Rehomed Papillion

We have a rehomed Papillion who would like to rule the roost. However the application of the 5 Golden Rules have made it clear who is in charge. As a result we have a happier wee dog. Definitely recommend Doggie Dan for everyone.

Work in progress

I am less than a week into the program, and am already seeing positive results! My dog, Juniper, is a 3 year old, very high energy, very reactive mix rescue. She & I have been in a social training group with a locally renowned trainer off & on for 2 & a half years, and 2 weeks ago, near the end of a very successful session, we were kicked out of class...and ALL FUTURE CLASSES...when Juniper lunged out at one of the other high energy dogs. No harm was intended, & no harm ensued, but regardless, we are no longer welcome. This brought me to Doggy Dan & the Dog Calming Code, and everything makes sense! Since a 3 month old pup, Juniper selected my husband as pack leader & demoted me to 'litter mate', & try as I might, I have never been able to successfully promote myself to pack leader. Since we began this program, I have more confidence & Juniper is responding to me with more respect. She is like a new dog! She's not perfect, and we have a long way to go, and any setbacks we have are rather my fault than hers, as I'm most likely to mess up with Rule #4. I love giving my dog attention, and when she seeks it, it makes me happy, but I'm trying hard to ignore & protect my space in these instances, at least for a brief time, before I invite her over on my terms for the attention & affection we both love. We are a work in progress🥰 Thank you, Doggy Dan!

Hi Jenn, thank you so much for sharing this. That must have been really tough, and we’re so glad you found your way here. The shift you’re describing with Juniper already is huge, especially in under a week. Gaining confidence and being seen as the leader changes everything, and you’re clearly doing the work. Slipping up on Rule #4 is very human… awareness is half the battle. Keep going, be kind to yourself, and enjoy the progress. You and Juniper are absolutely on the right path 🐾💛

I have noticed a great improvement just after 3 days. Layla(Pitbull mix) is responding to the training in leaps and bounds. Doggy Dan's methods are easy to follow and we can't believe the difference in Layla's demeanor. Thank you so much, Doggy Dan. I will definitely recommend your course to all my doggy friends.

From Crazed to Calm(er)

We adopted a 5 month old mixed breed who has been a handful — certainly more energy, stubbornness, and mouthy behavior than other dogs we’ve adopted (aside from one) at about that same age. We were working on a couple styles of training: a traditional method using treats, and a less traditional method using only praise and calmness. We were having little success when I came across Doggy Dan. After implementing his first 5 rules associated with dog psychology and understanding the Wolf Pack system, we definitely noticed progress within the first few days, and continue to see improvement. It’s still early on and we have a ways to go regarding her more difficult behaviors, but this is the first time we feel confident that we will, sooner than later, have our own healthy Wolf Pack — one that supports a balanced way of living together and includes fun and affection. Kudos to Doggy Dan!

That healthy, balanced pack you described really does come together step by step. Keep going… you’re doing a brilliant job 🐾💛

Best - developing patience: being in control.

Worst - "The Walk". Annie is just terrible - will take more than 30 days but we will get there.

Doggy Dan you’re great.

Doggy Dan you’re great.
The way you break things down works.
I was desperate 2 years ago in hospital thinking what else can I do with a collie that barks for attention a lot. A dog that has good walks on lead and sniff work. Has toys she works out how to find treats.
Then went into Doggy Dan and worked through each section.
By the time I was home I could then put what I had learned into practice.
I still use them when I need to.
Thank you Doggy Dan.

It really works. On thursday i started the first 3 of 5…

On thursday i started the first 3 of 5 golden rules. I implemented them immediately. I listened/ watched the remaining 2 on Friday. There is already a shift in the pack status. My 2 dogs are barking less. The GS who is extremely reactive to all noises and all dogs and constantly ( i mean constantly, all day) bringing his toys and barking to go out for us to play with him. Well, he is accepting the time out and already leaving off bringing his toys & barking. I cannt believe how fast this is working. Obviously, we need to continue and be consistent but already its made a difference. I look forward to the coming months and progressing with all 5 rules. I will then look at purchasing the reactivity lessons. Thank you. This training (mine not the dogs) has made so much sense.

Hi Ann, this is such a fantastic update—thank you for sharing it! 🙌 That shift you’re noticing so quickly is huge, especially with a highly reactive GS. The fact he’s already accepting time out and letting go of the constant toy barking says a lot about how clearly you’re stepping into that calm leadership role. Keep going and stay consistent—the progress really does compound over time. You’re doing brilliantly 🐾💛

Brilliant result so far

Only a few days into the Reactivity course, and I'm implementing it slowly in stages, but already my boy is noticeably calmer at night (when we have wild animals near our house) and I can settle him easily. Already a fantastic help and I've nowhere near finished the course so I am mightily impressed. Also when I have had questions, I had a very prompt and cogent response. Most impressed and it has already been worth every penny.

It's not as Easy as it Looks!

Dan makes it look so easy. My 2 dogs bark and everything & everyone regardless if it's family or stranger. I've been working with them but so far only about 20% successful. They stop, look at me and continue barking. The other problem is recall on my 2 year old Mini Poo. She will not come when she is called unless she's good and ready and on her terms. So far nothing has helped.

Game changer…

Oh my gosh I just watched your free online webinar and implemented rule 3 as she came out from her sleep and instead of my 15 week old Golden Retriever nailing and biting me she was instantly calm and I waited the extra 5 mins and it has been a game changer. I then did rule 1 and she was looking at me like ‘what?’ And she has been up for over an hour and not one bite! As opposed to me in the foetal position on Thursday sobbing my heart out with a snarly, snappy, bitey, growling pup, bleeding from my hands….i thought I was going to have a nervous breakdown after 6 weeks of nightmare HELL! And……I was ready to do a ‘drop and run’ back to the Breeders!!!! I have joined your program and can’t wait to sit and go through the first step! Thank you, thank you, thank you! 🙏

5 simple steps make such a difference

I listened to his tutorial, just 5 steps, would that help my reactive dog? Surely it had to be more difficult. But just a few days in we are seeing results. My dog would react if a dog growled, snapped, sometimes all it took was a look. After listening to Dan I realised that my dog thought he ruled the roost so, in fact, he was acting to protect me from a growling dog, thinking that was his job. Now he doesn't have tit bits off my plate as I am eating, i don't get up and move along the sofa if he wants to sit on it, he waits now when he comes to me whining with a toy in his mouth, he only gets attention when I get home when he is calm, so hopefully, in time, he won't feel he has to protect me when we r out, I know that will take time but big improvements so far.

The dog calming code works!

It’s just 5 things to remember rather than a whole lot of confusing obedience training. And you don’t even need to use treats! My dog was very reactive: walking was a nightmare as she’d lunge at everything and bark at any other dog. 2 weeks on and she’s much calmer, no longer pulling her lead, barking or lunging

Dogs no longer run the household - the humans are back in charge

Noticed improvement in my dogs behaviour after just a few days already. I also like that the training is not based on fear or punishment. My dogs were out of control. After about one month now I’d say overall improvement is in the 60-70% range. This is far more than I honestly expected. I'm confident that with further training we'll get even better results over time. If you’re serious about training your dog(s) and can put in the time and effort, I think this course may pleasantly surprise. And unlike personal trainers who will come to your house, the cost of this course is reasonable.
