€3,000 Paid – 6 Month Delay – Refund Promised, Not Processed

I paid €3,000 to The Conversion Codex for a website revamp and advertorial project.

The delivery took over 6 months. When the work was finally provided, it was not usable for my business. The only element I implemented was a minor cart update. The main website revamp and advertorial were below the standard required to go live.

There were repeated missed deadlines and shifting timelines throughout the project.

After I raised these issues, the owner agreed in writing to refund the full €3,000. I was told the refund would be processed “this month” and that I would receive it “shortly.”

Despite multiple follow ups, no refund has been processed and no proof of payment has been provided.

As of today, I am still waiting for the agreed refund unfortunately the owner has now ghosted me

Given the written confirmation of refund, I am now pursuing formal recovery channels to resolve this matter

I strongly recommend anyone considering working with this company ensure clear milestone protections and payment safeguards are in place.

Thank you for your feedback. We would like to provide some additional context regarding this project.

The original scope of work was delivered within approximately 40-50 days, which aligned with the timeline we communicated. During that time, communication from the brand owner paused and we received no responses to multiple updates.

A separate team member involved in the project from your end informed us there were internal delays and asked that work be temporarily paused.

When the brand owner later returned to the project, the Shopify work our team had implemented had been removed by a third party outside of our team. Despite this, we offered to rebuild the deleted work at no additional cost.

We also offered to A/B test and iterate on the work to ensure it performed better than the previous version. However, the work was never reviewed in depth before a payment dispute was raised.

Although refunds are not part of our standard policy for completed work, we still agreed to issue one as a gesture of goodwill. At the time, we explained that it would be processed at a later date to accommodate internal financial scheduling.

The refund was also processed in full.

This review purposefully leaves out crucial details of the interaction
