Avoid

We ordered artificial grass - specifically PU backed from The Grass Yard due to their excellent description regarding drainage capability as we have 2 small dogs. We followed all their guidance online about laying the grass and my husband is a professional in this field - so was content with their advice. Unfortunately water just sits excessively on the grass. It doesn’t drain for hours and we have never seen such poorly draining grass. I contacted them a number of times and followed all advice (including not cutting it in initially as we could see there was a drainage issue( - they asked us to fully fit it and we continued having an issue.
They were friendly, however they kept saying we had used sand (even after numerous videos and pictures) and then told us this is normal drainage for artificial grass, even though we know 100% it is not. They were not willing to do anything about it at all. Just expected us to loose the £700 we had spent and then fork out again to replace as it was not fit for purpose OR as described.
Luckily PayPal have stepped in and refunded us in full based on the evidence provided of being mis-sold. We can now replace with god quality artificial grass that will be bought elsewhere.
I would avoid using the grass yard as they are not supportive or customer focused when it comes to poor OR faulty products. They are continuing to sell this still.

Strangest customer service experience…

Strangest customer service experience ever.
Ordered grass online but there was no way to arrange delivery so called grassyard. Spoke to a nice lady who quoted me £120 for delivery of a 10.5m roll of Ailsa Craig which is in stock on website to my address. I said that’ll be fine. Then she passed me to her sister Kelly Anne (the owner) who told me that the grass I wanted was out of stock. Okay then I’ll take Staffa instead. She said oh you don’t want Staffa. We call it our buzz cut, it’s very uniform and not as nice as the Ailsa Craig, you should go for Westray. I say okay Westray it is, I like the samples and it’s a pound a metre cheaper. So she then says I need to pay invoice by bank transfer so okay. Sends the invoice in the wrong name so I ask to have it changed same night to my wife’s name as it’s for her business and I’ll pay immediately. She emails back to say, sorry the Westray is out of stock, we can give you Staffa??? I said you told me I wouldn’t like Staffa so thanks I’ll look again. She offers me a little discount on Staffa so I reply saying what about a little discount on Harris instead? She says yes I’ll look on Monday see what I can do and get back to you. Great.
Nothing, I email at mid day Monday to say Hi you were going to get back to me Monday? And Nothing? I check website and they are all showing as in stock. I’m away at work so don’t have time for this so leave it. Couple of weeks later my wife asks about it and says I’ll call them and see what’s available now so good. Westray showing in stock still so she calls to be told sorry the stock system isn’t connected to the actual stock?? She asks what’s available and then the same owner takes over the call abruptly asking have you called here before? She explains No my husband did and he’s away at work. She was quite rude for some reason but my wife was nice and she mellowed. She says no Westray still and Harris is gone but they are getting a new version in this week and it’s better but cheaper. Then she offers to send us a small sample. Great, we’re back in business. I got home 5 days later, still no sample so went to Tuda Grass, got samples next day, bought grass that day (Saturday) and was delivered to my house from Manchester to Scotland at 9am Monday morning. Fitted it over next two days and looks amazing. I never did get my new sample from Kellyanne.
In summary. What an absolute waste of time and effort. Inaccurate, dishonest and rude. Stay away from The Grassyard, strangers to the truth.
