I just signed an offer with a company yesterday, and my work with Team Rora helped me to negotiate in a fairly inflexible scenario. After speaking with a coach, I was able to increase my total annual comp by $15k.

That amount of money makes a huge difference for me, at this point in my career and life. It means being able to invest more into my retirement and save toward a house. So, I just wanted to take a moment and express my gratitude to Team Rora. In addition to connecting me with resources, Rora helped me to reframe my "market value" as something that changes with the market, which was essential for me in recognizing my leverage in a scenario where their candidate pipeline had been dry for several months and my particular skillset was uncommon.

Highly recommend Rora for salary negotiation guidance in the tech space. I was assigned to an advisor (Arian) who was very helpful and friendly throughout. He was able to jump in to work with me on short notice, and essentially guided me through the entire negotiation process. He had lots of pragmatic pointers on how to interact with the recruiters and what to say (and what not to), and helped out in drafting several emails. The data that Rora provides (less noisy than on say levels.fyi) is also very useful for contextualizing your numbers.

I found the service useful. Arian has been very patient and quick to respond for queries that I had. He also helped me to negotiate confidently. He had carefully chose the language in the emails in the negotiation process and slowed down the process, thereby making myself not look very desperate to get the offer. I would definitely recommend the service especially if you are first time searching for the job and with the big tech companies.

Before I hired Rora, I always had a strong feeling that candidates should be given at least a few opportunities (if not just as many as the interviewers) to understand the role/team/company culture fit. However, I didn't know how to go about grabbing such moments during the interview process; the few minutes towards the end of each interview are typically not sufficient to get a good picture of the team or role. Previously, I was completely oblivious to the concept of leverage and BATNA in the important role they play in the negotiation process. With Rora's extensive documented guidance and market data, coupled with Arian's advising on negotiation and how to focus on building a strong alliance with the hiring manager, skip-level manager and other team members, I found a solid framework to follow during the negotiation process, essentially giving a good structure to those initial thoughts. I had never before used a service like this. I don't enjoy negotiating and am not particularly good at it. But, future raises are based upon your current compensation. Thus, it is important to negotiate when you have the chance.

I started my experience with Rora (then Moonchaser) after I received an initial offer from a company (that I had just finished interviewing with). I submitted an online form to Rora and provided details about the company, position, and offer I received. I then had a phone consultation with a negotiation coach during which I provided similar information. The coach asked some additional questions which I answered. I decided to proceed with the process and the coach provided a script we reviewed together (via phone calls). We also did a "mock" or practice negotiation where the coach acted as the company recruiter. I found this to be particularly helpful. When I called the company recruiter back, my negotiation coach listened in and even provided me feedback (via chat) that I could use to tweak my messaging on the spot (as difficult as this can be).

My negotiation coach was with me every step of the way. At the end of the process, I accepted an offer that over the course of my first four years at the company will be worth ~$50,000 more than my original offer.

Jordan was really helpful. She walked me through her HR tool (Pave) that many other companies use to benchmark comp. By seeing what my recruiter likely saw on her end, I could create a target ask that would be better than their offer without sounding out of market. Jordan also shared her advice based on coaching others on offer negotiations in terms of what she's seen be successful or not (e.g. how to go about asking for a higher title). Would recommend!
