This is the worst place to find ESL teaching jobs if you are on a job hunt.
You will literally jump through every hoop to pass the application only to be ignored,
I actually applied for 3 teaching positions on Teacher Record. I sis and interview and demo lesson for each one. I passed each interview and got the job for each only for each of the schools to somehow vanish. I did my onboarding but I got no correspondence from any of the schools, I messaged and asked each school about bow to set my schedule... nothing, I asked tye school when i may start being assigned classes.... Nothing. DO. OT USE teacher record to find teaching jobs it's a WASTE OF YOUR TIME. you will get the teaching job and then you will not hear anything from them even if you pass the interview. If you dont believe me go and apply for an ESL position on Teacher Record right now, do your demo interview sign your contract thek watch what will happen, you will get ghosted. And if You try to co tact Teacher Record, guess what, they will ignore you as well. This is probably one of the lowest quality sites gou could possibly waste your time with, Teacher Record dont give a shit they just want any school using their website, they don't give a shit about your experience they just want to get paid by their shitty schools they work with. If you have half a brain STAY AWAY FROM TEACHER RECORD. There are much much better sites out there TEACHER RECORD YOUR COMPANY IS VILE and the schools you work with are USELESS. Your business stinks
I’m leaving this review to warn other teachers about the risks of using TeacherRecord.com to find ESL jobs.
While the platform may appear organized and legitimate on the surface, my experience has been overwhelmingly negative. I was matched with schools through this site that lied about pay, working hours, and job responsibilities. Once I signed contracts, the conditions changed dramatically — with lower pay, longer hours, and zero support when I tried to raise concerns.
What’s worse, Teacher Record seems to have no meaningful vetting process for the schools they list. There’s no accountability, and complaints appear to go ignored. After being cheated, I reached out for help and received no useful response or follow-up. It feels like the platform exists just to connect teachers with any employer — no matter how shady.
If you're considering using TeacherRecord, be extremely cautious. Triple-check contracts, research the schools independently, and be prepared for poor communication and possible bait-and-switch tactics.
There are better, more transparent platforms out there. Learn from my mistake and protect yourself.
I applied for a teaching position through Teacher Record for a company called Easy Talk. The listing clearly stated that the pay range was $7.5-$12 per hour. I also have screenshots to prove this. I attended the interview, provided all my qualifications (Master's degree in English, TEFL certificate, 2 years experience) and was told they'd make me an offer. To my shock, they offered me 2$ per hour - even though I clearly stated in the interview that I'm currently earning $7 per hour. When I questioned the discrepancy, they claimed the site listing was “wrong” and that it had “changed,” which feels deliberately deceptive.
This kind of bait-and-switch wastes applicants’ time and is deeply disrespectful, especially to qualified, serious teachers. It felt like they assumed I would accept anything just because I’m a non-native speaker, despite my clear accent and credentials.
Teacher Record should take accountability for the companies they promote and ensure listings are accurate and fair. Until they improve transparency and screening, I would strongly advise other teachers to be cautious when applying for jobs through their platform. Teacher record did respond and is investigating.
