Does not live up to timeless classics and impeccable hospitality

Unfortunately , our experience at this restaurant was disappointing.   One main course arrived long after the rest of the table had finished their meals which completely disrupted the dining experience.

We were also given " A glass of Complementary Champagne",  and clearly not champagne as advertised, which felt misleading.

To their credit, Management did call afterwards to apologise  for the poor service and offer compensation which unfortunately never arrived.
While the apology was appreciated, the lack of follow through reflects poorly on the overall service.

The quality did not match the prices, hence we wont be back.

Rushed to clear the table

We booked a table for 6pm, it was clear when booking that you have a table for 2 hours. When we arrived 5 minutes early we were told we were early and we were asked to go to the bar. It was after 6.30pm when we got seated. At 7.50pm when we still had coffee and drinks in front of us and were not ready for the bill the waiter arrived with the bill, when I said we were not ready for the bill he took the bill away but a manager came over and asked if we needed extra time. It was a very expensive meal and we were made feel uncomfortable finishing our drinks and rushed to clear the table. I will not be going back.

This gotta be the most memorable diner

The place is very nice, this is my first visit of Dublin. Every dish was a new experience to me except the steak because I'm used to great steaks, and this steak was 5 out of 5. And trust me I'm a steak critic. Great performance!

FAB Vegan Breakfast

Have lunched at The Ivy a few times always excellent, however their vegan breakfast was probably the best I've ever had! Everything cooked to perfection, recommend The Ivy especially for early dining.

Not much to like

I loved the interior, and seats were comfortable - that's why this gets 1 star. I cant comment on food or drink because we got none. Menus took over 20 minutes to be delivered to table, my husband immediately ordered a bottle of beer, I wanted to check out the wine before ordering. We then watched in disbelief as our waiter strolled around, and made no attempt to come near our table, despite our attempts to get attention. Yes I was clock watching, well watch watching. A further 20 mins, no beer, no wine ordered, no attempt to take our order - we phoned another restaurant, got a booking. Packed ourselves up and advised reception that they need to consider serving their customers.
Obviously our experience was tainted by the lack of service but having time to scrutinise the menu in detail, and watch the very odd plate being delivered, the menu and plates were very uninspiring.
There is also a dress code of casual wear where no shorts etc are allowed - the gent sitting opposite us was dressed for the beach in colourful shorts and sandals.

Gift voucher scam

Real company, but their gift vouchers are a bit of a scam - you have to read the terms and conditions very carefully, as the gift voucher must be used all in one transaction.
