousands of the tyres with no issues and that the tyre has a flexibility to stretch.

They stated that they could not say whether the product was of unsatisfactory quality and unfit for purpose from the info provided at the time of delivery and most companies have a 14 day return period to reject/return the tyre as long as it’s in the condition it was delivered.

Because of my experimenting I would not be in this position to return anyway. Reiterating that if there’s a manufacturer fault present at the time of delivery I should have raised it within 14 days. “As the product has been tampered with we would not be able to confirm that the faults were present at the point of delivery”.

I reasoned the fact that once you try to install it, the tyre would get scuffed/dented. It would never be possible to return the item for a refund under their terms of “your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.” Besides their return terms are 30 days not 14 days.

Their sheer unwillingness to investigate their product or even entertain the notion there’s a problem along with their lack of seeking customer satisfaction is shocking.

I believe I was sent a tyre that was for a wheel size of 24” but was imprinted for 26” in error.

Tannus just needed to compare my tyre with their 24” tyres and see if they are the same, size marking happens after manufacture which was abroad (Korea) who’s to say there was no accidental error during imprinting.

Tannus’ customer service, escalated my issue to their technical department and technical have just dismissed the complaint, citing the returns terms rather than investigate.

Who knows how many customers just gave up and have not contacted them because of their return terms, as they feel it’s just not worth the hassle!

An awful product backed up by shockingly poor service.

If you don’t want punctures in the future and you are not worried about extra drag and compromised handling then these tyres may be for you. However in my experience they do not stack up with the best a pneumatic tyre can offer. In particular the handling on my beautifully balanced touring bike has been compromised. The rear tyre squirms under cornering making quite a bit of noise in the process. Most disconcerting is that when this happens the bikes handling is all over the place. It’s like riding a bike with a flat rear tyre when the tyre is still firm. Another issue is that having done twelve miles tonight the rear tyre is noticeably warm to the touch, something which never happened with the pneumatic tyres. This has to be because of increased rolling resistance which results in wasted energy heating the tyre. Fitting is hard but I achieved it quite successfully, just follow instructions to the letter. If you are not confident I would recommend getting tyres professionally fitted.

INSERTS only ::: got the inserts and have had 2 punctures in the rear wheel. BUT, the tire and the insert were 100% intact on both occasions. What I would say is, if you're happy running at a much lower PSI (on the back wheel), these would be absolutely fine. However, if you have to cycle on hard surfaces/roads, then this is not at all practical. I had such high hopes for these.

The tyre insert is excellent, no complaints. However I would not recommend ordering through Tannus itself, use amazon, Ebay or a cycle shop. I ordered two, received one and despite many emails no response, no reply to telephone, chat box doesn't work. The Company seems to be run by a private individual (look at google maps) and they owe me the cost of one insert so having to take action to recover this. It is a pity and I think the company that make the insert should change this company and appoint one who can deliver the goods. If you order from the website be warned.

Okay so I didn't buy these direct from the company, so this is a product review not a company review.

I have roughly 25 mm tires on my city bike and love them for what they are: a rough riding, but completely functional tire that will clearly never flat on you. Generally I don't have any anxiety about them slipping, although once I was riding over tram tracks and went down pretty hard. Its not clear to me that it would have been any different on normal tires.

I'll definitely try to put these on my next city bike.

Very slow to send out orders, ordered replacements plastic pins to install the tyres over a week ago and still have not received them, have also emailed their customer support and have had no response either, not recommended if this is what their customer service is like.
