Teacher Tee is an exceptional company that has offered steadfast support throughout my journey, transforming my life in ways I never thought possible. I wholeheartedly recommend them, as their influence is nothing short of remarkable. Luke, in particular, shines as a beacon of inspiration; his dedication and deep compassion for every individual he works with have left an indelible mark on my experience. I am profoundly grateful to him and the entire Teacher Tee team, whose encouragement and guidance have empowered me to overcome challenges and seize new opportunities, making this journey a breathtaking odyssey of growth and achievement.

I really wanted to believe in TeacherTee. Luke was incredibly responsive before I paid—replying to emails quickly, even speaking to me on the phone and answering all my questions. It felt personal, helpful, and genuine.

But once I paid for the course through their link, everything changed.

I never heard from Luke or the team again. Messages were ignored, and despite reaching out multiple times for help with the practicum and job placement (which they heavily promote), I received no support at all. What’s even more frustrating is seeing Luke active on Instagram—off on holidays—while those of us who trusted him with our time and money are left in the dark.

It’s been nearly a year now, and I feel completely abandoned. It’s clear they earn commission for directing people to TEFL courses, and once that’s done, their involvement ends. No follow-up. No guidance. Just silence.

If you’re looking for long-term support or mentorship, do not rely on TeacherTee. Go directly to a reputable TEFL provider and save yourself the disappointment.

Misleading and Defensive Response – I Have the Evidence

I’m disappointed but not surprised by TeacherTee’s defensive reply to my review. It’s clear they’re trying to protect their reputation instead of taking responsibility.

Let me be clear:
• I did send my self-introduction video. I have the email receipts to prove it.
• They did not call me four times. In fact, they changed their number—something they conveniently leave out of their response.
• I made every effort to re-establish contact, including trying to find their new number and eventually messaging their business Instagram—not Luke’s personal one.

When I messaged on Instagram, it wasn’t harassment—it was a last resort after being ignored. I even commented on posts just asking for a response. If they were aware I was asking for help (as they admit), why didn’t they simply reply to the emails I sent them? They haven’t responded to ONE.

This isn’t about me “not engaging”—this is about them failing to honour the support they promised. They were incredibly responsive before I paid, but once the commission was made, the communication stopped. Their Trustpilot reply is full of inaccuracies and conveniently omits the full picture.

The fact they’ve chosen to twist the situation instead of just taking accountability says a lot. I stand by my review—and I have the evidence to back it up.

Teacher Tee came at the time I needed it. I was in between jobs, and really needed a way to make part-time income. Teacher Tee swiftly and efficiently got me through onboarding with ESL app, Preply. I now have my first student, and have been so fulfilled from being able to make income by doing what I love most: building relationships with people. Teacher Tee will also help you with other ESL gigs, perfect for those who have busy schedules and want to stay remote or might have children. I cannot say enough good things about this company - I feel secure knowing that even when the economy might be at a downturn, I will be able to find work with ESL teaching.

I’ve seen this same scam model before. Let me share my story. I applied online and was quickly accepted.The advertisement clearly stated “No experience needed (I myself have taught for 12 years), no degree needed and no TEFL needed”.

After the next steps I was directed to their website which was plastered with choices of TEFL courses before I’d even spoken to anyone.

Then when I was interviewed I was immediately told I’d need a TEFL certificate to proceed and it’s best to do it through us because our courses are high quality but that’ll cost you between £100-200. Fair enough. But what happens after that…

Well we don’t offer you a job as advertised but will then place you with other companies.

So what if after I’ve paid for your TEFL course it’s not accepted? I’m £100 down. What if after my initial investment you can’t find me a placement? What if now I’m financially invested you ask for more money to help with that placement.

The lady I spoke with (Mia) was lovely enough but the whole model is a joke and unacceptable.

Communication has been exceptionally poor from Teacher Tee. When I email them back with questions or updates, they do not reply. They advertise high teaching rates, but are just recruiting on behalf of poorly paid and disorganised Chinese companies. I was promised a starting wage of 18 USD per hour, much lower than what I have been offered almost anywhere else. I went through days of admin and set-up with the Chinese company they referred me to, after which I was offered $14 / an hour (about £10 - not even close to minimum wage). This is for a teacher with five years of experience, a degree, and a CELTA, by the way. I expected better from a U.K.-based company. I wouldn't waste your time (you can apply to most of these Chinese companies directly, anyway). If you have questions / queries / concerns, Teacher Tee won't reply :)

My experience with Teacher Tee was great. Sean was really helpful in getting my profile on Preply up and running and guiding me throughout the whole process. I am now giving regular classes on Preply and building my teaching business. Thank you!!

TeacherTee have been great in helping me start teaching English online. They have been excellent at guiding me through the process of creating and promoting my tutor profile online. Friendly, helpful and always available to help out!

A lot of hours working for no money, even when you build up your prices. The first lesson with every student is non payed - fee will go to TT. And that student will stay at your first quoted price for the duration of their studies. So in order to teach with a fair fee, you have you put in a lot of hours for free. They also take a large cut of all earned. I have earned $15 for 40 hours of work so far

TeacherTee helped me start a new venture and I absolutely love it!! Fran and Luke were so helpful and talked me through the whole process and explained everything very clearly!! Definitely recommend

I was excited to be a part of the teacher tee experience and I do believe they gave some sound advice in the video they sent across. However I was booked in for a "call with Luke" to help me prep for my first trial lesson and he never showed up. I emailed, called and texted the various platforms and received radio silence until a few months later when I was sent an automated email asking me to sign up for a paid program he is running and inviting me to access a WhatsApp chain. I joined the WhatsApp chain hoping I could contact someone in the organization but it's an Admin only chat so I wasn't able to leave a complaint there. I believe this could be a useful organization to help English teachers online there has either been a lack of organization or concern here and it seems to be a smaller platform that is used to get teachers who are starting just starting up to pay for their continued "support" . This is a shame but something I could understand if I could at least have been responded to in the first place.

I had a great experience with TeacherTee! They guided me with initial setup to understanding Preply & their advice helped me build confidence and a strong profile. Thanks to their coaching, I’m now successfully tutoring students and growing my online presence. Highly recommend for anyone looking to start their ESL tutoring career!

Teacher Tee has been a truly life changing experience, they helped and guided me the whole way through from deciding what qualification to go for, to deciding which teaching route I’d like to go down afterwards, I’m now a successful tutor on Preply and thanks to them, doing a job that doesn’t even feel like work! Luke has given me such valuable advice and I’m now looking at further growth opportunities with them. I cannot recommend Teacher Tee enough!

Super supportive and helpful, great experience

Knowing about this company gave a good boost for me to start teaching online. Teacher tee helps you, they gave you good feedback and encouragement to improve and provide a better teaching atmosphere to the future students you may have. Once you are recruited in one of the platforms they give you feedback and shows you how to use the platform so they don’t leave you alone. They are always looking for you in case you need help or have any questions. I’m very grateful and I’m happy that our paths crossed!!!

Constant communication and help throughout the process. Mia walked me through the steps in a very succinct manner.
