While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Great hardware that's free-software compatible!

I created my Technoethical (Tehnoetic) account in 2018 and bought some FLOSS (Free/Libre and Open Source Software) compatible WiFi USB dongles. They worked great on my Debian GNU/Linux install (without me having to get closed-source drivers to get them to work). The prices are a bit high but I think they are worth it. I will probably buy again from tehnoetic.com.

Ordered a phone from them back in…

Ordered a phone from them back in August 2019, It's now the 15th of January 2020. I have sent numerous emails to them asking for an update on the phone and all I was sent back were excuses. Then back in November I received an email saying they've shipped it. They gave me a tracking number which I looked up and it wasn't a real tracking number. I contacted the shipping service and they said they had received no such tracking number either and that there was no package being delivered. I was scammed by this company. I have asked for a refund many times and I hear nothing back from them. Complete silence.

The reviews on their website are from 2017. Maybe back then they were actually sending people their products, but not anymore. Now it seems that they're taking peoples money and then stringing people for as long as possible.

Please DO NOT order from this website. They will take your money and run. It baffles me that they are still recommended by various websites promoting free software. It seems like these people do not check up on the legitimacy of the businesses they promote.
