I’ve tried a lot of language apps and courses, but Thai Language Challenge stands out by a mile. The daily lessons are short, practical, and build on each other in a way that actually sticks. I went f... See more

Even from Los Angeles, I felt like I was being included in the course.
I was in the initial cohort for the first 20 classes. I could only take the first 20 as I was selling everything to get myself over to the Kingdom! Even though we were the first cohort, Kru Fah and the team behind the camera did an excellent job!
As for the content being taught and method, everyone learns differently, but this definitely worked for me. Kru Fah has a fantastic delivery and sense of humor! Made the class super enjoyable.Even from Los Angeles, I felt like I was being included in the course. The first 20 classes were structured around useful conversation that you would have in a normal type of day. Numbers, directions, fruits, food and learning to order them, etc.Obviously its the Tones that make Thai hard for us Westerners! But I expect I will pick more of that up now.Once settled, I may try to finish the other 80 classes. But so glad I got started!
I'm only a few days into the course but…
I'm only a few days into the course but I can tell this one is built differently. I love the energy of the teacher and the way it forces you to listen to Thai instead of english really immerses you. I've started practicing with locals and they are super excited to see a foreigner putting in the work.
Challenge accepted
I am currently just under half way through the challenge. It is a little bit difficult the first few lessons, but by lesson 10 I found that I was understanding much more and the lessons became easier.
I especially enjoy the sections of lessons that are grouped around a common theme like ordering food and time & date
The classes are generally entertaining which makes the learning process more enjoyable. Not everything sticks with me, but there are some supplemental information available that you can spend more time with to help improve the process.
Overall I would highly recommend. I can already see a big difference in how much I can understand and speak.
When you’re ready to get serious about learning Thai check out the “Thai Language Challenge” online course.
One of the standout aspects of this course was the instructor, Kru Fah. She reminded me of some of those great teachers I had back in school. She is not only knowledgable and engaging but also funny, making the learning process a wonderful experience.
The virtual classroom setup was another highlight. There was space left between the desks where the in-class students sat, with a camera set up creating the perspective of a virtual student. It gave the impression of interacting with Kru Fah as if I were seated in the classroom. Very unique, creative and just plain cool. The thought and effort that went into planning both the course curriculum and the virtual classroom setup were evident, and it significantly enhanced my learning experience.
I also liked that I could learn at my own pace, thanks to the structured 100-day course format. Daily lessons sent via email were convenient and allowed me to stay on track. The lessons are mine forever, so if I ever need a refresh, I’ll always have it.
Like most farang, I tried various methods to learn Thai, both online and in person, but never got past learning a few words and phrases. With the “Thai Language Challenge” I finally got results!
Thank you! I can finally speak Thai :-)
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Been searching for an online Thai language school that goes above and beyond the endless self-paced apps. The Thai Language Challenge works! I just finished survival Thai - the first 20 classes. I’m feeling super confident with my ability to get around Bangkok on my own. Thank you Kruu Fah! You are the best Thai teacher.
Very fun and engaging format
Very fun and engaging format to learn a new language! I have learned both German and Italian through language schools previously, so I have some experience with learning new languages. The TLC virtual classroom format has been the best format I have come across so far.
Having the lesson material sent out every day instead of having it all dumped on you at once really helped me stay on track and committed to learning Thai. I also really liked having other students in the virtual classroom with me because it really helped me improve my pronunciation (which is essential since Thai is a tonal language). The videos are very high quality and the teacher support through WhatsApp is super quick and responsive.
Would definitely recommend this course/challenge to anyone who is serious about learning Thai!
Finally, a system that works for me
It's kind of embarrassing, but after living in Bangkok for 10 years, my Thai language skills were still at the tourist-who-knows-a-dozen-or-so-words level.
I'd tried multiple different systems and language schools in the past, both online and in-person to help improve my Thai language skills, and nothing stuck.
Self-learning with books never lasted long - too dry, too rote, too boring. In-person and on-line classes usually meant I was 1-amongst-15 and either got lost among the noise, or demotivated at the lack of individual attention.
Thai Language Challenge (TLC) is different - The classes are prerecorded and presented as if the viewer is part of a small in-person class. Questions are asked to this virtual student during the videos to keep you on your toes, and homework is assigned that is then checked by a support teacher, who is there to assist you in your learning journey.
Kru Fah, the primary teacher is articulate, uproariously hilarious and makes learning and enjoyable and fun experience.
Kru Nooey, the support teacher, is patient, kind, and incredibly helpful at both spotting and correcting any misunderstandings or errors that have occurred when homework is submitted.
Aside from the prerecorded classes and access to the support teacher, you are also armed with multiple workbooks (a new one each 10 lessons) to study from, as well as access to a private Quizlet (flash card and online learning system) group.
Tip: Use Quizlet, a lot. It'll massively improve your vocabulary, and fast!.
I've been on the 100 day challenge (which can take you as long as you like, it's not time-limited in any way) for almost 2 months now, and I couldn't be happier. Thank you to the TLC team for finally giving me the tools and motivation to get my Thai to the next level and making my Thailand experience much richer as a result.
Master Thai at Your Own Pace with Engaging, Interactive Lessons!
As someone always on the lookout for innovative language learning tools, the 'Thai Language Challenge' has thoroughly impressed me! This course offers an incredibly unique approach with its series of 100 videos, each about an hour long, that really make you feel like you're part of the classroom. One of the cameras is cleverly positioned from the student's viewpoint, making it feel like Fah, the fantastic instructor, is directly interacting with you. This personal touch significantly enhances the learning experience.
The flexibility of the course structure is a huge plus. You can progress at your own pace, revisit previous lessons whenever needed, and solidify your learning with downloadable PDFs every 10 lessons that include vocabulary, class exercises, and homework. Speaking of homework, it involves recording voice messages and sending them to Fah via WhatsApp. Her feedback is swift, clear, and always encouraging, making it easy to stay motivated and on track.
Beyond the videos and PDFs, the inclusion of Quizlet for learning vocabulary is a game-changer. It's one thing to watch and learn, but being able to interact with cue cards and take quizzes really helps cement the knowledge. The typing tests challenge you to apply what you've learned, and the match game is not only fun but also a great way to see how you stack up against fellow students.
Overall, the 'Thai Language Challenge' is more than just a course—it's a comprehensive learning experience that's engaging, flexible, and incredibly well-supported by Fah and the technology used. Whether you're a beginner or looking to polish your Thai, this course has something to offer. Highly recommended for anyone serious about learning Thai in an enjoyable and effective way!
The best Thai Course I've Found
I've tried learning Thai several ways before and this Course was the best because of the format. The online Lessons are filmed in a real classroom and I was able to learn at the same speed as the other students.
I also liked that I all the classes are on-demand so i can study each lesson at a time that works for me.
I'd recommend this course to anyone who is serious about learning Thai.
