Terrible shipment, poor customer service

I placed my first order on April 4th. Now it's May 3rd and there is zero update from the carrier. I contacted Tarte about this and their response is "we will start investigate this if your package hasn't made it by May 27th, and only then will we consider a refund". Part of this order was for a friend's birthday and it's a big miss. Tarte should seriously consider changing carrier and offer better solutions to customers.

Terrible shipping carrier

Customer service for tarte seems OK, they are very prompt at replying to queries, but the company is let down by eshop world as their shipping carrier. My order was shipped on the 5th April and now on the 27th April its declared lost and the worst is I still have to wait another 2-3 weeks for my refund! They've already had my money for 3 weeks, so I'll be out out of pocket for 6 weeks all for nothing.

Dont get me wrong

Dont get me wrong, I love Tarte products, but their customer services has to be the worst. In fact, every single time I choose to use one of their offers, say 65% off, the payment never goes through when there are funds. But funnily enough as soon as the offer expires the payment goes through so I always end up paying full price. When I write to customer services it takes so long for anyone to get back to me that the offer has expired, and then they offer me a measely 15% off, which also doesnt work and you still end up paying full price. There is nothing wrong with the products but everything wrong with the staff. No one ever owns a problem, they just vaguely read your email and fling a discount that doesnt work at you. Now, a sceptic would say that this is fraudulent and also misrepresentation in their advertising, since it happens every single time without fail. It's only happened in the last 6 months before that no issues, so someone is trying to be clever and its going to lose Tarte a lot of business, as I am going to make sure until they address this, that every shopper is aware of this very low level of service. Never once has there been an apology, it's always not their fault but yours. Ive had my laptop checked, I've talked to the bank and it certainly isnt from my side. And the emails prove their customer service doesnt care one bit about their customer, only how it appears. Now I have had to resort to posting updates on their lack of service which Id really rather not have to do. Just because they produce the best product doesnt give them license to treat customers this way.Its about time someone in Tarte stopped this and actually helped and offered a solution.

Avoid if not ordering to the USA

They do not make their returns policy clear. You do not have any of your European consumer rights when you shop with them. It wasn’t until I accidentally double ordered products that I found out that the do not accept returns from outside the United States. This should be made clear to people ordering from non-US countries. Though it is not illegal it is deeply unfair to accept orders from outside the US but offer customers none of the rights we have as European consumers!

I brought this to there attention as soon as I noticed and the order was not stopped. I believe they made no effort to try. Once the had my money, they didn’t care!

The unwanted orders take a very long time to arrive. The whole experience is terrible and the pigment in the eye shadows are not the quality I would expect

First time customer very pleased

First time customer , ordered online and checked delivery times to UK due to all the posts on here. It did state 10-15 days on the web and it took exactly 3 wks (15 working days). Not bad at all with covid. And you don't pay anyway if your order is more than £40.00. My order was packaged beautifully and I feel I got real value for Money, around £85 worth of products for £42. Lots to try. I will definately buy again, you just need to plan for delivery. FYI the delivery box is reversible with a lovely palm print, ideal for a gift or posting on. X

Delivery dates inaccurate by weeks

I made my purchase on March 19 2021. Delivery date was set for March 29 2021. It is now March 31 and products still have not been received. When I called I was told that due to covid my product is still in NY. Totally understandable that covid has disrupted shipments however, Tarte should have a blanket statement on their website letting customers know that products may be delayed by 2 - 3 weeks.

Be cautious

Received items but completely the wrong colour match even after following their guidance, product that arrived is about 10x lighter than picture, tried to return but they won’t accept as I’m outside of US offered me 15% off next purchase but I do not trust purchasing from them again

It is amazing how quickly you can begin to mistrust a company.

As a longstanding Tarte customer, I have placed my order with trust. However, I have used the wrong address when placing the order and as soon as I realised (2 minutes later) I have contacted Tarte Customer Service Team with the request to change the shipping address. I made it clear that this was the deal-breaker since the national lockdown. Tarte informed me that it was not a problem and they were more than happy to change it for me. Shortly after I have received the confirmation email that the shipping address has been changed.
Imagine my surprise when I had four delivery attempts and did not receive my package. It turned out that the address has not been changed, and the courier company was trying to deliver the package to my old address.
I did not give up so easily and I have contacted the courier company to change the address, but I could not because my “postcode does not fall under the same depot”.
I have decided to contact Tarte to get help with this since they obviously failed with the address change, I was completely ignored and sent to their FAQ to find an answer “however, as mentioned on our International FAQ's…”
The solution posed by Customer Service was that maybe I should just wait until they receive the package back and will be able to make a refund, so I can re-order my goods.
This is genuinely the first time I have encountered poor customer service and I am really surprised by it. At every stage it was wrong, ineffective and with no solution or recompense offered. It is amazing how quickly you can begin to mistrust a company.

