We have been subscribing to That Bear Can Read since Christmas. These beautiful boxes of literary joy arrive every month to the delight of my 2 children (ages 6 and 3). There is the perfect balance of educational material and gifting.
My 6 year old can sometimes be harder to encourage, but the length and complexity of the worksheets are perfect for her attention span and once she completes one she is keen to work on more.
My 3 year old is just getting into the worksheets, but absolutely loves all the stories and books that come in her parcel every month. The addition of a character to support the stories is a wonderful touch.

For me, I think the curation of these collections is fantastic, with a good mix of fiction and non fiction, and for younger ones providing themes and concepts that support their development outside of Reading and Phonics.

By far the best children’s subscription we’ve had (and we’ve done a lot of craft and baking ones previously).

Easy to set up and really good value. My 3 year old and I have enjoyed our first pack, which included much more than just the beautiful books, and we look forward to the next delivery.

Fantastic company and a great way to keep up with the children’s reading during the school holidays

The pack is really well thought out . I have a reluctant reader at home but the choice of books really engaged him and he lives the little surprises. Now we pair read our books before school in the morning it sets us up for the day .

Just ordered this for my 2 year old little boy! And he loves it already! Some bits he a bit young for but pop them away for when he a bit older! Thank you so much for helping a mummy out x

The quality of the worksheets and stickers is fantastic. The only downside of stickers is that once the sheet has been used it can’t be redone (repeating aids learning) although I’ve got round that by laminating some and adding velcro which has meant more hours of fun.

I’d give the subscription a five but have knocked one off, partly due to the single use of most of it, but also due to the repetitiveness of our second box. I appreciate that topics/learning aims will be the same for the age group but when having multiple subscriptions it does result in multiple copies of the same worksheets and on some occasions books.

The bear can read is more than just reading - my child gets excited when this comes through the post. She engages with the exercises and after reading the books she doodles on the box from her imagination about one of the stories. She loves reading, never a chore and I do think it’s because this has injected the fun and learning into it also.

Wonderful monthly subscription with fun but educational worksheets, level appropriate books and phonics cards provided. We’ve done it since our daughter was 3 and she’s now on Panda level. Our son is 2.5 and has just started Cub. Highly recommend!

What amazing value for money. Fantastic range if books which are perfect for continuing to read in the holidays. Especially loved that the card with some sounds on went through how to sound them out and one if the books has an adult reading part and child reading part. I really wish I had known about this at the start of my sons reading journey.
It came with a missing item, I emailed them and it was sorted within 3 hours. Amazing service.

Highly recommended. My twins have loved the boxes lots of really fun, structured things to do. The books are great. It has also been super helpful to us parents who did not learn to read with phonics. Also had fantastic communication with the team, they are very helpful and quick to respond.

The special delivery envelope that arrived is great, I quite liked the books that came with it, the worksheets would probably be suited to a child a bit older, my toddler just scribbled on them and the props/toys will probably not get used much. The inclusion of something like flashcards or an alphabet chart would have suited her better. Also if the nursery rhyme had a picture on she might have been a bit more interested. My child loves to read but I'm not sure the books included will become favourites.

If you're looking for exceptional children's books, this store is a treasure trove! Every book we've ordered has been fantastic, captivating my kids' imaginations and igniting their love for reading. The icing on the cake is the speedy delivery service, which keeps my kids eagerly anticipating their new literary adventures.

We love the diverse range of books supplied and great attention to books on feeling , morals and family values.
My children re-use work sheets provided and have come on leaps and bounds by having this as part of their curriculum.
Not to mention an personally address gift box in the mail every month.
