I used the Match Guy crash course for my Step 1 prep, and it helped me so much that after passing Step 1, I knew I wanted to start Step 2 the same way. The Match Guy Step 2 Crash Course was a great way to review all the high-yield concepts in just one week before diving into UWorld. It gave me a solid foundation, so I was not going into questions blank.
I really liked the interactive Q&A format and how the tutors connected related concepts instead of just teaching isolated facts. The recordings are another big plus, I can always go back and review them before starting each system.
Overall, it was definitely worth the money, and I would recommend it to anyone preparing for Step 2. Also, don’t hesitate to reach out to their support team, they may be able to offer discounts, especially if you have taken the Step 1 Crash Course before or are planning to sign up for tutoring.

He works really well with my study style, which is question-based learning, so our tutor sessions are really interactive. Amazing doctors and team who would help you to nail HY stuff for any usmle exams, highly recommend
i found the match guy bootcamp to be worth every penny and every hour spent in it!! got my step 1 pass on my first attempt taking the exam! if you pay attention to the match guy live bootcamp sessions and have time to comb through each video once or twice, i’d say that’s more than enough to pass step 1. an overwhelming majority of the material taught during the match guy bootcamp was on the step 1 exam i took. i am super thrilled about my experience with the course and i will be purchasing the step 2 bootcamp for sure.
for more background on my experience, i bought this bootcamp because i was very nervous about taking USMLE step 1 as a DO student. had a fair amount of direction for COMLEX provided by my school, but i was going in blind with USMLE. both COMLEX and USMLE are very similar for sure, but there are enough differences in them to where it wouldn’t be wise to only prep for COMLEX and sit for USMLE. i attended the bootcamp at the start of my dedicated period. i was actively engaged for most of the live zoom calls but had to miss maybe 1 or 2 sessions, and it was easy to catch up later. after the week was over, i spent the rest of dedicated doing practice questions on Truelearn and Uworld, taking the two mandatory COMSAE exams provided by my school, thoroughly reviewing practice qs+COMSAEs, and rewatching the match guy bootcamp live session recordings and taking organized, color coded notes on them as needed. i took my COMLEX exam 2 weeks before USMLE, and i will say this bootcamp carried me a good bit through that exam as well. a lot of the common trick question examples that tutors walked through in the course helped me get multiple questions on COMLEX right. i had mixed feelings after leaving COMLEX, but for the most part leaned toward thinking it went ok. i took the new free 120 two days before my step exam and i made a 77%. i felt like the bootcamp was a driving factor in that score, as id look at a question and remember something a tutor said to help me answer or at least narrow down options. on actual USMLE step 1 test day, i felt extremely good from beginning to end. the majority of questions were something i had heard talked about in the course before, so there was almost no uncertainty, just a matter of remembering what i had learned during the bootcamp correctly. i had a super direct, relatively stress-free exam day all thanks to the match guy:)
my experience with the course was that it was beyond helpful for both my USMLE prep as well as my COMLEX prep, i passed both very comfortably! but DO students pls take my opinion with caution! i will say with 100% confidence that this bootcamp helped me immensely with COMLEX, but this course is not built around COMLEX prep and every student is different, you may or may not study similar to me so make sure you do appropriate COMLEX prep as well!! but yes in conclusion, this course was awesome, and i have recommended it to all of my 2nd year medical student friends:)
Just got my Step 1 pass today after ~2 years of studying for this exam and a previous fail. Absolutely could not have done this without The Match Guy helping me finally earn those last few points and get over the finish line!! The tutors were incredibly kind and responsive to questions, the material was both impressively comprehensive and high yield, and their tips and tricks for how to tackle common pitfalls or remember/distinguish complicated presentations were absolutely invaluable. I can’t count how many times I thought back to what I had learned in this course on test day. This engaging, intensive review was the perfect way to focus my studies during my final month before exam day and I absolutely attribute my pass to this amazing team!! Couldn’t be happier or recommend it more highly :)
I completed the Step 1 Bootcamp and have nothing but positive things to say about it. I was on a very tight timeline while working 40 hours per week, so I needed a study plan that was focused on what truly matters without wasting time. The bootcamp helped me achieve exactly that by emphasizing the highest-yield concepts and teaching an efficient approach to studying. Looking back, I'm confident that I answered several questions correctly on the exam because of the course. The memory tricks, practical tips, and emphasis on high-yield material helped me recall information that I probably wouldn't have retained if I had been studying on my own. I'm happy to say that I passed Step 1, and I highly recommend this course to anyone preparing for the exam. It offers outstanding value for the price and delivers exactly what it promises. The support doesn't end when the course is over, either. The post-course follow-up is excellent, with the tutors and support team staying in touch through WhatsApp.
This course is great. All the tutors are experts not only in the subjects, but the USMLE exams itself. They are able to teach you the language of the exam, and the comprehensive review helped fill my knowledge gaps. You still have to put in the work, but they are there to guide and help you. Everyone is super approachable and available for any questions all the time. I would do it again!
I took 7 days boot camp for step 2. Later on I was in touch with Dr Omar Alhomsi. I was very stressed during last few days. Dr Alhomsi, helped me a lot in reassuring me. He was very helpful in showing me a clear picture. He helped me target my weak areas. After going through the match guy material I had a 20 points jump in my nbmes and finally the real deal. I highly recommend them.
I passed my Step 1! Samir was the most amazing tutor ever and he helped me through a lot. My NBME started out rather average, but in the end reached as high as 85% before I took the exam. He prepped me so well that I felt very very confident in my exams!
As an older IMG I found this course invaluable. I was able to focus on high yield topics allowing me to make efficient use of my time. I don’t think I would have passed step one without it! Thank you to all the tutors!

I was a re-taker. I got 212 on my first attempt, then did the 7-day crash Step 2 CK course, and my scores went up. I took the exam and got 237. For someone with difficulty concentrating, this course helped me a lot. I highly recommend it for your preparation.

Dr. Mahdi is incredible! He is extremely thorough and makes sure I understand everything clearly. He prepares an all-encompassing presentation for every session with detailed review of my Q-bank mistakes and includes images and resources within the slides for me to study. He is a passionate and brilliant instructor, truly committed to seeing his students succeed. I feel so lucky to have him invest his time and energy into my journey. Thank you!!
This was a fantastic program, and this really helped me solidify gaps in my knowledge and gave me new tools to learn the material. Thank you for the premade Anki decks and typed at notes, as well. As a neurodivergent learner, this made the note taking process so much more easy!
The only thing I would change (if possible) is the length of the breaks between sessions. Maybe 10-15 minutes per break so you can take a breather and get caught up with notes if you’re behind? Also, I would have loved if Synapse or UWorld was included in the cost of the program.
Otherwise I loved everything about the course, the organization, the resources, the lecturers, etc.!