Surprisingly good experience

Wanted to leave a good review in a sea of ones that worried me personally. I placed my first Tarte order on the 22nd January, and it arrived today, just after less than two weeks (UK). My expectations were low after seeing the negative reviews on trustpilot; however, I was getting constant email updates of the status of my parcel, and none of the makeup I ordered (eyeshadow palettes, blush, etc) arrived damaged in the slightest!

My order seems to be lost!

I'm from Portugal and I placed an order on December 29th.
On December 31st the order was sent and I started to check the tracking information.
Since the 4th of January they have not updated the information anymore and I don't know where my order is, which was supposed to have arrived on the 10th of January.
I contacted Tarte to ask for information to find out where it was and the only thing they were able to say was that due to the pandemic situation there may be delays. Ok, I understand that, but Covid doesn't affect the tracking systems, so they have to know where my order is.
I still don't receive or know anything about my products...

Horrible experience with gift cards

I received two egift cards for Tarte this Christmas. I had $150 and $25 gift card for this company and was planning purchasing one of their most expensive items, the park ave princess vault which was worth $160. When I was trying to place the order it kept saying the second gift card was invalid. I ended up calling customer service and they stated they had a gift card policy of only using one gift card per order. The item I wanted was worth the value of both cards and they refused to let me use them. They said I would have to use my own money (that was worth the second gift card) and only use one. This expensive item already did not allow promotions or coupons and I was being forced to use my own money even though I had gift cards that were the exact amount I needed to buy this item.

I was forced to find an item I did not want to use the second gift card and had to pay shipping just so I did not waste that gift and also had to pay for part of the first item.

Further looking into the gift card policy, I could not find anywhere where it said I could only use one. I am not using their products and am encouraging friends and family to never purchase gift cards from them. It was such a ridiculous policy and I cannot believe they would not help me to out and accept their own gift cards.

NO ISSUES WITH UK DELIVERY

I’m in the UK and ordered a corrector. I then read the reviews on this forum and was concerned as whether or not I would ever see it. However it arrived 10 days later which I thought was very reasonable given that it has to clear customs etc and in the current climate. The communication and updates were spot on. No issues for me on this purchase and would definitely shop with Tarte again.

3 rating is because of ‘other’ .. explanation - the product itself is good - it’s the company that’s the problem. First you go into their website once and they bombard you with incessant spam telling you about all the discount codes you can have and asking you if your purchasing, every time you in website a message comes - ‘I can see your looking ‘... like it’s freaky . Then when I actually try to use a discount code it’s impossible. They bump you out of website, say your emails no matter what you use is not eligible, They will say ‘ooh sorry your friend needs to purchase first ‘ etc any excuse . So you spend a fortune cause you need to get the stuff for your bestie and they say we’re sending you freebe’s - the free stuff arrives with product and it’s literally a photo of the product with the tiniest useless sample not anywhere as big close to being the size of half a penny. Like I spent a fortune you couldn’t actually send a little tester pot perhaps the real product like you lead me to believe? Look on other hand other companies like Boots who send full size products as their ‘free stuff’ . Infuriating and that is why I’ll never use tarte. Pity my bestie does but it won’t convince me .

Amazing Customer Service

Honestly the best customer service I have ever experienced.

I ordered a package a while ago and there was unfortunately an issue that was totally out of their hands (it was opened during the long delivery across the world to be checked). I made them aware of the problem and they made no fuss about it and completely resolved my issue as quickly as possible.

After that problem I continued to order from them after they impressed me so much with their customer service and I’m very pleased to say I’ve not had anymore issues since.

Ordered something on the Black Friday sale got a really good deal was kept updated about the shipping from U.S to U.K. all the way along arrived in perfect condition and loved the product too! Would order from here again
