The Alfie Group 

We are a registered charity that entrusted The Alfie Group Ltd. with a contracted job, believing we were working with a reputable company. Unfortunately, our experience has been nothing short of devastating.

After taking a substantial deposit before the job began, the company disappeared without completing any work. They have since ceased all communication—ignoring phone calls, emails, and any attempts to reach out. This is not just poor service; it is outright fraudulent behaviour.

As a charity, we rely heavily on donations and public trust. The financial loss and breach of trust caused by The Alfie Group Ltd. have had a serious impact on our operations and the community we serve. Their actions show a complete lack of morality, integrity, and professionalism.

To make matters worse, the director of The Alfie Group Ltd. has recently registered a new company called AP Home Improvements. We strongly urge others to be cautious, as the same unethical practices may be carried over under this new name.

Avoid this company at all costs. They have shown no accountability, no respect for their clients, and no intention of honouring their commitments.

My new roof was completed as I refused to pay any deposits until materials were delivered to my house - sent the deposit and roof completed still waiting on snagging issues getting fixed and my warranty being sent over - but noticed the company website has disappeared now and they aren't delivering my messages anymore !!

REFUND OUR £1000 DEPOSIT

We paid the company Alfie Group, David the manager or director came to give us quote and asked for £1000 deposit for materials, another contractor worker his name is Michael who was asked to complete job, we are in Edinburgh EH7 6UG

Several messages sent back and forth from May 14th, June and July, 2025, all evidence has been stored, been told the job has been booked in and times confirmed.

No action or response, no work has begun, been lied to week after week, then letter been typed up by Government website asking for REFUND otherwise going to authorities and Legal Advice, over 61+ phones calls registered on my call list which has now been printed up

65 and 70 years of age and been treated like this is unbelievable and taking advantage, only now husband has just taken a stroke in hospital and I have a full stress on what's happening, we cannot afford this and are pensioners.

PLEASE REFUND MY £1000, ME MY HUSBAND AND MY FAMILY ARE VERY UPSET and angry this is impacting our health.

We have been begging and been told next week let's please close this and give my money back, this has been weeks and weeks please, I will bring Description with Police and not let this go

Do not give these people money under any circumstances. Took £700 from me, gave me the runaround for months. Said they were refunding my money then cut off contact.

Avoid this company

Paid £1000 deposit on 16 May then decided not to proceed and asked for return of deposit on 19th May. Despite numerous text messages and promises of payment - nothing received. Was even told if I removed my previous bad review they would bring the £1000 to my door. Calls and texts now going unanswered. Avoid the Alfie Group.

I paid a £1,100 deposit to Alfie Group on Tuesday 22 April for a bathroom renovation. From the start, the service was disorganised:

30 April: First surveyor didn’t show — no communication.
2 May: Second surveyor also didn’t show.
6 May: Third finally arrived.
9 May: I cancelled due to repeated poor communication.
13 May: Refund was confirmed by Alfie Group

Between 13 May and 5 June, I was unexpectedly told that the refund would not go ahead — despite no work starting and no clear terms shared upfront. Then on 5 June, I received confirmation that the refund would be processed within 2 weeks.

I followed up on 25 June and again on 30 June — both were ignored.

As of today, I still haven’t received my refund or any response. If this is not resolved immediately, I will escalate the matter legally.

Our deposit was given back as soon as the owner saw my first review on 28/06/25 stating that we had been waiting since 12/05/25 was because the fella who took it was a fraudster l working for this company unbeknown to the owners of the company. They knew nothing of our money as he'd not gave in our contract or deposit £250. Along with other customers who the company are trying to arrange other dates or refunds. I would like to thank Ashley for her quick response to my review. Hopefully, the police catch Steven Hughes. As he seems to be an out and out swine without any scruples or morals. So beware of a man in his late 40's dark haired, polite, but a bit forceful and only deals in cash deposits and will finally give you all you want and a few extras thrown in for good measures leaving you feeling you got a real bargain. Once again thank you Ashley we can now give ourselves a wee treat.

Recently had our new en-suite restyled by the Alfie group . David was fantastic and made the full experience a joy ! I'm in love with the results . Can't wait to get you back for my new bathroom . Can't recommend enough. Thanks team x

Had my bathroom transformed. What an outstanding job. Loved my bathroom so much I am getting them to do my kitchen. Big thanks to David who arranged it all for me was very professional courteous and kept me informed all the way

Iv recently had a new conservatory installed by the Alfiegroup. The whole process from start to finish I was made to feel and ease and updated at every stage. The workmen who carried out the job were fantastic, not a bit of mess was left in my garden. What a difference it’s made to my property. In the process of getting my en-suite done now as well.

Got my extension just completed by The Alfie Group and I couldn't be happier. Great advice and great work for them and they managed the full project for me!

Lewis made the process of purchasing new windows and doors really easy. Within one friendly meeting Lewis gathered sizes, and took time to really understand our detailed requirements and preferences.
Lewis made some very valuable recommendations on some newer technology options that would work out more cost effective overall. A pleasure to deal with after dealing with multiple previous companies who were only interested in up selling. Everything was sorted by Lewis in the background and the surveyor / installer were scheduled around times and dates that suited us. Thanks again.
