The General Wine Company Reviews 

The General Wine Company has so many interesting wines from which to choose, it can be difficult. We were after a particular prosecco by Famiglia Botter, a spago which we fell in love with some time ago. Sadly it no longer seems available in Britain, but there is a very acceptable alternative with a screw top - yes. "Real" proseccos don't have the more robust pressure bottles, but rely on string to hold in the cork, or, in our choice a screw top.
The website is easy to navigate, the checkout simple, the prices reasonable. The company is easy to deal with, and are very helpful indeed if there is supply problem.

After initial mixup with delivery address the matter was resolved with speed and efficiency.
I have already placed a second order which is proving most enjoyable.

Ordered 6 bottles of Beaujolais Villages Nouveau (2025) Jean-Michel Dupré. Paid order never arrived sent email only to be told they had forgotten to send me the order and it had all ran out this was 10 days after my order. Very disappointed wont be using again.

Tasing Event Haslemere Museum
As GWC has such a broad range of interesting and classic wines, I invited a number of wine friends to this event. The wines on show were simply average. Nothing electic or off-the beaten track e.g. Greece, Mallorca, Georgia, etc. Maybe you've changed and gome "middle of the road", away from you Classic and interesting vibe that I have loved. You have serious competition from Grayshott wine, who show the sort of wines you used to excel in.

It took 10 days for my shipment to arrive. This never happened when you delivered the shipments yourself - often I would get it the next day. I'm considering using an alternative supplier next time

You kindly pit to one side the booze I was seeking to buy, so that it was avaiable when I was able to get to your Petersfield shop make the purchase. That is a first rate servfice.

Great location at Madeline's kitchen just a few minutes walk from the station.
The talk about the history and style of Tamdhu whisky was informative and fun .
5 whiskey tasted , including the 18 year old , with a delicious tapas selection.

Fantastic shop with great staff and good wines.
Their wine tasting events are particularly good, we really enjoy going to them to learn more about the wines.
