Improvement needed

Went here after looking at Gary Eats review disappointed lamp chops we got were small and had little meat meat was chewy told the waiter that it should be marinated longer and he agreed to pass on the suggestion
Sheet kebab were a bit bland and not flavourful place was full so may be they don't give attention
Were first given a table near the kitchen and because of the smell not enough ventilation we move to a table near the door
On balance I have seen better places in hounslow and southall

Good food

Food has always been good when I have been there. Service is also good. Haven’t been for quite some time but I will go back. Don’t order water as its tap water and they charge £4 for it.

Tap water bottled and charged £4 . If I am paying for mineral water I don’t want reconditioned water …

Came in a group for a special occasion . No tap water , but tap water put in a bottle and £4 charge !!!
Put poppadoms on your table without asking and charge for those .You can’t order a mixed grill . You have to order separately, yet it is brought out together , and for different people . Food salty and greedy . Sorry not coming to be treated like this again . The service is terrible .

I've been going to Tayyabs for many…

I've been going to Tayyabs for many years, they were never particularly friendly but that's fine, the food was good. Try to book in advance, they make it as difficult as possible, to them, customers are cattle, push them in and out. It's become more expensive as well, they are greedy

I was recommended by friends to try out…

I was recommended by friends to try out Tayyabs restaurant in tower hamlet east London .
On Sunday 17/08/2025 I was there and as I entered the restaurant with my family I was approached by staff member, I said table for 4 please and I was directed to the worst spot in restaurant, I kindly asked for another seating area.
After 10 minutes I requested staff take my order , I ordered a mixed grilled and waiter said we don’t do this , you would have to order all separately for example chops , chicken, kebab etc all separately.
I said are serious. Then I ordered lamb biryani and he said we don’t do this on Sunday only available on Fridays , this has made very disappointed, so we ordered plain rice , nans , lamb curry and chicken curry and lamb chop , after waiting food arrived , lamb chop was pre cooked and didn’t look fresh, rice and curry was small portions, only thing look nice fresh was nans .
I was disappointed with service and quality of food and I must say overpriced compared with other Indian restaurants.
We we’re very disappointed and I wouldn’t recommend this Tayyabs restaurant to my family or friends.

Consistently good quality food

Consistently good quality food! It's changed a lot in the years that I've been going there, I don't like it when it's very busy now, it gets way too loud and significantly too smoky.. I much preferred it when it was a series of little shops, a little cafe with a garage extension on the corner, with a sweet shop next door and a takeaway next to that..

Avoid if you can...

On Saturday 3rd February I had a 7:45 PM booking for 3. I arrived at the venue to find chaos and disorder. There was a line of people throughout the venue and sprawled on the street.

When I got in, it was near impossible to get a member of staff to talk to. I spoke to someone in the queue who had already been waiting 15 mins past their booking time.

My guests arrived within minutes after me, and we watched one person managing this hectic queue for nearly 30 mins before we could get their attention. They told us to give them 5 minutes. After another 10 minutes or so (nearly 8:30 PM) we managed to get his attention again. He asked if we were all present. I told him one of my guests just went to check on their car, he yelled “You're late”, I told him “No, you’re late. Look around you”, highlighting the mass of people who were waiting to be seated. He scurried off. At this point, we decided to leave as there was no telling when we’d be seated, how long we’d have to wait to be served, with the possibility of being hurried out.

Based on how busy they were, clearly, they didn’t need our custom. The appeal of the place is lost on me. What’s more puzzling is their inability to manage a booking system. I can only assume they purposely overbook to ensure they stay busy.

Fortunately, my guests and I weren’t celebrating a special occasion, but we could have been, and they would have ruined it. Fortunately, we landed on our feet elsewhere, at a place more deserving of our money.

Based on this experience, I wouldn’t eat at Tayyabs if it were free.

First time here and very impressed

First time here and very impressed. Very tasty food, well presented and good value. Staff were friendly and helpful. Does not sell alcohol but they are happy for you to bring your own in. There is a tesco's 2 minutes walk away. Recommended.
