Wasted our time and money

Wasted our time and money. My wife purchased tickets on 5th May for the Gin, Rum and Vodka festival in Salisbury on 5th July. We booked a hotel so we can make a weekend of it. When we arrived for the festival there was a sign on the door saying it had been cancelled due to the company going into liquidation. We received no prior information about this so it completely ruined our weekend plans. We tried to find something else to do but everything was fully booked. Now we have to chase a refund for the tickets from our Credit card company.

Bought tickets for the gin experience…

Bought tickets for the gin experience to be held this coming November.
Just been informed via email that they have ceased trading due to numerous reasons, including COVID -really??
They filed for insolvency in March 2025 but were still touting for business until a few weeks ago.
They suggest contacting my bank for a ticket refund! I should have used my credit card. I'll not make that mistake again.

Avoid these scammers

We bought tickets to the gin tasting event in Dublin which was due to take place in Oct2024.
With less than 2 days notice before the event, an email was sent out detailing it was postponed "due to Ireland's strict and complex alcohol licensing laws".

This excuse is unacceptable for a company considering we bought our tickets in January 2024 - they had nearly a year to get the necessary licenses in place and any reputable company would know this.
Since then, I've been requesting for a refund for the money they owe us for an event which has never been rescheduled. I have sent several emails and am still waiting for a refund. Sometimes they reply that it will processed and other days it's just silence from them.

I've sinc contacted them via social media and now I'm blocked by them for asking for a response to my refund request for a service that they did not provide and were paid for.
Under Consumer Rights Act 2015, we are entitled to a full refund and will be raising a complaint with the Consumer Ombudsman now.
This company are scammers and should be avoided at all costs!!
Update: activities by the company owned by Paul Richard Hudson Jones is being investigated by the fraud team of my bank. Would recommend everyone raises a similar request with your own bank even if you didn't use your credit card for purchases with this company.

Total waste of time and money

Having recently been to the really well run , value for money, whisky fest at the europa I was hoping for the same type of experience. This was awful, really disappointing. The room was over full , massive queues for the minimal stands , no real free samples, you couldn’t ’work the room ‘ you could queue 30 mins to taste one thimble of a mixed drink and then be expected to buy a £10 cocktail. The entrance fee didn’t even include a drink, there weren’t enough chairs for everyone and the place was over heated . Really really disappointing after all the hype

Awful

Awful
Not worth the money - 6 suppliers in a small room - huge queues at the 6 suppliers ( all of who I knew their drinks ) despite VIP tickets no seats - left after 90 minutes - terrible event compared to other better organised and far more suppliers

Venue changed

Venue changed, no correspondence.
Just happened to realise it had changed
Not worth the trip to Manchester, prefer to spend my money in nice bars in Manchester than in a rubbish upstairs room.
Won’t be booking another one.

Fantastic

Brilliant - got a great offer through Travel Zoo so thought I'd give it a go - went with three (drinking age) children and grandchildren. One of them drove us. You got a free glass, bamboo straw, shot measure and tote bag as you walked in (I think, if I'd have paid the VIP, I'd have been happy with that as well as a free drink but you get it standard too) - the drinks were 35ml measures and they only cost £7 each! Brilliant. Then, lots of people were just getting the samples and putting those in their glasses (we didn't actually do that - but we did sample on every stall) - took us a while to warm to the singer but after a few drinks we certainly did (and got caught dancing and put on insta). We went to the afternoon opening so were all sobered up and ready for bed that evening. The rums (my tipple) were lovely - I bought a bottle of coconut rum - and the others all bought their fave tipple too (vodka and, of course, gin). We decided we'd definitely do this again and pay full price - maybe even VIP to get down the queue quicker. We're not usually pub-goers particularly but this really was something everyone who likes a drink would enjoy. We shared a table with two other lovely ladies - and there was no sillyness - everyone was great. The bar staff/business owners and entrance staff were all great - especially the admissions dude. Thank you very much Gin to my Tonic, for a well-needed afternoon of fun and music! :)

£30 “VIP” tickets to a “Gin Festival”. Ripoff

£30 “VIP” tickets to a “Gin Festival”. Or £17 standard. The difference? You get one free drink. That’s it. Thirteen quid for a gin and tonic.
For my thirty quid VIP Experience, I got a glass tumbler (value £2), a bamboo straw (5p), a tin measuring cup (40p), a ballpoint pen (30p) a leaflet listing the gins on sale (extra vouchers - 4 for £28) but no tasting notes (no useful information at all, so you might as well be ordering any random gin) a VIP button badge (5p) which does absolutely nothing and a cheap black bag made from J-Cloths to carry it in (10p). The VIP claim was to be some sort of privileged access, but that was non existent. It was a free for all. Standard £17 tickets got the same goodie bag.
So all the VIP ticket gets you is a single measure of gin …. for an extra £13 and a button badge. Bargain!!!! Not.
The venue was a local hall, bereft of atmosphere. It was more like a Mothers Union meeting. Tables laid out in strict rows, gin bars with hired staff who couldn’t tell you anything about their gins on offer, a food stall selling burgers for £12 each and an asthmatic karaoke singer doing their best to entertain an ambivalent audience (although there were some p**sed up dancers who seemed to enjoy it).
Meanwhile, in another room about half a dozen gin companies flogging their wares to the public. One can only assume they had also paid to be there because they were in hard sell mode, presumably to recoup their stall fee?
Festival it was not. Heavily overpriced, hard sell karaoke night might be a better description. This company is simply cashing in on a fading gin trend.
Apart from groups of women trying to relive a long forgotten hen party, most of the couples we spoke to were heartily disappointed.

