I am extremely disappointed with my…

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Techville and would not recommend this company.

I contacted Techville to address an issue with my range hood, which was shutting down intermittently. After multiple rescheduling attempts, a technician finally came to inspect it. During the visit, the range hood happened to start working within about 15 minutes of his arrival. I was charged $177 for the service, and the technician clearly stated that the repair came with a 3-month warranty, assuring me that if anything went wrong during that period, it would be fixed at no additional cost.

Unfortunately, the range hood stopped working within a day of the visit. After it remained non-functional for two days, I contacted the technician again, as he had instructed. Communication was slow and unreliable—he said he would try to come one day, then cancelled late in the day, and postponed again.

Shortly after, I received a call from Techville’s head office stating that the motor needed to be replaced at a cost of $1,250. This was shocking, especially given the recent service and the promised warranty. I questioned how the hood could have been working if the motor was supposedly dead and asked why the warranty was not being honored. I also requested a refund if they were unwilling to stand behind their work. I was told someone would call me back after consulting a manager.

It has now been over a week, and I have received no follow-up whatsoever.

What makes this experience even more troubling is that during the initial visit, the technician asked me to leave a 5-star review immediately. Based on my experience, this raises serious concerns about the credibility of the company’s online ratings, which is the very reason I chose Techville in the first place.

Techville advertises a 3-month warranty and reliable service on their website, but in my case, those promises were not upheld. I have also informed them that I would be contacting the Better Business Bureau, yet I still have not received any response.

Overall, this was a frustrating and disappointing experience marked by poor communication, lack of accountability, and failure to honor stated warranties.
