Very frustrating experience

Very frustrating experience. Telekom support does respond, but the issue remains completely unresolved.
I have been told that Samsung or Mobilezone must take action, while Samsung keeps telling me to contact Telekom. As a result, I am stuck between all parties with no progress at all.
Even though there are replies, there is no real effort to solve the problem, and the customer is left dealing with the situation alone.

Paying for a "Premium" Connection to 20% of the Internet? No thanks.

If you are considering Deutsche Telekom for your home or business, be warned: you are not paying for "the best network," you are paying for a hostage situation. For years, Deutsche Telekom (DTAG/AS3320) has been engaged in a toxic peering policy that effectively breaks the internet for its customers. Their refusal to engage in settlement-free peering with major backbone providers and CDNs like Cloudflare is a blatant attempt at double-dipping.

As a customer, you pay a premium for a high-speed fiber or DSL line, while service providers like Discord, Cloudflare are expected to pay Telekom again just to deliver the data you already paid to receive. Because Cloudflare refuses to give in to this "peering toll," Telekom routes traffic through congested, low-priority transit points. The result is high latency, massive packet loss, and websites that simply do not load—even on a Gigabit connection.

We reached our breaking point after realizing that even our Business Line suffered from these same artificial bottlenecks. When critical cloud services, CDNs, and security infrastructures are throttled during peak hours, it is not just a technical hiccup—it is a threat to business continuity. Telekom is abusing its market-dominant position to create a two-tier internet, violating the spirit of Net Neutrality. They are treating the open web like a 1990s cable TV package, where you only get fast access to those who pay Telekom’s extortionate fees.

We have officially migrated both our Private and Business lines to competitors with open peering policies. If you value a fast, open, and reliable internet connection, stay as far away from Deutsche Telekom as possible. They are not building the digital future; they are charging you for a VIP seat in a parking lot.

Rude and pathetic customer service

I would give 0 start to this company. Very rude customer service. It is better to go with 02 at least they are available to answer all our queries and questions. Deutsch Telekom might have good internet service but their customer service is pathetic. No sense of attending call with customers.

Worst isp worldwide

I’ve lived in many parts of the world, signed contract with different isps .. I just want to say Telekom Germany DSL has been the worst so far it terms of stable connectivity .. isp’s in Africa even has better internet connectivity than Telekom. If you’re a streamer or gamer ..plz do your best to avoid this company .. it’s been the worst regret of my life knowing I have to be on this contract for two years before I can cancel . An absolute disgrace .

Telekom is very good for me

Telekom internet is always fast, works great with 4G and 4.5G phones.
They have this great feature to fill up certain amount when the account is empty. No direct debit bs!
I've read a whole slew of negative feedback here and I can tell you that my experience was great! Only Telekom and Vodafone - those who don't scam you with the "direct debit" bs!

Do not lose your “welcome” letter

I cannot access my personal account at all. My email address is marked as invalid, even though all my Telekom bills are sent to that exact email. I then try to log in using my phone number and it is also rejected, despite the fact that I receive SMS notifications on it regularly.

When I enter my customer number, the system asks for a so called secret word that I forgot almost immediately after registration, like any normal person would. I try automatic login since I am connected to my home network and it fails with an error again.

This is a complete nightmare in terms of customer experience. I am fully convinced that no senior Telekom employee has ever tried to log into their own customer portal.

On top of that, Telekom used to call me every working day during business hours, telling me that my contract was about to expire. I eventually signed a new contract, only to discover that the old one was automatically renewed anyway. As a result, I ended up paying for both the old and the new contract for three months.

So the question is simple. Why are customers being called and pressured about an expiring contract if it is extended automatically anyway?

Disorganized, user hostile and extremely frustrating service.

Update:

I figured out how to set up different login methods, but it took some effort.

So I ordered a sim card finally after 3…

So I ordered a sim card finally after 3 months fighting with Lyca to release my number to Telekom. The finally relased it. I had already planned my move to another city 3 months ago. Telekom sent the sim card late, Dhl also didn't deliver on expected time. I told them I have moved send to my new address they asked me proof it took me 2 weeks to get appointment for city registration when I finally did it they said now they cannot change my address and they cannot send me sim card. The customer care or the Telekom shop asked for contract which I have never received. I am not sure finally porting my no to Telekom should I take risk and move to another provider.

The worst company in whole Germany

The worst company in whole Germany. I cant even describe the experience that I had with them. The customers service , the technician that cant do anything and is a technician, the attitude, the forgeneners who speaks worst german than me and they work there, and on and on. Seriously, 3 months without internet, more than 40 calls , they save the coversation as a evidence and didn't use it and charging me for technician for 50 euro per coming and still the problem wasnt fix. The technician cant fix two cables which is RIDICULOUS! And after all with my final closing of all the contracts by the phone and everything as they say is FINISHED AND IM OUT, THEY CHARGED ME 150 EURO ! Unfortunately even if you dont review the link they send you after a day you CANT OPEN IT ! IF I COULD I WOULD GIVE YOU
- 1000 STARS !!! PEOPE, USE ALDITALK FOR 19 EURO AND 100MB INTERNET WITH A VOUCHER FOR 4 WEEKS OR THE ANOTHER OPITION WITH ROUTER AND PERFECT INTERNET AND RELATIONSHIP. Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service, poor service provider overall ,dishonest company and slow internet.Too expensive for what they provide , and bugs you all the time to upgrade to more expensive contract , one has to wonder if they temper with your connection so they advise you on a better contract .people stay away

Terrible experience – dishonest billing practices

I paid for one month of Magenta Sport. The following month, Telekom DE charged me again, even though I clearly thought it was a one-time payment since there was no contract involved. As soon as I saw the second charge, I immediately canceled my account.

Now, a full month after canceling, they’ve taken another 6 euros from my account. Unbelievable.

This company has absolutely no transparency and clearly takes advantage of customers who trust them. Thieves par excellence. Avoid them at all costs.

Be careful with SEPA and quitting your contract!

We used Telekom for our mobile phones, being stationed in Germany with the Military. When we quit in person, because they are HARD TO REACH, the worker in the shop said we are good to go. Meanwhile the plus card (second line) was not quit and we are hit with a bill for a 160EUR monthly contract, we can't quit now, because the contract owners line is not active anymore. How in the world is it legal to change a 50 EUR contract to 160 EUR monthly when you quit one line without permission? This is insane! We are in the US again and can't call or reach anyone. They don't ever answer personally, just tell you to contact the chatbot. Very untrustworthy, do not use Telekom!

Terrible service from the very start

Terrible service from the very start. They’re always trying to overcharge you, and in the end, you never get your money back. So much of my energy wasted on the constant “mistakes” they make just to take more from your pocket... Chiaooo, never coming back!

They cannot be bothered

I have been trying for 2 months to get fiber optics in my apartment. There is no outlet for it. They came 29 September 2025 to install the outlet. They needed to access the floor below, but that required the property management. We agreed on an appointment at 8am today, 21 October 2025. Sadly, no technician ever showed up at all today. The property management was here at 8 am. If he comes back, I have to pay him out of my pocket.

As it stands, I still have no service after 2 months. I have no future prospect of service, because the property management needs a set appointment. They are not an on-call service. Given the unreliability of Telekom, this will never happen. Therefore, I want my contract cancelled, because you failed to provide me with the promised services.