Wish I’d used trustpilot before my purchase! Ordered two tickets for the Isle of Wight, event has been cancelled (this was confirmed by the elected venue) I haven’t been notified by the company at all, or been offered a refund. I have emailed and sent messages on Facebook and they’ve just been ignored. They took my money & ran with it. Awful experience and I’ll never support them again no matter where they go!

Aylesbury Gin Festival postponed twice!

We booked for the Aylesbury gin festival, May 2024 and this was postponed to August 2024, but they failed to notify us. We booked for the Aylesbury gin festival in March 2025, and it was postponed to June 2025 with only 8 days' notice. On both occasions we had arranged for friends to come down from Shropshire to go with us. Customer services were very good in that they issued transfer/refunds quickly, but actually 'good' customer service would be to not cancel/postpone events, and it isn't appropriate to say they are postponing for 'better customer experience' - it would be better to stick to dates advertised! I also think that they need to be more open and honest about these changes on social media - these changes of dates are slipped 'under the radar' on their many Facebook posts when a simple 'change of date' post would help get the word around and prevent people turning up for the cancelled events.

Terrible Customer Service and Watch out for No Refunds in their Terms and Conditions

I have used this company previously and never had any issues, after all it's just booking tickets!
However, I booked tickets 2 weeks ago for an event in April and i mis takingly selected the afternoon appointment rather than the evening. As it was a weekend and i could not contact them, i booked again for the evening tickets and requested a refund for the other tickets. To my amazement i was refused a refund due to their terms and conditions in that they do not offer refunds! Nowhere is this transparent in the booking path and is not treating customers fairly. Having explained the situation and purchased a second set of tickets, i did not see it to be an issue.
On the refusal to issue me a refund i politely advised them under UK law i am as a customer entitled to a 14 day cancellation period no matter what is stated in your terms and conditions. They responded to advise me on this occasion they would refund me. (As if they are doing me a favour when it is my rights!) I was advised my refund would be with me within 5-10 working days. Today is the 11th working day to which i have chased and now advise me it has been processed and takes 5 working days so why have i not received it? Absolutely terrible customer service so beware!

We love The Gin to my Tonic

We love The Gin to my Tonic! Since lockdown we have been taking part in monthly virtuals, purchasing advent calendars and attending in-person events and we love them! The events are great value for money and help you to meet and support some amazing distillers. We have always found the team to be very friendly and great at responding to queries and we will continue to support them

TGTMT festivals and shows are brilliant!!

We love ‘The Gin To My Tonic’ (TGTMT) festivals and shows! We have been to several now and they are always great fun, good value for money, and of course amazing gins!!

They are held at unique and interesting venues. We enjoy speaking to all the distillers, the live music, huge choice of gins at the bars, and food.

It is really well organised and the customer service is great!

Whether you are a gin enthusiast or just want to have some drinks with friends - there is something for everyone and it’s good value for money.

We enjoy travelling the country to visit the different events and venues, and love talking to the wide variety of distillers that attend each event. We always come away with several gins that we love.

We would throughly recommend TGTMT events - we are so glad we found them.

I ordered an advent calendar back in…

I ordered an advent calendar back in September which had a mid October delivery date. When that passed I had several email exchanges where I chased for a delivery date to be told, “end of the week” or “tomorrow” etc. I then told them the drop date day I needed it (as it’s a gift) and was assured it would be with me. It wasn’t. Now my emails are being ignored and I am stuck with a product I have no use for. Very poor customer service. Would not recommend or use again

Very poor and unprofessional

My mum had purchased 3 VIP tickets to this experience in Dublin months in advance but it was called off with less than a week's notice. They sent an email to say that they would reschedule the event and let us know the new date in a week. That never happened. They ignored emails. They deleted my comments on Facebook asking about the Dublin event. They didn't reply to my comments and they eventually blocked me from their Facebook page. All I wanted was a reply or any information regarded a new date or a refund. How unprofessional. They asked my My mum not to put negative comments on Facebook and even though she had sent 6 emails , she only received a reply after threatening legal action. It was a very frustrating experience trying to get a refund. I do not trust this company at all and will never give them my money.

Earlier intervention / better processes needed.

It might be down to Royal Mail's "Tracked 24" service taking over 4 days! It might be down to the distiller taking almost 3 days to dispatch the item. Regardless as to who was at fault, I had to do all of the chasing - initially as to why the delivery was late - then requesting tracking information (which took 2 days to obtain) - then the tracking info was sent to me without anyone checking it - as soon as I saw it was obvious there was a problem. Initially no-one else seemed to realise there was an issue - I was repeatedly told the item would arrive on Monday (it arrived midday Thursday). The emails from the team were polite and apologetic but that wasn't what was needed - earlier action / better processes / someone taking responsibility would have ensured the issue was identified and possibly fixed much more quickly.
It's only a late birthday present - no-one died, but it need not have been such a drawn out process had someone taken responsibility early on to deal with the issue. No-one did - hence this review. Sadly, I shan't be using them again.
