Disappointed with their service & membership policies
Disappointed with their service. I purchased a membership last year and witnin a few weeks of attending, they shut down the entire IMAX theater for the duration of the year. They also never opened the cafe, both of these are at the Dinosaur museum. As a grandmother, I would take my granddaughter from
Salt Lake City and that 3D movie was always a chance for us to rest a bit and enjoy a break so that we could 'play' longer! I felt jipped. They also charged members for the merry-go-round which was ridiculous, and they took a lot of flak for that. About 3/4 of the way through my first year, they finally offered that ride free of charge for members. I recently called to renew my membership and asked for a discount, given the above issues my first year. It took several weeks to get through to the membership department, and I finally reached the manager of another department who rudely informed me that she would refund my renewal from May (I forgot that I'd purchased a renewal during a promotion), and then informed me that they would not be offering any compensation for the closed cafe, movie theater, or money spent on the merry-go round. It's like having an annual pass at Disneyland and having access to Space Mtn and the Pirates ride complete shut down the entire time. Will not recommend this place to anyone, and if you do get a membership with Thanksgiving Point, just be aware that your business is not valued by them, and you will be treated with contempt and disrespect if you ever ask to be treated fairly.
