ITTO (International Teacher Training Organization)-based in Mexico.Researching the TESOL/TEFL courses, I saw that their Website claims they are a member of IATEFL. I checked with IATEFL and they confirmed ITTO is not currently a member. I had emailed ITTO to ask about the course, they had replied. However when I asked them about the IATEFL membership, they stopped communicating. Telephone support may be based in India. Gave somewhat vague answers to my questions.

The materials, including videos and written modules, were old. Many of the reference materials and links to resources either did not work or were obsolete - companies were no longer in business or the website was different. I'd recommend this is you are in a hurry to get a cert to teach but if you are really looking for something to augment your career as a teacher, look somewhere else.

TEFL was great, I was able to go at my own speed which was very fast. The tutor graded my modules over night which worked out perfectly so I could wake up and start on the next module. Her feedback was very helpful and it helped my scores in the future.

I had a good experience and my personal tutor was definitely the highlight of my experience.

Overall the program was easy to complete. Although it has taken me forever and I'm sure the company has enjoyed those $175 extensions I've been paying:D

Taking the TEFLOnline tests was actually a fine experience. I was able to work at my own pace, read what I needed, and do whatever what was necessary according to my own schedule. The packet I bought allowed me 3 months to finish, but this was more than enough time. The readings were also informative and straight to the point, and the quizzes try to help the learner rather than trick them. Some of the essay questions were a bit redundant, though. However, a few of the essay questions prompted me to make my own lesson plan, and this really aided me in my training to becoming an ESL instructor (I have kept the lesson plans I made for this test--very helpful!). Generally, I had a positive experience with TEFLOnline, and have in fact recommended it to a few of my friends to check out. The readings are fast, simple, and clear, the quizzes do not attempt to trick you, and the essays help you think critically about the material. If anything, it was a fun-come-home-from-work-to-do-activity for me since I knew that passing the test would also benefit me far into the future. Recommended!!

I really enjoyed this course. It gave me a clear idea of teaching English. I do not have any education in teaching and being a nanny this helped me add something extra to my resume. I love the personal tutor and the feed back! You do not feel alone and lost through out the course.

This online course is not easy. It takes a real commitment of time and effort. The essays can seem to be too much but my tutor was great. I am very excited to have been accepted as an English teacher in northern India.

I think this job website should be available to students who successfully completed their course and acquired their certificates.

This was promised to me before I paid for my course, this is one of the reasons why I chose this school. I was promised that the school would help me with my job search, But this promise never materialized, because I cannot access my student information any longer from the school website.

I was able to view that web site but was too busy with my course and thought I could access it after I completed my course, but was very mistaken, when I completed this course I could not go back and access any information at all, not even how well or how rotten I did in my lessons.

I think the school should keep their promises to their students.

I loved the course and the teachers or instructors, I loved all the people that were involved with my course, but would like to see this job website and have access to it all the time I want to as I was promised.

I enjoyed the organization of the course. This was very helpful to the memory.

Three years ago I enrolled in a "brick-and-mortar" TEFL course, which consisted of three distinct class, and cost 4-5 times as much as this course. I did not complete it as I had already secured a maths/EAP teaching position midway through the second course, and honestly needed the money more than I needed any additional knowledge at that point.

Moving forward to this year, the 120 hour TEFL certificate is now required in order to work in China. So I chose to enrol in this course because I could do it at home at my own pace.

I'm absolutely glad that I chose to do so. Any self-respecting autodidact knows that the classroom setting is not conducive to their learning. Conducting a self-directed study allows the autodidact to teach themselves without being hindered by the manifold musings of other classmates. More material can be digested in the same amount of time. Period.

What's more, the material presented in this course is highly useful, succinct, and interesting, and the assignments are extremely useful and thought-provoking.

Obviously, if you need the classroom experience, then you can do the 140 hour course.

My experience with TEFLOnline.com has given me the opportunity to study the ESL teaching curriculum at my own pace and within the comfort of my own home. This well planned out course allows the student to focus on topics and spend time on various subjects that may be more difficult than others. Also, the program causes the student to look at the language learning experience from the ESL Students perspective and points out some of the difficulties that students of various languages may encounter when learning English.

I believe that this course has given me a foundation by which I could easily teach an ESL class from a popular ESL Text Book and Workbook. I have learned much about creating fun and diverse exercises to enhance any such program and a well defined structure in which to present lessons to ESL Students.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who has the ability to work on their own and is motivated to absorb the information from each module that will provide them with well rounded skills to be a great ESL Teacher!!!!!!
