AVOID, AVOID AVOID,

I placed order 1074 with The Panel Outlet Ireland on 17 August. I deliberately waited around 8 days before contacting them and simply sent a courtesy email asking whether I should still expect delivery on 1 September. I was not complaining or chasing the order. I simply wanted to confirm the delivery date because I was planning my bathroom renovation around it.

I received a clear confirmation in writing:

“Yes delivery will be with you by the 1st.”

I relied on that confirmation and specifically set aside the entire following week from my business commitments to complete my bathroom renovation. My entire bathroom had been designed around these exact panels and I had already purchased everything else to match them.

1 September came and went and the panels did not arrive.

I then contacted them again and was told there were problems with their transport provider. I was told these issues would be resolved by Tuesday or Wednesday at the latest. Then, on 1 September, despite the original delivery promise already being missed, I was told:

“Absolutely we will prioritise your order. I will be in contact to arrange delivery asap.”

Then, incredibly, on 4 September I received another email from The Panel Outlet Ireland stating:

“A member of our team will contact you to arrange a suitable delivery day.”

At that point I was still being led to believe that my order was going to be delivered.

Two days later, on 6 September, my order was simply cancelled and refunded.

No warning. No proper explanation. No attempt to discuss the situation with me. Just a cancellation.

I find that absolutely appalling customer service.

I run my own online business and take enormous pride in the customer service we provide. We have only received 5 star reviews on our own Trustpilot. I understand that things can go wrong in retail. Transport problems happen, suppliers have issues and delays occur.

What I do not understand is repeatedly giving a customer assurances that their order will be delivered, then that it will be prioritised, then telling them that someone will contact them to arrange a delivery day, only to cancel the order two days later.

If there was a problem that meant the order could not be fulfilled, I would much rather have been told honestly and upfront. Give the customer a realistic expectation and let them make an informed decision. Do not keep telling them that delivery is being arranged when that clearly is not going to happen.

I also make a real effort not to leave negative reviews for other businesses because I understand the impact they can have. Leaving a negative review is a last resort for me.

Since this happened, I have also read other reviews mentioning delayed orders, damaged panels and incorrect colours. Had I seen those reviews before placing my order, I would never have ordered from The Panel Outlet Ireland in the first place. Having now experienced the delays, repeated assurances and eventual cancellation myself, those reviews are extremely concerning in hindsight.

The impact on me is significant. I designed my entire bathroom around these exact panels and purchased everything else to match them. I also set aside an entire week from my business commitments to complete the renovation because I was relying on a delivery date that The Panel Outlet Ireland themselves confirmed.

That week was wasted.

One star because zero isn't an option.

Please beware of The Panel Outlet…

Please beware of The Panel Outlet Ireland and Fairmont Interiors—they are the exact same company.
On July 22nd, I purchased two types of panels: PVC panels and acoustic panels. The delivery arrived on August 1st, but they brought the acoustic panels in the wrong color, so they only left the PVC ones. A few days later, when I removed the protective film to install the PVC panels, I noticed they were defective with deep indentations, likely caused by improper storage or a manufacturing issue.
I contacted customer support, sent photos and videos, and they agreed it was a factory defect and promised a replacement. What followed was weeks of endless delays and broken promises. Every time I asked, I was brushed off with claims that the delivery would arrive "tomorrow," "next week," or "by the end of the week"—yet nobody ever showed up.
Eventually, I demanded a full refund and asked them to collect the defective panels. They agreed, but refused to issue any refund until the panels were picked up, leaving me trapped with no money and no usable product. It took dozens of messages and constant chasing just to get a partial refund for the acoustic panels that were never delivered in the first place.
Finally, after an extremely frustrating experience, they picked up the defective panels around August 24nd, and I received my remaining refund on August 27th.
It took over a month of daily messaging and dodging tactics just to get my money back. Save yourself the stress and stay far away from this company.
