I was unsure what to expect when I went for my first appointment but Matt made me feel comfortable. Matt explained everything to me regarding my hearing test, he then explained the different types of hearing aids. I was then left to discuss with my husband and given time to make a decision, there was no sales pressure at all. I needed to have a cross section aid as I have no hearing in my right ear. After my hearing aids were fitted, Matt went through the process of what to do each morning and each night. I have been back to have my aid adjusted and now feel they are working for me as they should. Nothing seemed too much trouble for Matt and I feel comfortable knowing that he will be there if I have any problems in the future. I cannot thank him enough as the difference hearing properly again has made to my life.

After attending the surgery to enquire about a future appointment they were able to immediately fit me in and the frustrating hearing problem was resolved. I cannot advise you enough to see the amazing team in Uttoxeter, should you have any hearing/ ear needs. They pretty much saved my life, due to suffering intense pain in my left ear for many months and being advised to take ear drops, antibiotics (both in my ear and orally) and pain killers by various GPs. Prior to finding out about this practise and booking an appointment, I was in so much pain even with extremely strong painkillers that I was not sleeping and getting to the point that I would have literally paid/gone through anything to have the pain stopped- managing a day at work had become a nightmare too due to my pain and exhaustion. I was told nothing else could be done but to keep taking the medication and pain killers hoping that it would eventually stop. On examining my ear, Hayley, quickly discovered that an intense ear infection was blocked by a lump that had formed deep in my ear canal, and that it would need urgent attention from an ENT hospital team - if it had been found earlier then she would have been able to support me and remove this. She immediately wrote a letter to my GP explaining the urgency for treatment at the hospital, and I was booked in within the week. Specialist appointments and an operation were to follow and due to the severity an MRI scan to check the infection had not spread to the brain due to the time taken to treat this. I was so blessed that the lump was removed and all was well, although had it not been for Hayley's rapid support and intervention I may not have been so fortunate. Since, having seen Matt this month at the centre, again I could not have felt in more professional hands- whilst my ears are clear he is supportive to keep a check on the area and reassure me through his specialist knowledge. Many, many thanks probably for saving a life. Please, never hesitate to see this top team about any aspect of ear care - it really does make a difference.

I saw Matt Baker because of growing sensitivity and pain to certain sound frequencies. He examined my ears, carried out a very thorough hearing test and showed me the results, which he then discussed with me. I now understand a lot more about my level of hearing, and certain steps I can take to help myself. I don’t hesitate in recommending Matt to anyone with concerns about their hearing.

Following a bad case of tinnitus and a blocked ear I booked an appointment with Hayley Billington at McCraken Opticians in Uttoxeter.
Hayley was the ultimate professional and explained in detail what was going to happen. Upon discovery that my ear was no longer blocked she carried out a free hearing check and explained what I could do to improve my awareness of the tinnitus and generally care for my hearing. Overall an excellent experience.

Very happy and reassured by service provided by Hayley at my tinnitus consultation. Every step of the process was explained along the way and I was given loads of advice and recommendations at the end. The addition of a general hearing test was also much appreciated.

I have been very happy with my visits to The Hearing Care partnership. I visited initially for ear wax removal, and was reassured by being able to see the inside of my ear on the screen, so that I could understand what further removal was necessary.
Following a hearing test, I was given information to take away about the hearing aids available. When I looked into it all at home I was impressed with the extra facilities compared to the NHS ones I had. Having read up about the facilities offered by modern hearing aids, I decided to go ahead and I am really pleased that I did. It was explained how they differed from my existing NHS ones, and how I could use the extra settings to improve my hearing experience. I really love the ease with which I can adjust the settings to suit different sound situations. That really is a game changer, especially as I’ve got more used to that quick button press or use of the app which makes so much difference.

I was treated with courtesy and conscientiousness. A very thorough ear test. A follow up letter from the audiologist Mr Matt Baker for my GP.

I have a problem in some situations with my hearing.
I had a test with Haleema which was exceedingly thorough and showed up where the deficiencies were. She could not have been more thorough and helpful.
When I had the follow up telephone call I told Haleema that i would wait another year (assuming the hearing did not deteriorate significantly) in the hope that i would not have to cope with a face mask as well as spectacles, and earrings.

Really helpful service. Very effective covid measures in place.
