Kitchen refurbishment - March 2023
Ray was initally attentive and appeared professfional at the start of the refurbishment, however part way through the project and on the date of completion that quickly changed.
Once notified that the refurbishment was finished I was contacted and asked for the remainder of the money due without a final check of the kitchen being done by Ray or myself.
On final review I spotted various faults and pointed these out to Ray. Many of the faults detected were dismissed by Ray, and subesquently aspects of the kitchen have been left in poor condition and are not fit for purpose.
While at first glance the my new kitchen looks great, I have been left with additional costs and unnecessary stress.
Faults raised with Ray;
- Kitchen worktop: part left unsealed and exposed to moisture
Due to poor care when the doorframe was removed to fit the new worktop. Ray agreed himself that this was not left in the right condition as the work top is laminate wood. The exposed area is by the sink so highly likely water will get into the worktop leading to complications down the line. Ray quoted £150 to fix this problem which was caused by inproper care from his team.
- Hole through wall
While installing a new socket, a hole was drilled from one end right through to the other side of the wall, leaving part of the wall damaged. Ray applied filler to the area, but no further attempt was made to make good the wall.
- Leak from sink
While adding final amendments to the unit under the sink Ray spotted a leak. Ray blaimed this on me having filled the sink and advised that I don't do this in future as it will go into the overflow which will then result in a leak. He then attempted to stop the leak and apply sealent to the plumbing. This is still an ongoing issue whenever I wash up.
- Kitchen unit missing back panel
It appears there was a back panel missing from one of the units. Ray excused the need for a back panel although it is clear the unit should have one. It's understandable that this was missing from the pack orerded Magnet and this could have easily been resolved by me ordering the missing panel.
Would not recommend the company based off of how I was dealt with. It was very clear to me that the main focus was the money and not my satisfaction with the work done.
