What a fantastic weekend camping
What a fantastic weekend camping with my Martin for his birthday at The Firs, Fishery and Campsite, Shadoxhurst, nr Ashford, Kent. So peaceful, beautifully kept, clean and tidy and full of wildlife. Martin spent his time fishing in the very well stocked lake, I read a book and Buster explored all the shady wooded areas by the lake on his very long lead!
What you need to know; one toilet, but spotlessly clean and we never queued. No shower but strip washing is available and easy. No shop, but plan ahead and bring what you need. No electric hook up, but plan ahead and charge using your car. No children. Toilets easily accessible at night with security lights. A lovely shaded walk in the woods and lots of space. There are plenty of ups for any ‘perceived down’, we had no problems at all and are going back, it’s only a hour down the road to paradise!
If you love to watch the bright blue sky through pine needs and cones high above, listen to the birds singing their merry tunes, watch your husband sit completely relaxed fishing the cool waters and then watch the bats whizzing over the fields at dusk and listen to owls calling out their bewitching melodies at night, this magical place is for you.
Fantastic hosts, Stuart and Margaret made us all, including Buster really welcome.
There is more on their website or you can find them on pitchup
