Expensive Lessons, Finally Explained. Wish I’d Found The Algo Institute Sooner!
I’ve personally been a customer of Vincere, Vector, GemAlgo, Quant28, HedgeNova, Cynta, Gemeos, SkySail and a few others. Almost all of those experiences ended in losses and disappointment (except Skysail). And some of those losses were very significant. Between the licensing fees and the trading losses, I’ve paid a lot to learn but nothing made complete sense to me until the Algo Institute.
Before I understood the methodology and concepts, much of what I saw looked promising on paper, and then my actual experience with real money was a different story. The frustrating part wasn’t just losing money. It was trying to understand why things went wrong and what I should have recognized before getting involved.
Brian’s concepts focus on understanding the strategy, evaluating the numbers, and recognizing risk that you sometimes can’t see is something I wish I’d had from the beginning. Impressive returns only tell part of the story. Understanding how those returns were generated and what could cause a strategy to fall apart matters just as much.
Having tried so many of these companies myself, almost all of the concerns raised by The Algo Institute line up exactly with my own experience to a T! It’s tough looking back at money already spent and realizing there were warning signs I didn’t know how to identify.
For anyone considering spending thousands of dollars on an algo, I’d strongly encourage getting educated before committing your money. No one can guarantee future performance, but knowing what questions to ask and how to look beyond the sales pitch is valuable. I learned some lessons the expensive way, but now have avoided hundreds of thousands of dollars in losses in the future and I understand why.
These are my personal experiences after investing real money testing a wide range of these companies. I’m grateful for what Brian and the institute are doing, and I have recommended it to dozens of friends.
